Iv been off birth control for about 5 months now.. im taking escitalopram for anxity and depression and omeprazole for acid reflux... can that cause a miscarriage? ## There is a warning against taking it during the first 3 months of pregnancy, since there might be some risks, according to NIH warnings, such as fetal birth defects, or miscarriage. It would be best to make sure your doctor knows that you were taking it, so they can monitor you, as necessary. Toni, have you consulted your doctor about what is safe for you to take? Hi all, I had mirena inserted 6 weeks after my daughter was born so July of '09 I had it in for 3 years and thought all was well. I am 24 years old and already have 3 children so in other words very fertile.Anyways I would have occasional bleeding that never felt like a real period until the third year when it stopped completely. Shortly after I started having severe cramps, fatigue, worse depression, loss of libido, fogginess, an extreme hair loss. Once the cramps started to feel like I was in labor I started to look into it. I knew it was the mirena so had it removed right away. I started bleeding very lightly 2 weeks later for only a few days, then about 6 weeks later I bled like crazy! And have had horrible cramps. I always had very light short periods before mirena and never ha...

I'm on Xarelto and I've been taking it for 8 months. I just found out I'm 7 weeks pregnant, so I've stopped taking my pills for a week now until i get the inj's. Meanwhile, did I harm my unborn by taking this medication? ## At this point, the FDA lists this information as being unknown, though so far, no toxicity has been seen. They do, however, warn that a miscarriage, or taking it during labor could result in dangerous levels of bleeding. Which shot are they switching you to? Are you on any other medications? Congratulations on the pregnancy!

I just started taking Celexa tonight 2.5mg to ease into it. I am extremely sensitive to medications. I took prozac last year after devastating miscarriage. I have been off it a year and now my depression and anxiety is back with a vengeance. Help! I feel like my anxiety and depression is worse and it was a super low dose? I'm worried it won't work as I tried to go back on prozac but the side effects were too much. ## Actually, if you read the information provided by the FDA and the NIH, it is very common for this to happen, when you start taking such a medication. They can actually worsen things for about 3 weeks, or so, until your body gets used to the medication. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. However, if you feel that...

I had bleeding in 4th week of pregnancy. My dr stopped Ecosprin 75mg and advised Bedrest. Its all normal now after she did scan. She has again prescribed Ecosprin for coming 2 weeks. I'm worried if it can restart bleeding. ## HI, Preeti! So sorry about the problem you're having. Has your doctor done any blood work? Yes, the Ecosprin may cause more bleeding. But, in most cases, bleeding during pregnancy is caused by a lack of Progesterone, which should be supplemented back to prevent miscarriage. ## Hai doctor,i am pavani 34 year old. Hi-I have been on Zoloft 150 (Sertraline) for 5 weeks. I jumped really quickly--I started on 50 then 75 for a day or two then 100 for two days and have been on 150 ever since. So basically, low levels for a week then 150. In the past few weeks, I have had shaky hands and a few days ago had itchy skin (which I know could be anything) and leg soreness like I worked out really hard (I have worked out twice in a week) so nothing too crazy. I am very bothered by this--I was on Zoloft before and had no issues. I am also taking (for short period) Klonopin for sleep 1-1.5mg/night. Any thoughts? I feel better but not 100% more like 50-60%. Still get nervous, I also had a miscarriage (ectopic) and had methotrexate about a month ago. Any thoughts? THANKS! update: doctor told me to drop to 100 for ...

I've been on Suboxone since April 2012. Last week I found out I am pregnant, and am about four weeks along. I called my doctor who prescribes the Suboxone, and she has left me with a difficult ultimatem. She has prescribed subutex for a week, and then my treatment is up to me. I either need to go to methadone clinic (which is too far for me to drive daily, and id have to win the lotto to afford it) or risk a miscarriage by not taking anything. She will only help me for a week. I've contacted the Suboxone hotline, and women can take subutex or methadone while pregnant with less risk than Suboxone. Where can I look.for another doctor? I feel like no one will want to treat me since my doc is basically throwing me out. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas of where I can look.for.h...

I m 13 weeks pregnant, my doctor has advised to take Dubagest 200 (dosage: Twice a Day) from starting of 9th week and recommended to continue till 16th week of pregnancy. Could you please advise is it safe to take the above medicine in 2nd trimester. also advise r there any side effects of this medicine. I had miscarriage 2 and half years back. Pls reply ASAP! ## Dubagest contains Progesterone, many miscarriages are caused by a woman not producing enough of it naturally. Thus, your doctor is trying to help ensure that you carry this baby to full term by supplementing it for you to be safe. It can wake up the estrogen in your body, so you may experience nausea, headache, irritability and dizziness. Are there any other questions or concerns?
