I've been off Percocet 10mg since January 19th 2015 in which I went from taking 4 to 8 a day to taking none. I had taken Norco 10 from 1996 until May of 2010 and had done great on the Norco but ruptured a disk in my neck & had to go to something stronger until I was evaluated for surgery. I was not a candidate for surgery so I started neurontin to try to give it time to heal. It did heal but by that time I was stuck on the percocet. Back to present day my pain has started coming back so I want to get ahead of it but not back to the percocet. My question is since my system has detoxed from the percocet, will the norco 10 help with the pain? ## Hello, Anna! How are you? The only way to find out is to try it and see. Some people tend to keep their tolerance, even if they've bee... ...

hi, ive been on Norco 10/325 for about two years now and my pain on a scale of 1-10 is a 10, what could I take that is stronger, ive thought about Percocet for a while but not sure. thanks nona ## Hi nona, Sorry to hear about the challenges you're having with pain management. A few other options that come to mind as far as being something potentially stronger than Norco, are those names listed below: Percocet Percodan Meperidine Dextropropoxyphene Hydromorphone (Opana) Although medications like percocet or percodan may be similar in potency to norco, the fact of the matter is that each type of drug can, and often does effect each personal differently (largely influenced by one's individual tolerance and body chemistry). So no matter which medication you end up going with, there... ...

I'm taking percocet 10/650mg. I have (DDD), (Athritis), and the list goes on. I have a friend on Norco. Can you tell me what the difference is between them and the highest mg the norco comes in? THANK YOU SO MUCH! ## The Percocet is way better then the Norco, and the reason is because Percocet contains Oxycodone and Norco contains Hydrocodone. What im trying to say is Oxycodone is a stronger and longer lasting Opiate then Norco. {Edited for safety} just make sure to watch how much Tylenol/Acetaminophen ur taking, try not to take more 4000 to 5000mgs cause it can damage ur liver. The best Percocet you can get is 10-650 and 10-325 The best Norco you can get is 10-325 or Lorcets which are 10-650 . I've been taking Norco 10/3.25 for years for severe chronic pain--It's now no longer effective at all--I'm wondering about changing to Percocet 10/3.25 and whether this would be a stronger, more effective and longer lasting med to take--I've tried also Oxy.10 mg. hcl and they work so so and notice I need to take way more often than I ever did with Norco. I don't want to go this route at all!! I'm hoping the Percocet would change all this. Does it? ## I personally was in the same situation as you and I changed from Norco to percocet 10 325. It's much more effective then the Norco was but they have the same time frames. I sampled for a while 15 milligram oxycodones and didn't like those because there is no acetaminophen. I have been taking norco for about ten years now and I now have a tolerance to it. For the norco to work for me I have to take more pills than what my doctor can prescribe. So I have run out of my Norco and my doctor prescribed me Percocet 7.5/325, but since I have never taken it before he said to only take 4 in 24 hours and see if it will work. Well, it is not working at all !!! I am going through withdrawals . I have emailed my doctor and tried to tell him this but I haven't heard back from him. I want to take more of the Percocet but I don't want to overdose. What can I do? ## There is a chart available, the link is you can see that Oxycodone in actually stronger than Hydrocodone. The problem could be either due to your having developed a high tolerance to opiates, or if you... ...

How much stronger is the percocet than the norco? ## Hello, April! How are you? For each 10mgs of Hydrocodone in the Norco, you only need 6.67mgs of the Oxycodone in the Percocet. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I hav been on norco tens four a day for two years. i hav become addicted. can i take a percocet ten mg to help withdraw symptoms ## Yes, any opiate medication will help with withdrawel. ## I'm so sorry to hear. My doctor gave me Percocet 7.5-325..Half a tablet twice a day, doesn't seem to be working well with my breakthrough pain. I'm also on 30mg of morphine 2x daily. Will switching over to Norco 7.5-325 2x daily help better? ## According to NIH reports, the Oxycodone in Percocet is stronger than the Hydrocodone in Norco. They also warn that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. However, I am curious as to why they only have you taking half a tablet, twice a day? That is a very, very low dosage. Are you on any other medications? What condition is being treated? ## Thank you for your response..My doc had me on one Percocet 5/325 once a day but he said raising the quantity to ... ...

What is the medication with these markings IP204? ## This tablet contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, this combination could be considered a generic for either one, though many doctors refer to Lorcet as being the product that contains 650mgs of the Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic pain reliever, so it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with? ## My apologies, it's been one of those mornings. Lorcet would actually contain Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, so the tablet you were asking about would be a generic for Percocet, because it contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen. ## which is considered a stronger medication overall, Lorecet or Norco? I've been taking norco 10-325 for approximately 1 1/2 years due to a herniated disc. I had a laminecty and partial discecty this morning. I was prescribed Percocet 10-325 and Valium 5mg and was instructed to continue all previous medications. I was unsure about taking the norco and the Percocet both but the Percocet is not relieving the pain. Can I take them both. ## The risk of taking both is due to the Acetaminophen that they both contain, according to NIH reports, Acetaminophen toxicity risks causing fatal health conditions. Percocet is stronger than Norco, so if it is not helping your pain, you should consult your doctor, because you may need to try something else. The norcos made me energetic and I wasn't hoping to achieve that with Percocets since they're stronger. Tia ## Hello, Mar! How are you? I have been on Norco 10/325 for 7 years for chronic pain and disc problems. Needless to say they quit working. Dr just switched me to Percocet 10. Is this stronger and will it help my pain? ## Hi Bridget, Sorry to hear about your situation. To answer your question though, YES, the 10mgs of Oxycodone contained in Perocet 10/325 is reported to be more potent than 10mgs of Hydrocodone in Norco 10/325. As to how much stronger it is, answers do vary... but from what I've researched, it's analgesic effects appear to be about 1.5-3x stronger. The difference is, Percocet is short acting drug with tylenol, Oxycontin is much stronger and is a time releasing drug with semi-synthetic opiate derived from an element of morphine. ## Percocet is not cut with aspirin...it is cut with tylenol ## Oxicottin is an opiate oxicodonen and hydrocodon are synthetic base with either a spring or Tylenol like. 5/325 5 grams of the narcotic / 325 of the asprin. Lora tab 10mg/750 10 narcotic / over 750 tylenol. Vicodon. 5 narcotic / either 500 or 750 tylenol. Norco is 5 narcotic / 325 tylenol or actiminphine. That is the generic name for tylenol. is there a 15 mg hydrocodone pill
23 Replies RSS
i take norco 10/325 and wonder is there a stronger hydrocodone pill such as 15/325 ## No, the maximum amount currently available on the market is 10mgs of Hydrocodone. The only way to get a higher dosage than that is if your doctor specially orders it and it is put together for you by a compounding pharmacy. Hydrocodone is a potent narcotic and is rarely given in higher doses. Usually, when someone isn't getting the pain relief they need from it, they move on to something else, such as Percocet, which contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. It is still a narcotic and can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## Try not to go up to percet. my Dr has changed my medication fron norco to percocet, and now my feet and ankles are swelling severely. What is the difference between hydrocodone and oxycodone? ## They are both narcotic analgesics, however, the Oxycodone is stronger than they Hydrocodone. Oxycodone, by itself, doesn't usually cause peripheral edema, however, it could be the Acetaminophen, since it can sometimes cause people to retain fluids and, if that is what is causing it, it would have also happened with the Norco. Have you consulted your doctor? Whenever edema occurs, it is very important to discover what is causing it, since it can be a sign of other serious medical conditions. Even swelling of the feet and legs can be a sign of congestive heart failure. ## This isn't listed as a common side effect in ... ...
