Since tramadol is becoming controlled in August, what are my options? I've always gotten my prescription filled from web-based pharmacies due to not having insurance. please help!!! ## Tramadol is no longer able to be obtained online without a Rx in the USA. Other countries may offer their version of it but I'd be careful with that. Tramadol itself is a very inexpensive medication... if your Dr. writes you a Rx for it you'll find that is very inexpensive. ## Let me know if you find out anywhere else to order this. I dread running out of my tramadol...ohhhh mmyyyy ## If you really need it as bad as you say you do, I honestly think your best bet would be to go the legitimate route and see a good doctor who can prescribe this for you on a monthly basis. You can always save mone...

Ive been taking tramadol for aprox 8yrs nonstop other than a 7week break. Ive back problems and my knees are broken down do to years of rough wear and tear on top of many injuries. Ive no health insurance either. Truth b told,i cannot function very well at all without taking the tramadol. So i am checking to see of anyone has any insight or suggestions as to where i may b able to purchase tramadol after the 18th of august which is when tramadol becomes a controlled substance. Im aware that ordering overseas is risky but going without the meds is not an option. I am very worried about the change in classification. I never expected anything like this to happen, had i known and not been ignorant to the possibility of not being able to order tramadol online i would have done something diffe...

I have been taking tramadol 50mg for the last two years. I think i am addicted to it and it's deteriorating my health. So plz give me a suggestion as to how i can get off of it. ## A slow taper is usually the best solution, according to NIH reports. Withdrawals could cause nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, rebound pain, and seizures. Are you on any other medications? How much Tramadol are you taking each day? ## Kratom red vein....research it. I'm on day 5 cold turkey with little to no withdrawals....I was taking 8 to 20 a day for 3 years. I tried tapering and cold turkey before and thought I was going to die. I'm taking 5gms every 5 hrs but you may be different. Start slow and move up every 45 min till you stop feeling withdrawals. Then try to keep it in your system for a w...

Tramadol, sold under the brand name Ultram among others,[1] is an opioid pain medication used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain.[3] When taken by mouth in an immediate-release formulation, the onset of pain relief usually begins within an hour.[3] It is also available by injection.[10] It may be sold in combination with paracetamol (acetaminophen) or as longer-acting formulations.[3][10] ...

After many years of back and knee pain with no success on codeine and panadol for pain relief. I changed my dr and he has put me on tramadol 50 to 100 3 times daily, relief was amazing I feel a different person after one week. I do see many people trying to get off the drug on here. But if it was working for you with pain relief why not just stay on it. I am 77 years old so don’t think addiction would be a worry. What do others think .? ## The NIH does warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming, but not everyone is prone to developing an addiction to any given substance. The NIH also warns that this medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. (NDC code 0378-4152 for more information.) I have been there I know what you mean. But I ask my doctor if he could take me off of that and give me Tramadole 50mg and with Tramadole you wont have the side effects from the pain killers it will take all of that away. Hope I was able to help you ## Hi Melvin, I'm not sure who you might've been responding to since this is a relatively new discussion thread with no other posts…but it's imperative that you don't give out false information pertaining to the side effects of Tramadol. All prescription medications have the potential to cause side effects in some users. And while not everyone experiences these side effects, you can't necessarily rule out those who do (especially those facing addiction or dependance issues). Linked below is a list of possible side e...

Can I take ambien at night when taking tramadol ## Hello, Iced! How are you? I didn't find any interactions listed between these two medications, but since both can cause sedation, you do need to be careful and should know to watch for any warning signs, such as extreme dizziness, somnolence or shallow breathing. Tramadol carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## yes you can take it

I am perscribed 50mgs of trmadol 3xdaily and 15mg of oxazepam what kind of feeling will I get? ## Hello, Sassyfrassy! How are you? Both of these medications tend to cause sedation, so combining them may intensify that effect and you may end up feeling very tired, dizzy and drowsy. It would be best not to drive or operate machinery, until you know how they actually affect you. They both also carry the risk of being habit forming and you may experience side effects, such as nausea, dry mouth, irritability and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My husband just accidentally gave our dog tussigon and tramadol at the same time. Should I be concerned? ## I wish I had an answer for you and everyone else that posts questions about their pets. However, human and animal physiology can be quite different, thus my knowledge and/or what I can research for someone about the effects of given medications and their uses in humans, may not apply to your dog. I am always happy to help, if I can, just like others that frequent this website, but it would be remiss of anyone to do so, without knowing the proper information to give you. Therefore, I must advise you to call your veterinarian and ask. How is your furry friend doing?

I have reads that a person who was on Tramadol for 8 or 10 years and as a result, had to take 8 of the 50 mg tablets of Tramadol daily to get results. His Dr. decided to give him a derivative of the drug for a few months to help irradiate the tolerance that had developed from taking the Tramadol for so long. After using the new drug for 6 months or a year. ( Cant remember the details. the article was a few years back) or a year, he switched back to the Tramadol and needed only 200 mg Daily. I can't seem to find any more info on this any more but would be interested in cleaning out and starting anew with the Tramadol. ## Hello, John! How are you? This is known to work for some people and some doctors do recommend 'med vacations' to help something retain or regain efficacy. Th...

I,m already prescribed tramadol for pain is it helpful for toothache? ## Hi Dot, Based on my research, Tramadol can be a feasible treatment option for pain associated with toothaches. Although certain over-the-counter meds such as ibuprofen are usually considered first line treatment options, it seems to be quite common for dentists to prescribe Tramadol in and of itself, or in combination with something like ibuprofen for serious tooth pain. You may also want to talk with your doctor or dentist about using an antibiotic (e.g. clove essential oil) to help fight the infection as well. I hope this helps!

Hydro/apap does not help much for chronic pain. Would it be okay to take Tramadol and Hydro-- together? ## Hello, Weezy! How are you? Since both Tramadol and Hydrocodone are opiates, it would be best not to mix them, unless your doctor approves. They can cause depression of the central nervous system, so taking both could cause issues, such as problems breathing, lowered heart rate and lowered blood pressure. The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you talked to your doctor to let them know that it isn't relieving your pain?

Insomnia don't seen addictive ## Tramadol is an analgesic that's derived from an opiate, so it can be addicting. It isn't used, however, to treat insomnia. Side effects can also include nausea, dizziness, headache and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

is Tramadol contains any opiates ? ## Tramadol is narcotic! Some have different views on it but it is 100% narcotic with opiate traits. This medicine should be used with lots of caution, the doctors make it out like its non-addictive, but it is truly addictive as any other narcotic. But there are some good things that come from tramadol, and just as this year they are now finding it naturally produced in relatively high concentrations in the roots of the African Pin Cushion Tree. Just know it can be abuse very easy! Thanks ## Hello, Hokaz! How are you? Justin is correct, thank you Justin! Tramadol is classified as an opioid analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming. When creating it, researchers tried to take an opiate and remove the addictive potential to prevent abuse, bu...

Can these medications be taken with hydrocodone and Acetaminophen in one for real bad back pain? ## Can they be taken together ? They should not be taken together. Have I mixed them YES. I had no issues on low doses but it is not recommended to mix these. ## @clydesdales8, Just to add to post #1, drug interaction checkers (from umm.edu) go on to state that taking Tramadol with Hydrocodone is usually not recommended due to an increased risk of developing certain side effects, including: loss of coordination, dizziness, slurred speech, confusion, changes in perceived mental awareness, and slow or shallow breathing - in which case they recommend contacting your doctor immediately. Although, as post #1 mentioned, it is also equally important to remember that each individual is prone to reac...

I've been taking tramadol for over two years now 1000mil a time that's 500mil then another 500 ten mins later I find it very hard to stop as it makes me ache fell horrible and just can't stop and think I really need to ## Hello, Dingle! How are you? The U.S. FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to stopping it, if you stop suddenly, those are normal withdrawal effects. The best thing to do is to taper off slowly, as guided by your doctor, by doing a slow taper to prevent the worst of the withdrawals. Is there anything else I can help with?
