Which Benzo Best

The best all-around research site for the drugs in the benzodiazepine (benzo) family is benzo.org.uk. The benzo family is quite large - they are dangerous, often difficult to quit and have shown many long-term (the rest of your life) side effects. Do some homework please and work with your dr. to titrate your dosage. They usually will cut it in half for a period, in half again, as low as they can go, and ultimately cut it. The process can take from weeks to months to years depending on your dosage, body chemistry, drug in use, and many other variables. More power to you!! These are the drugs in the group: Alprazolam -- (Xanax, Xanor, Tafil) Bromazepam -- (Lexotan, Lexomil) Chlordiazepoxide -- (Librium) Clobazam -- (Frisium)5 Clonazepam -- (Klonopin, Rivotril) Clorazepate -- (Tranxene) D...

I have an ic bladder. Now I have a bad cold. Can I take benzonatate even if I have an ic bladder? ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? Has it been prescribed for you by your doctor? I didn't find anything listed by the FDA saying that it's contraindicated with such a condition, but it's always best to double check to be sure. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, and headache.

And how have you gone about looking for a new doctor? Your best bet may be to look into pain management to handle that part, since the doctors are specially trained to deal with such issues. Everyone is different and you have to take responsibility for your own actions. In no way am I ever giving medical advice I am sharing a story of how I got off them for a few weeks until I decided Id rather be on. When using a new pain medication was the best time for me to wean, and do so in about a week. I would cut it by 1/4 daily towards my waking dose and then wait until I felt I could jump ship. I was happy to be able to do it with no prolems. I've also found a way to accelerate the nic patch for smokers who really want to quit but cant afford more than one box of em. If enough interest results asking me for my mehtos I will share.

Looking for ideas of alternative anxiety treatments other than benzodiazepenes. I do not know if I can be prescribed benzos due to my medical history. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas or other alternatives that I may ask my doctor about? ## BuSpar is an option, the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and weight loss. It is not considered addictive. Many SSRI and SSNRI antidepressants can also treat anxiety. It really depends on which one works best for you. Are you on any other medications?

I'm thinking of talking to my dr. About benzodiazapan, I want a heads up on which one is the most addictive. ## Your body will eventually get used to any medication you take regularly, even if you don't abuse them, and a sudden cessation may result in withdrawal symptoms. As to Benzodiazepines, they can all be habit forming and usually require a slow taper, when someone stops taking them. What you really need to do is discuss your issues with your doctor, so they can help you decide what would be your best treatment option. You can learn more about Benzodiazepines and the ones that are available here: Is there anything else I can help with? ## If you don't have to start Benzo don't. I am currently withdrawing from valium only 5 mg a day. It is extremely uncomfortable. Wo...

Which manufacturers (found on your bottle) of Temazepam do you find effective and not effective? Some people will share the color of their pills, but when I call the pharmacies, I ask what manufacturer they are using. Have a script for 22.5, but can have it changed to 15 or 30. Please help. Thank you. ## There is really no way to say that the one from any given manufacturer is better than another, since we are all different, so it can vary from person to person. The only thing you can really do is try the one provided by your pharmacy, and see if it works for you. Temazepam is a benzodiazepine class medication that is often used to treat anxiety, panic disorders, and some cases of insomnia. It carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness...

What is the weakest and strongest Benson between Xanax klonopin and ativan ## Hi amber, I may not have conclusive information, but based on what I could gather from other people's experience, the most potent one is said to be Xanax, followed close-behind by Klonopin, and then Ativan. Ironically in the exact order you listed them as. Hopefully someone else on here with personal experience can verify the accuracy of this, but to the best of my knowledge it is what it is. :) I hope this helps! ## Benzo strength as follows from strongest to weakest.. Clonazepam (klonopin) Alprazolam (xanax) Diazepam (valium) Lorazepam (ativan) These are just the 4 main prescribed benzodiazepines..there are several more including librium and others.. Hope this helps.. P.S. Xanax has the shortest "hal...

I am taking suboxone 8 mg as I have since getting of street drugs 3 years ago. I have a bad bronchial virus. I can't take opiates so I am taking Benzonate 200 and Mucinex (Guaifenesin 600). I just want to make sure the Suboxone and Benzonate don't interact. I read Benzonate can interact with pain relievers. ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check to be sure. The FDA does warn that Suboxone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, and headache. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you, Suboxone does have its risks, but having lifted the bonds of homelessness, and IV addiction, the benefits outweigh the consequences. I had no interact...

LOTS OF FOOT & KNEE PAIN FROM ARTHRITIS ## Levothyroxine, which is used to treat Thyroid disorders is most effective when taken in the morning, on an empty stomach, at least half an hour to an hour, before eating. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight changes and hair loss. Learn more: Lorazepam is a Benzodiazepine, used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. Since it can also be used to treat severe cases of insomnia, because drowsiness is a side effect, many people prefer to take it in the evening, before bed. The top rated ones have habit forming chemicals, like Xanax, Vallium. Are there any medicines that aren't addictive but still effective? ## I am afraid that ANYTHING you take regularly carries a risk of becoming dependent or addicted to it. The main thing of importance is to always see your doctor regularly and only take all medications exactly as prescribed. You are correct that those in the Benzodiazepine family are the most habit forming. You may wish to ask your doctor about some of the antidepressants, such as: Paroxetine: Or Pristiq: Some of them have been used to treat anxiety and have less addictive potential than the Benzodiazpines. Do you have any other questions? ## Yea i already considered anti depressants, but do they really work for anxiety and fear? The main thing abo...

I'm going to get my script soon, ive been taking the Actavis brand (Walgreens) and I asked if my next refill it could be the Greenstone g3722. My dosage I'd 2mg. I has the Mylan xr but would say the ACTAVIS is better. Should I stick to Actavis or go for Greenstone? I haven't tried Sandoz nor Dava. ## Greenstone use to be best as they we're bought out by parent co.of Xanax but they dilluated the formula a few years ago. I've been using the 2mg XR Actavis and their not too bad...so yes Actavis works. ## No one "diluted" the formula when a new company bought them. @Benzolover, you seem like you need some further understanding of what Xanax is and does, just a tad too excited about the drug. ## I'm very informed on this drug. But I just wanted to ask what was...

I have been on benzoate for 15 years and the 3 mg xanax er was working great until the generic was changed on me by the pharmacy. I have been asked to try 1 mg ativan twice daily and my anxiety and panic kicks in that if I say these work and then they don't I won't be able to function. Are these the same and if not how do I get my dr to keep me on the best meds for me and my chemistry. Is there a way to find a generic specific, where the fillers do not affect the half life of my meds? Also I never sleep and I know this just adds to the anxiety then the panic. Any advice? When I take the ER it works as long as I have a .5 to take as needed. Which seems to be in the evening. How do I explain to my dr that the combination works, without it being a concern that I'm just trying t...

48 year old Raleigh resident looking for a doctor to prescribe me my diazepam. I am being cut off from the clinic I go to. After my doctor retired (in Virginia) went to Monarch because I do not have health insurance. I now go to Cornerstone. I have been taking Diazepam for about 25 years as well as Zoloft. I am aware of the side effects and long term usage of "Benzos". I have a long history of mental health issues and this combination is the best for me. I exercise, meditate, watch my caffeine intake and use to tools taught to me to handle my emotional problems to the best of my ability. I feel angered that because of whatever the issues are that prescribers are not prescribing these types of medications should not be my concern. I have read thoroughly on the CDC'S website. ...

What do you guys think? Because most of the top rated anxiety drugs are the ones with benzo, like xanax and vallium, but those are habit forming. ## Some of the antidepressants have been successfully used to treat anxiety and are much less habit forming. You may want to look into something like BuSpar: Or Paroxetine: Have you spoken to your doctor about alternatives, yet? ## Benadryl is an antianxiety or, if you want to try the herbal route valarian root works well for a lot of people. Or, if you are in a place where it's legal (??) marijuana is also really good for anxiety. Some prescription non Benzodiazepines (like Xanax and Vallium) that help with anxiety that I have taken are Trazodone, Neurontin, Tegratol and some antidepressants are also sometimes prescribed for anxiety. Hope...

When it comes to anxiety, the truth is that coping mechanisms (medically & behaviorally) are different for everyone. There are some who wholeheartedly feel that anxiety meds are not the answer, and while they may relish in other forms of distraction, we all share common a desire to make ourselves feel better in the moment through whatever means we respectfully deem necessary. Individual rights to one's perceived sense of adequate treatment should not be infringed upon by another's skewed perception of what only works best for his or herself. So in a rather complex and controversial outlook to the way anxiety should be treated, it seems that doctors and psychiatrists alike have taken a timid stance to prescribing benzo's - But is it really ethical and fair to the well-bei...

Since polyoxyl is so drying..what mositureizer is best? also do you need to exfoiliate also..and what about a toner? Do you also use Retin A ....which strength?? Do you use the above additions if you do use Retin A also? Do use use any oils or masks, or toners on you face while using the Benzol and/or retin A. ## Hi Bev, With any "drying" product you will definitely want to lightly exfoliate 2-3 times a week. I recommend dry brushing, as it removes dead skin more efficiently. You can also use a toner to help remove any left over dirt/dead skin/ excess oils, but just make sure that the toner is alcohol and fragrance free so that it does not cause any more irritation. Based on my research and personal experience, coconut oil is a great moisturizer because it can actually penetrate...

Hello, I'm starting the prerequisite withdrawal period before my first suboxone appointment. I would desperately like to know if I can take a xanax or maybe a soma during this period to ease symptoms? Thanks so much for your time... ## Due to the nature of your question, this may be something best answered by your doctor who can make a more informed decision based on your medical records, current health, age, weight, whether or not you're taking any other medications, etc. However based on my research, as long as you're not taking the xanax or soma with suboxone at the same time, you should be fine. Reason being is that there are drug interactions between those medications that may result in increased side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. ...
