Where Do U Put The Patch

Forgot to put my patch on before work. It will be 12 hours til I can put it on. What can I expect? ## Hello, Bonnie! How are you? That's not too long of a time period, so things shouldn't get too bad, unless you are very sensitive to medications. You may experience some minor withdrawal effects, such as nausea and headache, according to the NIH. In the future, to avoid any issues, it might be a good idea to use some sort of reminder system to make sure you put it on, such as a phone app. My husband and I use one for our medications, all the time. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've used just about every area on both my arm for patch placement except over a tattoo on my right arm. The tattoo is over 30 years old but it was done with a lot ink saturation. Can the patch be applied directly over this? I've never put one there because I thought it might inhibit the medicine from penetrating. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is my second post. ## Yes, you can place it over your tatts. My arms are sleeves and I am on 100 every 48 hours for chronic pancreatitis. ## has anyone tryed the new sandoz 75mcg transderm patch. just got them. And have been haveing bad stomach problems?? ## Yes you can put a patch over a tattoo I had one on my lower abbs and had no problem, but should alternate where you put it every time, arm upper backside, but not on the waist. ##...

I have started the fentanyl patch. I put my first one on and after 24 hours, I then realized it had two pretty small wrinkles in it and I'm not exactly sure if it is completely effective... Pain isn't quit there but not sure if it that will effect the absorbs ion into the skin. ## Two very small wrinkles should not really effect it, there is still enough in contact with your skin for the medication to be absorbed and work. Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic pain medication. You may experience side effects such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. You can read more here:

I read the reviews and I question if they were written by the manufacturer. I was on Butrans. Started on 10 mg and was eventually switched to 20 mg. When I was switched to 20, at least noticed it did something. I was miserable. I had been on hydrocodone and Opana and I was switched to Butrans by pain management dr. I kept begging to be switched back to anything I had been on because Butrans just didn't cut into the pain. I was not given anything for breakthrough pain (I have switched doctors since). Anyway, it was very mild and had serious side effect of depression and I believe some weight gain. Would not recommend it to anyone in chronic severe pain. Had same problem as others in that it does not last for 7 days. I changed doctors and was put on combo of Oxycontin, Nucynta and Tra...

Broken thumb will not heal with new bone growth. I use a small patch on joint. Could the patch be a factor in no healing? 4 surgeries in 7 months. Still in a cast with port for bone stimulator. I put quarter size patch in port hole for pain 24/7. ## Hello, Cusher! How are you? It's very doubtful, since this is just a mild topical anesthetic, your body usually does't absorb much of it. That's why the FDA lists most of the side effects as being related to topical use, like skin irritation, redness, itching and rash. However, it would be best to check with your doctor, to be sure. Are they aware that you're using it? You likely shouldn't leave it in the port, when using the stimulator. ## I was using for pain only but have stopped putting in port till next x-ray. I love...

I'm nervous to start the new meds. the only thing I've heard about suboxone is people with serious addiction problems use it. I only take at the most 20mg of oxycodone a day, which I've been told to stop taking before putting on the patch of 5mg.... My doctor has told me to wait 2 days but I've heard anywhere from 24 hours, to 8 hours or wait until you start to feel sick from the withdraw.... I just want to know if anyone else has been transitioned this way? ## Hello, Jane! How are you? You do need to be in full withdrawal, before you can start using Suboxone. The reason for this is due to it containing the opiate Buprenorphine with Naloxone, which neutralizes other opiates, to prevent someone abusing them, when being treated with it for addiction. The FDA warns that it ...

can i put my butran patch over my tattoo without messing it up ## I'm unable to find any sort of advice on this topic over the internet...But in reality if you are worried about anything happening to your tattoos, then I would look into other alternative or natural pain medications beside patches. Are there any other parts of your body where you can effectively apply the patch that aren't tattooed (i.e. back, shoulders, neck, calves, thighs, chest)? ## Can I put an buprenorphine patch 20mg on tattoo 25years old

I asked my doctor the same question yesterday, she said "no", because once it hits the air, the strength starts to dissipate, or weaken. So she put me on the lowest dose, as I hope to get off them and all meds eventually. ## No, you can't cut it in half and the reason for it is because it is time released and cutting the patch could cause you to get too much of the medication at once, which may result in a dangerous overdose. Learn more Fentanyl details here. Are there any other questions or comments? ## What about the new style without the gel. You know like the nicotine patches Can you cut those ones half? and just cut your dose.. thanks.. Dave ## I have been using the Mylan matrix (non-gel) patches for some time now and have had no problems with cutting them. I remove 1/6...

My dad (85 years old) was prescribed the loriderm patch for severe arthritis back pain and I noticed after he wore the patch for a few days he started to halucinate and was confused and very nervious so at the hospital they took the patch off. How long does it take for the medication to get out of your system? ## Hello, Marylou! How is your dad doing? How long was he using it? If he was only on it for a short period of time, then it shouldn't take more than a few days to be processed out. That's an odd side effect, however, since this is a topical anesthetic that's actually very mild and very little of it is absorbed. Are they sure it was from the Lidoderm? Is he on any other medications? ## Did you Dad take the patch off every 12 hours and did not put another on until 12 ho...

should i take advil and flector patch together ## i am taking suboxone right now about 24 mgs a day.cani put flector pathes on with this medicine.is it safe to use suboxone and flector patches together, ## advil & flector patches together ? ## For anyone else seeking information…. The Advil and the Flector patch should not be mixed. They are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so it is unnecessary and is just doubling up on the same type of medication. There are risks associated with this medications, such as stomach ulceration and increased risk of bleeding, so it is dangerous to do so. Are there any prolonged side effects after 10 yrs of treatment? ## Hello, Shellbee! How are you? Long-term side effects usually entail the possibility of liver damage, but that would be detected via blood work, if your doctor is monitoring you and checking occasionally. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was just taken off of 50mcg fentanyl patches/72hrs, and put on oxycodone 20mg extended release with hydro/APAP 5mg/325 acetaminophen for breakthrough pain and I'm going thru withdrawl as well as being in pain. I've been on the Butrans patches now for 2 months. I started on 5mg & now I'm on 20mg. I also have Amitriptyline 10mg per day which eventually will go up to 50mg... I also have Tramadol when needed... I was put on Gabapentin but they made me too dopey & they was not good for my Epilepsy either. I felt really ill off them. I suffer from nerve pain as well as stiffness and the Butrans helps with the stiffness; they don't take the major pain away but they do help... I just wish I could stop itching, it's driving me nuts. So if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. TY. ## Try using a cold pack - relieves the itching (for me, at least) instantly ## What type of itching are you experiencing? was on 5mg Norco 3x's a day, was put into pain management, put on 5mg butrans patch, little or no relief, first script, patches kept falling off, even with tegedern tape, second script, open to get a patch, there was none in there. Have fibro and back issues. I got 3 free patches from manufacture, but who will believe this missing patch. Can't believe I am the only one having issues with this patch. ## Hi Bessan, Sorry to hear about your challenges with the butrans patch. With all the effort you went through to make this work, only to come out with no relief, it sounds to me like it may not be worth the trouble.
