A prescription from 2008 is most probably out of date. I take this medication every day for a chronic condition and would never take a pill that old, even if I had significant pain. Call your local pharmacist for more info. ## I have been told to not take pain meds over one year old, however I was told by a pharmacist that it would be ok, however I just don't think I personally would risk taking anything more than the expiration date if more than a year old. Just my opinion.

The prescription is from 2008. Is it save to take? ## Hello, Bob! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. This medication does not get dangerous, once expired, but it does start to lose effectiveness. Under optimal storage conditions in the original factory sealed container, it would only last about 4 years and you cannot safely take multiples due to the Acetaminophen in them. Thus, it would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything...

can you tell me if this medication is hydrocodone? it is an old prescription and I want to dispose of it properly ## Proper disposal isn't dependent on the type of medication, the FDA guidelines are the same for all prescription or over the counter medications. They recommend that you mix them in with some moist, undesirable substance, such as used cat litter or coffee grounds, place the mess into a sealed container and then put it into the trash. Alternatively, you can take them to any local pharmacy and they will gladly dispose of them for you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I found a white oval shaped pill and needing to know what it is. It's white oval shaped and has 334 on the front and blank on the back.

What's the difference between the white oval pill m366 and peach colored 3605 ## Hello, Wendy! How are you? They both contain 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone, they are just manufactured by different companies. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is there a difference between the pills imprinted with g036 and m366? I have not noticed a difference but wonder why I got different pills from my Dr. or pharmacy? ## When a medication is available for generic production, it is normal for it to be manufactured by several different companies, and the FDA requires them all to use unique markings, so they can be traced back to a specific manufacturer, in case of emergency. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications? Have you experienced any problem with these tablets?

what is the difference between m 366 oval and white and the 10/36 tellow oval ## I know the yellow oval is commonly refereed to as a norco and that the white oval is a vicodin. Why the difference and is one more powerful when were talking about pain relief. Also if Tylenol is taken in addition to either of these pain killers is the ability to kill pain enhanced . thanks rick ## The tablet with the M 366 marking contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The tablet with the 3601 V marking contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. So, the latter is stronger, because it has more of the narcotic ingredient. Learn more Vicodin details here. As to the Acetaminophen, they both already contain it and, since too much of it in any 24 hour period is toxic, you rea...

found a half of an oblong white pill with the numbers 99 (I think) or possibly 66 on floor in sons bathroom...WHAT IS THIS PILL? There is nothing on the other side. Can't see a score line either, break is jagged ## Based on a possible imprint of "66", this could be a number of different pills. Listed below are two pills that I felt came closest to your description: There is a white oblong shaped pill marked "M366" on one side and blank on the other. This is Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone (325mg/7.5mg); also known as Vicodin. There is another white oblong pill marked "IP 466" on side and blank on the other. This is Ibuprofen (800mg). It's nearly impossible to identify something with a partial marking like that, but hopefully this can at least help to narrow d...

I've taken Hydrocodone 10/325 for years for chronic back pain. With it being moved to a class 2 from class 3 I cannot get my med. Filled. I ask my doctor to change/rewrite script For 7.5 hydrocodone, why does the 7.5 script seem stronger than the 10/325. Has the formulas changed. It's crazy what's happening to Chronic pain suffers all over the nation! Any advice is helpful. Why is one melagram of the same medication plentiful and others of the same medication not. I should not have had to lower my dosage strength in order to have any quality of life. Thx ## The forumla hasn't changed. It may be that the manufacturer is uisng more of the active ingredient in the 7.5 than the 10. Generics can have a varing degree of active ingredients. For example, if the rx is suppose to h...

white oblong tablet markings on one side m366 ## Hydrocodone bitartrate + Acetaminophen 7.5 mg / 325 mg (M366) by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals This is really generic Norco, and not generic Vicodin... The Vicodin strength closest to this is 7.5mg/750 mg ## That ID is correct, though since they contain the same ingredients, most doctors and pharmacists use Norco and Vicodin interchangably. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have been taking Norco light orange, V 36 05, now I was given Norco white M366, which has a better reputation for pain relief? ## Hello, Pay! How are you? I've been taking the light pink or orange generic Norco now they gave me this M366 smaller white pill. Every time I take it I get nauseated. Why? They should be the same....but something is making me nauseated. I've called my pharmacist and they say it should be the same. Has anyone got any ideas? I'm taking it just like I did the other one. ## Hello, Leah! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Generic medications are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% of the active ingredients, as set forth by the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984 and they don't have to measure against each other, so there's a chance that this new one is a bit stronger, which could explain the nausea. The FDA classifies this medication as a na...
