Why Is Xanax Prescribed

I have been on Xanax for 15yrs. New provider doesnt want to keep prescribing it, why is he telling me its going to be taken off the market so I should back down now !!! WHAT???? IS THIS TRUE? I have no complaints. I am able to calm my panic attach because of the Xanax. ???? What is your professional opinion? I have been taking suboxone for about 2 months now. I am supposed to take 12mgs a day...3 doses 4 mg a piece a lot of days i do not need the 3rd dose and take 4 in the morning and 4 in the evening. Since i stoped taking painkillers i have had bad anxiety and trouble sleeping my mind seems to wonder and dwell on things when i go to bad and have had a couple anxiety attacks at work. My doctor tried buspar for 3 weeks because he does not like to give benzos with the subs. I had no relief from the buspar so today he gave me a perscription for xanax 0.5mg as need max 2 a day. He explained the possiable interaction between them and told me as long as i take them at least a couple hours apart i ahouldnt have any problems. I get anxiety a lot when I'm at home or at stores when I'm around a lot of people I get frustrated a lot too and I can't consatrate ## It is best when you see your Doctor that you don't ask for a particular color or strength. Let the provider decide what is right for you! ## @ignacio, Eddy is right. Many doctors will see it as a red flag if you go straight into asking them for something as widely abused as xanax. However I don't think it will lessen your chance of getting prescribed xanax if you just describe how your anxiety has been affecting your ability to participate in normal daily activities. Hello. I suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). I have suffered from it since I was 6 years of age. My doctor has always had me on Zoloft, but I don't think it's working. He keeps increasing my dosage & it's making me feel sick & irritable. With the Zoloft, I'm taking a seizure medication called Tranxene that's supposed to work like Xanax. I found some 3 scored "xanax".On 1 side there is a 5 in each bar. On the other side the first square has a TV in it. 2Nd squre is blank and 3 square has either a 1003 or 100B (hard to tell). When I take green stone it makes my right eye hurts and bursts my blood vessels so does sandoz 1mg alprazolam and the 2mg. I to my eye doctor my eye pressure is up. Started taking Mylan 1mg and 2mg alprazolam they worked until recently. They changed their ingredients pills r harder. Has sodium docusate in it...makes me more anxious stomach hurts. What if it has the imprint 2.57 GG on the pill? ## Hello, Wesley! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 0.5mgs of Alprazolam, which is a generic for Xanax. The tablet should be orange, oval, with a score in the middle on one side and GG over 257 on the other side. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. This pill looks like it could be 2mg of Xanax. It has 333 and is broke down like a Xanax with the 3 lines. What could this be? ## Hi Kim, What color is this pill you're describing? Knowing the shape could also be helpful as well when comparing possible matches. Is this rectangle shaped? Another question I have if you don't mind my asking is, where did you get the pill from? An origin alone may speak volumes about its potential legitimacy. Unfortunately, I can't do any further investigation until I have more specific details on the pill description...because as of now I'm not seeing any similar pills marked with 333. I am curious if there have been some reports about this generic I am prescribed and the pharmacy just recently switched over to these. I know they can vary slightly in the amount and their inactives are different, but this seems very strange. It's not helpful and it gives me a "dull" type of ongoing headache all day long. It has 2 score marks on one side with MJ at top and the J comes down n curls under the M and 519 at the bottom. The other side is blank with 3 score lines. Will not come up in my searches! I am looking for a doctor willing to prescribe xanax. Please spare me the horror stories. I have spent at least 4-6 weeks trying all of the following Paxil, Wellbutrin, Zoloft, Tefronaul, and even Serequeol.
