How are you? Some of them contain Acetaminophen, because it augments the narcotic opiate and helps it work better, so it has a stronger effect and works better to relieve pain. However, the narcotic is still effective without it and it isn't necessary to prescribe one that contains Acetaminophen for everyone. It can be very rough on the liver, especially if someone is taking high amount...

Well my dr has me takin 10/325 hydrocodone but is switchin me to percoset jus wanted opinion on what was stronger ## The Oxycodone in the Percocet is stronger than the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin, and otherwise they both also contain Acetaminophen to enhance its effectiveness. 10mgs of Hydrocodone is equivalent to 6.67mgs of Oxycodone, so you will probably get better pain relief from the Percocet. Since it is also a narcotic, the side effects will be similar to what you are used to, nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been hurting for three months. My primary docotor gave me hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-650 which has reduced the pain but not takin it away. I was in the ER and they placed me on morophine for 16 hours, I felt no...

This is to answer the question is there a higher dose form of norco the answer is yes it's called Zohydro it was made here in San Diego and has been approved by the Fda and Sea but it might be hard to find and the insurance company might not cover it, it's and extended version kinda like oxycontin for oxycodone and it comes in different doses. Fact not fiction. ## Just to clarify, Zohydro only contains Hydrocodone, in a time released formulation. It does not contain Acetaminophen, like Norco does. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any questions or concerns? ## verwon you are just right as for the side effects but it comes in dosage as l...

7.5-750 Vicodin or 5-325 Percocet --- Which is stronger? ## Hello, Jan! How are you? These are actually equivalent. So, neither is really stronger, it just depends which works better for you. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Vicodine IS Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is the name of opiate found in many different types of pain meds. Same as Oxycodone is the type of opiate found in percocets, tylox, roxicets, etc. Lortab, vicodine, hydrocodone, and many others are same just different names. It's the mg and the other stuff in pain pills that is what's important. ## Obviously percoce...

I have leg and back pain were I can't even walk or even lay down which hydrocodone is best for me!? ## Dear Barbara, the only difference is the amount of Tylenol in them. The 325 have less Tylenol than the 750. Some Drs. Will give the 325 b cause 2 much Tylenol can cause liver problems. p.s. Tylenol is same name 4 acetaminophen. ## Hello, Barbara! How are you? Actually, you have no choice but to go with the one that contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, because the others are no longer available, they were all removed from the market as of the 1st of the year. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Were they taken of...

I have been taking Hydrocodone 10/325 for chronic pain, 1 pill every 6 hours. My Dr. just prescribed Oxycodone 5/325 with up to 2 pills every 6 hours. Which is stronger? ## The oxy is stronger but who knows your body may b used 2 the vicoden. But if he is allowing u 2 take 2 @ a time it would b better if he would just give u the percocet 10/325 as it would b as effective with 1/2 the amount of aspirin. Try it out n post your feedback. ## Scott is correct, the Oxycodone is actually stronger than the Hydrocodone. To equal 10mgs of the Hydrocodone, you only need 6.67mgs of the Oxycodone, so I'd advise caution when you first take them, you probably shouldn't take 2 of them, until you try one and see how well it works for you. Are there any questions or comments? ## Thank you for the...

I take 3 Tylenol 4's a day & just got 7.5/325mg hydrocodone today. Would lortab 10 or tylenol #4 be stronger than 7.5 hydrocodone? I did not get the script filled yet. Thank you. ## Loratab 7.5 is somewhat stronger than Tylenol 4, and normally preffered by pain patients over the codeine in the 4's. The 10's are stronger than the 7.5's. Hope that helped. ## Just wanted to add that according to clinical trials cited on nih.gov, "hydrocodone may be a more effective pain reliever than codeine when it comes to acute musculoskeletal pain. Such results were demonstrated by having significantly fewer treatment failures among patients taking hydrocodone." Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1928881 This information should help verify the statements made by post #1 to be true...

I have a bad back and just got the new ones today the 7.5-325. which one of the to is stronger for me to use or should I call my Doctor. ## Hello, Gregory! How are you? That is correct, the ones with the higher amount of Acetaminophen in them are no longer available. If you were taking 7.5/750 and now have 10/325 they are pretty close to being equivalent, but you should consult your doctor to be certain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Dear Gregory, the only difference is the amount of acetaminophen (Tylenol) in them. The strength is still the same, but, has less Tylenol . So, the 325 has less Tylenol than the 750. ## I take 10mg 325 is that stronger than 7.5mg 700. M...

I have 2 different prescriptions for after knee surgery. Which is stronger for pain? ## Hi, Louise! How are you feeling? Since the Acetaminophen augments the action of the Hydrocodone in these, they are both likely to be about the same, actually. Learn more Vicodin details here. One may work a bit better for you than the other, but there's no way to know that, unless you try them. How did you end up with 2 different prescriptions? ## Actually those 10/325 will be stronger. The 10 is the Vicodin and the 325 is the acetaminophen. I broke my arm 3 yrs ago and was already on 5/500 they gave me 10/325 and they were MUCH stronger to me than my normal 5/500. ## !0/325 10 is the hydrocodone. You could go to the grocery store for the tylenol that constitutes the 325

Hydrocodone BT-IBU 7.5-200 or Hydrocodonee-Acetaminophn 10-325, which is stronger? ## Hello, Bill! How are you? The doses of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen are going to be approximately equivalent, so you have to look at the dose of the Hydrocodone, which means that the one with 10mgs is stronger. Learn more Vicodin details here. Learn more Vicoprofen details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. which is stronger hydrocodone 7.5/500mg oxycodone-acetaminophen 5-325 ## About the same as oxycodone is about 1.5 times stronger than hydrocodone. ## Regarding the analgesic effect, using a dose conversion, they are actually equivalent. Thus, it would really be a matter of finding out which one is more effective for you, since not every medication works for everyone that tries it. Since these are both narcotics, there is a chance that they could be habit forming and you may experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Which has been recommended for you? You can learn more Lortab details here. I have been taking hydrocodone/ Acetaminophen 5-325 TB FOR YEARS FOR CHRONIC PAIN. When I just picked up my most recent prescription the pharmacy substituted Hydrocodone/ Acetaminophen 5-300 TB. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO MEDICATIONS? Are there different side effects, and how might they manage my pain differently? ## From what you've listed, the only difference is the dosage of Acetaminophen that each contains, one contains 325mgs and the the other contains 300mgs of it. How is it working for you? What are the markings on the tablets? The FDA warns the Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

i'm on ocycontin 60mg 4xs daily my break through pain med is either hydrocodone 10-650 or oxycodone w acetaminophen 5-325 which is more effective for pain relief i have to chose one ## At that narcotic dosage, 10mgs of Hydrocodone, versus 5mgs of Oxycodone, they are roughly equivalent. The only way to see which one may be more effective for you is to actually try one of them and see how it works. The Hydrocodone option does have more Acetaminophen in it. so you may also want to base your decision on how concerned you are about that, since it can cause some stomach problems. They both have the same side effect profile, since they are both narcotics, and this may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and stomach irritation. Are there any other comments or questions? ## my doctor swit...

My doctor just switched my vicoden and i wanted to know which is stronger the 5-500 pills or the 5-325 pills? ## If you are asking about the Hydrocodone, then neither is stronger, at 5mgs, they are both the same strength. The only thing different about them is the amount of APAP, which is medical speak for Acetaminophen. The one that says 325 only contains 325mgs of it and the one that says 500 contains 500mgs of Acetaminophen. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. my doctor switched me to Oxycod/apap 5-325 from Hydroco/apap 5-325. Which one makes you tired? ## Hello, CK! How are you? The Oxycodone is stronger, you only need 3.33mgs of it to be equivalent to each 5mgs of the Hydrocodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Percocet details here. As to which makes you more tired, I can't really answer that. I was put on morphine sulfate 15mg ER 1 every 12 hours. I had been taking hydrocodone 10/325 4xs a day. Is this a better slightly stronger amount to control pain after taking hydrocodone for 14 years? ## Hello, DezerayBlu! How are you? According to the conversion ratios provided by Global, they convert on a 1:1 ratio. So, to be equal to a daily dose of 40mgs Hydrocodone, you'd need 40mgs of Morphine. It is also time released, so the medication is gradually released over the 12 hour period. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Have you started taking it, yet? If so, how is it working for you? ## I was recently put on morphine sulfate ER 15 mg, every 1...

my doctor switched me to Oxycod/apap 5-325 from Hydroco/apap 5-325. Which one gives memore energy? ## Hi CK, I'm not one to speak from personal experience, so I'll leave the more concrete details to others who've already tried both. However, Oxycodone is said to be noticeably stronger than Hydrocodone with regards to potency. And although both of these drugs can effect each individual differently, my research tells me that Hydrocodone tends to be much more sedating than Oxycodone. Reviews on Oxycodone seem to be more centered around its stimulating effects (which could be a good thing for those who wish to be more active). However, some patients may find Hydrocodone's calming effect more appropriate for their type of condition than others. It really just comes down to pe...

What is stronger of the two 10/325 or 7.5/750 Hydrocodone? ## 10/325 stronger more hydrocodone with 10 mg per pill and only 325ancetametaphen were as the 7.5mg 750 is only 7.5 mg of hydrocodne the hydrocodone is the prescription the 750 and 325 is just the over the count tylonal I awful at spelling. Spell check makes you dumb but I hope this helps ## That is mostly correct, however, you cannot buy Acetaminophen over the counter in higher than 500mgs, which would be Extra Strength Tylenol. But the smaller numbers do refer to the Hydrocodone, which is a narcotic pain reliever, so the higher the number, the higher the dosage and the stronger the medication. The maximum you can get of it in the US is 10mgs. The common name brands for this are Lortab and Vicodin. Common side effects may incl...

What is stronger and how do these 2 drugs compare.....10/325 hydrocodone vs. tramadol 50 mg ## You really can't compare them, since they aren't in the same drug classes. The Hydrocodone in the Vicodin/Lortab is a potent narcotic analgesic. But the Tramadol is just a centrally acting analgesic, though it is derived from an opiate, it is nowhere near as strong and effective as the opiate narcotic class. Both can be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You can learn more Vicodin details here and you can learn more Tramadol details here. Which one has been prescribed for you?
