I live in Myrtle Beach, SC. I have been on methadone for 9 years. I have had a lot of pain issues since having cancer 10 years ago. I went to a pain management clinic in Philadelphia. No problems. TRhen I moved to MB and the only resouce I've been given is a methadone clinic.. I need to find a doctor to write my methadone for me. My insurance pays for that. but a clinic which is not helping my issue and want 300.00 dollars a month and I have to go everyday. I am not the healthiest person I can't do it. My mother was prescribed methadone for her Neuropathy while living in Florida. Since then she has moved back to Michigan by necessity. She left her job to move to Georgia with her husband who was a military vet. He got OxyContin from the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta for his back issues. With her having no insurance he used to share with her. Now he's dead and we moved her back here to Michigan. I am addicted to strong pain meds and I am tired of having to come off of them, the withdrawal is awful. I went to a urgent care doc and was prescribed suboxone. I take anxiety meds too but he wants me to stop. I really need the anxiety meds but he wants me off them. Been on 60mg of methadone for the past 12 years, been seeing alta pain clinic in Sandy, Utah. I provided them with a copy of the EKG that I have an upper gi burning that they wanted to run few tests and one of them was EKG last August one of the urgent care after hours because it was on the weekend, alta pain been asking me to get an EKG for the past few months and i gave them the one I had by urgent care, when they looked at EKG they said oh you're fine you're very lucky because your heart is fine and it's okay, all the sudden as of January 1st visit He tells me that oh you have a QT prolongation your hearts we want to switch your med's, anyway they put me on Opana er 30 mg twice a day with a cocktail of oxycodone Ir 10mg 4 times a day and 10 mg Valium three times a day...

Go to their website and look it up. ## BL is correct, the rules are the same. If he was taking it for addiction/maintenance treatment, then regular doctors have never been able to prescribe it for that. That can only be done in a clinical setting by those specially trained in its use for such. And for pain, the new regulations concern all narcotics, not just Methadone. I hate going to the clinic EVERY SINGLE morning and worse than that, it cost.me almost 8,000$ a year!!! Was taking 30-40 mg of Methadone per day for chronic,severe pain. Dr lost his controlled substance license and I was left "out in the cold" per se. Now..hurt so bad..quality of life is nil. Struggled with severe migraines since childhood. Double Visio, nausea, was on imitrex, torodol, topaz, too many yo name. Finally found relief with generic hydro of one, but then decided to manage everything by switching to suboxone. Since the pain factor is not effected one way or another, a friend had mentioned her chronic pain controlled by methadone. Don’t know where in Columbia SC to find a doctor or if this is some place you have to visit everyday. That would be expensive gas and interfere with my career.
