I have always taken the Watson 853 yellow pill, for some reason i was just dive Watson 853 white pills. What is going on ? Why the color difference ?? ## It seems from other posts made on here recently that Watson is just removing the dyes from some of their products. There have been some complaints from people that have had sensitivity or allergic reactions to them, so they have been doing away with them. Learn more Norco details here. However, as long as the imprint is the same and your pharmacy has listed it as being the same medication and the same dosage, then you shouldn't have any reason to worry. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Not the same for sure! ## I have experienced poor results with the white pills. If they are different and labelled the same then walgre... ...

No worries people, the yellow 853 are exactly the same as the white one's, JUST NO DYE ## For anyone else wondering, I can also confirm that "dye" is the only thing separating these two pills. According to nih.gov, the 10 mg/325 mg and 10 mg/750 mg tablets include "D&C Yellow #10 Aluminum Lake" You can learn more about this drug on the page for Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone I hope this helps! ## Well, jbone & David, I can't see why so many, myself included, have had such ad reactions to the white Watsons. I don't take narcotics often but I did for 11 years. I have never had this type of problem with hydrocodone as I did last week! It didn't touch my pain at all and it made me very sick! Something is going on with them, most definitely! ## There is s... ...

I've got the white Watson 853's. I also feel less pain relief from them. I also have mild signs of withdrawal moderate head ache, nervousness and shaking. If indeed they were 10/325 they'd at least care of a head ache. Right? Not having the oringinal prescription I can't read the micro print to see if they're a placebo. Doctors do prescribe placebos to see if you're in pain or not. I fact I can could spend hours telling you what kind of games/tricks that doctors will play. I know because I've been treated for chronic pain since 1996. Some doctor are worse than others. But, it always comes down to them not wanting their names appearing on a DEA agents desk. Many pain doctors won't prescribe cause they're needle jockies. At a pain clinic the CNP prescri... ...

So recently I received a white Watson 853 that looks identical to the yellow ones; size, shape, imprint. Everything checks out except it does not feel as strong as the yellow. I was then told that Watson is not manufacturing yellow ones anymore so I checked the Watson/actavis website. They had no info on white 853. Are these fake? ## Hi Michael, Where a bouts did you get the pill from? If you didn't purchase it from an authorized seller, you could most definitely have a counterfeit. The only other thing I can think of, is that it may just be an old version that is no longer on the market. I believe Actavis pharmaceuticals now owns Watson pharmaceuticals so here is a link to the contact page of Actavis Pharma's website if you'd like to ask them about the pill you have: actavi... ...

I have been on Norco for years . I have used it in conjunction with Roxicodode with great sucess. Now that I have switched to the white version I am having serious problems controling my pain. I don't believe they just removed the dye. This white Norco has become a placebo falling far short of the results I once had. Now I am in scramble mode to find a replacement for the old yellow Norco. Walgreens has told me they have had several calls with other pain patients suffering from the new White Norco. Obviously Watson drug has altered the Norco to increase profits at the patients expense. How surprising. I will update fellow sufferers of the new bad White Norco with an alternative as soon as my Pain Clinic can finda replacement. I'm not sure why ppl are having different reactions but i myself have taken hydrodone almost 16 yrs now for MS. then developed AML also . I've had every form of it. i know the exact feeling i get starting with in my head, chest ,stomach ,etc as it's working . these are hydro. they're actually stronger than the yellow I've took 6yrs. it actually made me sick first dose cz I'm used to taking 2at time ,so did with these. only question i have is why do they start dissolving immediately in my mouth &why do they taste so strong ?? I don't remember that before ## The fast dissolving and stronger taste may just be due to them not having a coating on them, while many of the others do. Some manufacturers use a coating to make their pills easier to swallow and to pre... ...

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Watson 853 White or Yellow Pill
39 Replies RSS
I've been taking the Watson 853 yellow hydro /acetaminophen for several years. I get them from a well known pharmacy company. My most recent script was filled and I noticed the color was white, even though the markings of Watson 853 are identical to the light yellow pill. There was a huge difference in side effects with the new pill; constipation, dry mouth, and a little nasal congestion that I typically get from preservatives like sulfites. Many people get these symptoms when taking narcotics, but I have been fortunate with the hydrocodone as it has never affected me that way (oxycodone does however) I called the pharmacist and he said he couldn't get the yellow tabs anymore but wouldn't say one way or the other whether the formulation or fillers in the white pill differ fr... ...

THE 853 NORCO DOES NOT HELP MY PAIN AS WELL AS THE YELLOW TINTED ONES. PLUS THEY UPED THE PRICE DOUBLE. ## I used CVS for my prescriptions until last month, when I tried Walgreens to fill my script for Norco 10/325. When I saw they were white instead of yellow I thought I was given the 5/500 strength in error, since I knew those are white. I called Walgreens and was assured these Watson 853's were the exact same ingredients as the Norco 10/325. After taking my usual dosage, I was shocked to feel almost no relief....maybe 10% relief. After this happened, i went on the internet and read about others who had the same bad experience. Today when I got my new script I went back to Walgreens and told the pharmacy I wanted the other generic, NOT the Watson 853. They said that's the only... ...

A friend of mine received some white watson853's I took 3 and felt nothing. And I live in a very small town in thevery middle of the US . I guess what I'm saying is they got here in new the Boones fast! ## Unfortunately fake pills are continuously being dispersed all across the country and the scary part is that they're pressed to look identical to their real counterparts; potentially containing anything from poisonous substances and illicit drugs to other harmful inactive ingredients. However if you fill your prescription at a licensed pharmacy you shouldn't have to worry about a thing. Personally, I just don't think risking one's life for such a temporary fix is worth it and I truly hope those who really need this medication consult with their doctor for a safe... ...

There is a diff between yellow and white pills. Been taking yellows now for eight years or so. I was switched to the white ones about six months ago, and let me tell you its been a nightmare. pain is still present just a little weaker. Only last for 2-3 hours unlike the 5-6 hrs on yellows nausea 24/7 have to eat when taking them or I throw up. itchy everywhere cant sleep, extreme dry mouth, constipation much more frequent. Finally a bad buzzing in my head that wont go away. So YES there is something that was switched not the dye only. But I did read somewhere that Activis will lower hydro amt until sales increase then they will fill all ten mgs back into pill. Ok I see what there doing there making you addicted by lowering content so you need and buy more the after being hooked they res... ...

I have been taking this medication for 5 years. I experience no difference between the yellow ones or the white ones. I think that some people may be building up a tolerance and that is why they believe the formula has changed, when you n fact they have simply just removed the dye. Discuss your concerns with your doctor. ## Hello, Jkerr! How are you? I'm very glad that this medication is still working for you. There can be slight fluctuations from one generic to another and some people are sensitive to any slight change, so they may find that it doesn't work as well for them. I just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. But the Norco you're referring to is the same medication that you were prescribed prior. It is just as effective as the script you had filled before this one and it's a good thing that you ask the pharmacist, the pharmacist is correct. ## LuLu is correct and so was your pharmacist. Hello all, I am a longtime chronic pain sufferer. I have taken opiates for pain for over 10 years. I recently got a prescription filled (from a well known pharmacy chain in the U.S.) and I was given these new Watson 853 white (not yellow) hydro 10/325 pills. I wanted to ask the forum here if any of you have had the same experience with them as I have. I know there are some very smart people with advanced chemistry knowledge here that may have delved deeper into whats going on with these things. They are ineffective for me. I've taken hydrocodone 10/325 for 10+ years and have never ever had a problem with pills being ineffective but that is the case with these pills.
