white oval pill 5898 ## I was prescribed this pill for a staph infection. It is supposed to be stronger than normal antibiotics for staph and also work on those staph infections that are the drug resistance ones. The pill is actually called cotrimoxazole ds--po tab. I'm assuming the PO meanby mouth then tablet. Thru searches I have found this to also be called Cotrim Oral and Bactrim as well. It states that there are alot of medications you can't be on to take this medication. I didn't take all of it, so I didn't real ly suffer any side effects. I did however see that it states it can make you dizzy and you should avoid prolonged or excessive exposure to direct and/or artificial sunlight and that you should take this medication with plenty of water. ## This pill is a com...

Would like to know what antibiotic this is. V is on one side and 5838 is on the other. ## Is the marking possible 5898 V? The numbers are a little difficult to read. The "A" is actually a cursive "V" on one side, and on the other is 58 | 98 separated by a score line. Does this sound correct to you?
