How do I take control when Propolol causes irregular heart beat, dizziness, very low diastolic Bp and slow pulse and your MD refuses to take you off the med and you don't want to have a heart attact going off it? ## Hi, Ruth! If the Propranolol is causing you that many problems and your doctor won't help, then I have to say that it's time to get a new doctor. You aren't obligated to keep seeing him anymore than he is obligated to keep seeing you. You are free to leave at any time. You don't even have to tell him ahead of time, you can keep him on the back burner, so you still have this medication for now, while you start looking for another doctor. If you find one, then you can have your records transferred. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have poorly controled diabetes with a sleeping disorder and I take two 50mg of amitriptyline. What can I do to help with my heart beating at an alarming rate of 130 to 138 beats per minute Without lowering my intake of the amitriptyline, for it is helpping with my sleeping disorder (because sleeping pills dont work alone) and with my neuropathy pain (nerve damage) in my feet, legs and hands. ## Amitriptyline can increase your blood sugar. Please get it under control. It will slow the heart rate, make you feel better and have less nerve pain. Diabetes and Amitriptyline are not the best of friends.
