Why Do You Get Difficulty Swallowing

I have been taking 10mg of nortriptyline at night for migraine prevention for approximately 7 weeks. Shortly after starting this medication I began to have difficulty swallowing. After I eat I feel as though I have food stuck in my throat. Even the tiny, tiny nortriptyline pill taken with a glass of water sometimes feels stuck. Hello, my wife began a rash on her hand that spread to the arm and then the other arm, neck, and upper chest. Deep pain and weakness began about 2 weeks into the rash. Doctors were consulted in Comoros where we live, blood tests done. The abbreviation makes sense so I have no reason to think otherwise on this. I have had serious difficulty swallowing my meds for 2 years+. I have had to crush and put in water, chew or not take at all. In doing so, My throat is constantly sore and inflamed.My meds get stuck every time when I don't, and have even gotten into my nasal cavities somehow during trying to swallow. difficulty with swallowing pills. can swallow 20mg , not able to swallow 40 mg .. which is more advised. 2 20 mg. or can 40 mg be crushed and taken? ## I hope you have gotten your answer by now, but it is fine to crush this medication and administer it in some applesauce, jelly, jam or the like. ## Any medication that is not time released can usually be crushed, or broken, to make it easier to take, as long as the manufacturer, or your pharmacist doesn't instruct otherwise. I have difficulty swallowing large pills or capsules. I removed the three small pills from the capsule, crushed them, and swallowed them with jelly. This medication may cause the following side effects: upset stomach diarrhea vomiting mild skin rash headache itching hives difficulty breathing or swallowing wheezing vaginal infection I haven't found anything specifically relating to sleep problems or feeling drowsy, but if you sense that this side effect is becoming too bothersome or severe, I would definitely recommend contacting your doctor as soon as possible to see about other possible alternatives to Taxim-O.
