does this pill require a prescription? ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Ibuprofen (800 mg). Low doses of ibuprofen (200 mg, and sometimes 400 mg) are available over the counter (OTC) in most countries. Generally, the oral dose is 200 to 400 mg (510 mg/kg in children) every 46 hours, adding up to a usual daily dose of 800 to 1,200 mg. 1,200 mg is considered the maximum daily dose for over-the-counter use, though under medical direction, the maximum amount of ibuprofen for adults is 800 milligrams per dose or 3200 mg per day (4 maximum doses). oval white pill with IP466 on one side ## I believe IP 466 to be Ibuprofen 800 mg, although information on this pill is vague. Another related discussion thread on this site also implies an 800 mg Motrin (which contains Ibuprofen as the active ingredient). The manufacturer is reportedly Amneal. Do you have any other questions or information to add? Please post back if you do... ## I have same looking pill, while oblong, largish, but with a deep score or line in the middle on the other side. IP 466 one side, line/score in the middle on reverse side. I've seen pics of IBuprofen, but it doesn't look like that because they were smooth on one side; didn't have the score. Any clues?

I have two pills that are 800 mg Ibuprofen one has I8 on one side and the other pill has IP466 is there any difference in these two pills? ## No, they have just been made by different manufacturers. It's pretty common, once a medication is available as a generic and each manufacturer has to use different markings, so the pills can be traced back to them in case of an emergency. Learn more Ibuprofen details here. This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

They work great for me but a short time ago I started to vomit blood, I was also taking asprin . Is there any thing I can do to be able to take I b466 and be safe? ## Have you had yourself checked out to see why you were vomiting blood? That's really the first thing you need to do. Many times when that happens, it's due to either an ulcer, or gastritis and then it may not be a good idea to take Aspirin or this Ibuprofen tablet for awhile, until you can get it cleared up. Learn more Ibuprofen details here.

do the Ibuprofen IP 466 and the Ibuprofen I8 have the same exact inactive ingredients? I have gotten muscle pain and headaches with the I8 and never got them with the IP466 I thought maybe something was different in the inactive ingredients. can you please help me ## Hello, Kate! How are you? As long as they are using ones from the FFA approved list, none of them have to be the same from one manufacturer to the other, so yes, it could be the in actives that are causing your problem. Headaches can also be side effects of NSAIDs, though most people take them to treat headaches. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

This tablet contains 800mgs of Ibuprofen, a generic for prescription strength Motrin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Do you have any other questions? ## Incorrect Verwon, even in the reply thread you posted the pill description and picture does not match. The correct match to IP466 is Carisoprodol, commonly referred to as Soma. I have this prescription at the highest level dose ( 350MG [comes in either 250or360] ). Can u take two 800mg ip466 at once? Serious toothache and one pill isn't working! Will it hurt my child since I'm breast feeding ## Hi Relly, Unfortunately, the maximum amount of Ibuprofen for adults is 800 mgs per dose or 3200 mgs per day (equivalent to 4 maximum doses), depending on each individuals response and tolerance. So you'd essentially only be able to take one of those "IP 466" pills at a time (4x daily). If I could recommend something else that may be more effective for your toothache, it would probably be pure vanilla extract and/or clove essential oil. I've used both before and they helped num any sort of pain I had and also alleviated some discomfort. Both of those options contain powerful antibacterial properties (unlike Ibuprofen) that are really ...
