White With 853

So recently I received a white Watson 853 that looks identical to the yellow ones; size, shape, imprint. Everything checks out except it does not feel as strong as the yellow. I was then told that Watson is not manufacturing yellow ones anymore so I checked the Watson/actavis website. They had no info on white 853. Are these fake? ## Hi Michael, Where a bouts did you get the pill from? If you didn't purchase it from an authorized seller, you could most definitely have a counterfeit. The only other thing I can think of, is that it may just be an old version that is no longer on the market. My latest Watson 853s are slightly smaller, the score line a tad thinner & the color isn't as white. It looks like it's not as shiny, maybe less coating, & the color has kind of a bluish tint to the white. I had a few of my old ones to compare them to, otherwise I might not have noticed. I read on other boards that Watson had been bought by Actavis & didn't know if this was their version of the Watsons. I have always taken the Watson 853 yellow pill and for some reason I was just given Watson 853 white pills. What is going on? Why the color difference? ## It seems from other posts made on here recently that Watson is just removing the dyes from some of their products. There have been some complaints from people that have had sensitivity or allergic reactions to them, so they have been doing away with them. However, as long as the imprint is the same and your pharmacy has listed it as being the same medication and the same dosage, then you shouldn't have any reason to worry. No worries people, the yellow 853 are exactly the same as the white one's, JUST NO DYE ## For anyone else wondering, I can also confirm that "dye" is the only thing separating these two pills. I've got the white Watson 853's. I also feel less pain relief from them. I also have mild signs of withdrawal moderate head ache, nervousness and shaking. If indeed they were 10/325 they'd at least care of a head ache. Right? Not having the oringinal prescription I can't read the micro print to see if they're a placebo. Doctors do prescribe placebos to see if you're in pain or not. I fact I can could spend hours telling you what kind of games/tricks that doctors will play. I just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. I have been on Norco for years . I have used it in conjunction with Roxicodode with great sucess. Now that I have switched to the white version I am having serious problems controling my pain. I don't believe they just removed the dye. This white Norco has become a placebo falling far short of the results I once had. Now I am in scramble mode to find a replacement for the old yellow Norco. Walgreens has told me they have had several calls with other pain patients suffering from the new White Norco. Obviously Watson drug has altered the Norco to increase profits at the patients expense. I'm not sure why ppl are having different reactions but i myself have taken hydrodone almost 16 yrs now for MS. then developed AML also . Found this pill with Watson 853 on it. This was broken in half on the floor, the person is pregnant and has a toddler in the house. Could she be taking this pregnant??? I have taken both and let me say that there is nothing different in the white Watson's vs the yellow ones except the yellow dye. Its all in your head if u think that they wont work as well they wont and they are FDA regulated so believe me the people calling there pharmacy saying they dont work are looking like drug users. ## I had both yellow and white 853's, asked the wife not to tell me which one......after two days outside of a lucky guess which was which.....never could tell difference. I've been taking the Watson 853 yellow hydro /acetaminophen for several years. I get them from a well known pharmacy company. My most recent script was filled and I noticed the color was white, even though the markings of Watson 853 are identical to the light yellow pill. There was a huge difference in side effects with the new pill; constipation, dry mouth, and a little nasal congestion that I typically get from preservatives like sulfites. A friend of mine received some white watson853's I took 3 and felt nothing. And I live in a very small town in thevery middle of the US . I guess what I'm saying is they got here in new the Boones fast! ## Unfortunately fake pills are continuously being dispersed all across the country and the scary part is that they're pressed to look identical to their real counterparts; potentially containing anything from poisonous substances and illicit drugs to other harmful inactive ingredients. There is a diff between yellow and white pills. Been taking yellows now for eight years or so. I was switched to the white ones about six months ago, and let me tell you its been a nightmare. pain is still present just a little weaker. Only last for 2-3 hours unlike the 5-6 hrs on yellows nausea 24/7 have to eat when taking them or I throw up. itchy everywhere cant sleep, extreme dry mouth, constipation much more frequent. Finally a bad buzzing in my head that wont go away. So YES there is something that was switched not the dye only. I have been taking this medication for 5 years. I experience no difference between the yellow ones or the white ones. I think that some people may be building up a tolerance and that is why they believe the formula has changed, when you n fact they have simply just removed the dye.
