I need to cease my intake of Trapex 1 mg. I have been regularly taking 0.5 mg at night as prescribed by my doctor. However, for the past four days, I've reduced it to 0.25 mg based on my doctor's advice. This has resulted in me feeling anxious and also experiencing sleep interruptions. Will these symptoms eventually pass? ## Trapex contains the active ingredient Lorazepam, which is a Benzodiazepine and it is normal to experience such issues, when you lower the dosage, or stop taking it. They will eventually wear off, but it may take a few weeks, before your body adjusts and things are back to normal. How soon will you be stopping it completely? ## I have been on Trpex 1mg for 17 years and I've been experiencing numerous issues. I'm feeling extremely weak, and it has hind...

My doctor took me off Plavix two weeks ago, and I`ve noticed the bruise`s on my forearm`s starting itching alot!! Also started getting little blisters, before the itching. Is this normal? & what should I put on it until I see my doctor in 5more day`s? ## Plavix contains Clopidogrel, which is an antiplatelet agent used to help prevent clotting, so it does have an effect on circulation, so this could be a reaction to being taken off of it suddenly, because your body has to readjust to not having the medication, now. Withdrawal symptoms can manifest in many different ways. What you are describing is basically a type of hives, which means the histamine receptors in your body are probably being oversensitive, right now. There are many topical allergy products on the market that you can p...

How long before muscle aches and weakness subside after discontinuing Lipitor ## Had been on 10mg for 4 years. recently after muscle ache issues I discontinued Lipitor. 3 weeks into it I still have weakness in limbs. It is also suggested that if symtoms persist, or get worse, you should notify your MD. To learn more click on the link below... Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## What are the symptoms of Lipitor withdrawal? ## I have been on 20mg of Lipitor for about 15 years. I'm trying to wean myself off the Fentanyl patch. I went from 75 micro-gms to 50 now I'm on 25. Having a problem and not sure it is related to the decrease in the med. It's been 20 days on the 25 micro-gm and I'm going crazy. I need to keep rocking, moving in any way b/c my body is very restless. Is this a symptom of withdrawal and what do I do? I cannot take it any more. ## Yes, that can be caused by withdrawal, you probably jumped down in dosage a little too fast. This med is very, very strong, 80 times stronger than Morphine and it has a half-life of 17 hours, so that means once you take off the patch, it takes 17 hours until it has dwindled to 50% off the full dose in your body, then it slows and actually takes 3 or 4 days before it is all out of your system. So if y...

The doctor took me off Losartan and now my ankles keep swelling. Could this be the cause? ## It is possible. If it was stopped abruptly, the FDA does warn that it may cause some rebound effects, such as elevated heart rate, blood pressure, and fluid retention. Are you on any other medications? Have you informed your doctor of the problem? Uncontrolled edema could cause congestive heart failure, which has the potential to be fatal. ## I have been on Losartan 25 mg for a month and have side effects from it. I tried to stop it and my B/P went up higher than before I started it. It went from 140/90 to 170/104. Please advise how to stop this drug without causing this side effect.

I started taking vimpat i think last June or July. Not too sure, the meds have messed with my mind big time. Stayed at 200 mg, kept having grand mal seizures so eventually got up to 600mg a day. Had double vision, couldn't walk, numbness, memory loss, acted like a zombie, slept a lot, and was depressed. So she took me down to 500mg, nothing changed. I took myself down to 300, 100 in the am and 200 at night. Double vision and loss of leg control seemed to go away but i still couldn't think straight and wasn't myself. I have taken myself completely off vimpat to try to have a life again before the seizure comes that kills me, but i feel very, very depressed, alone, scared and ultimately just want to die. I can't just go see a doctor though due to Medicaid cutting me off wh...

Please let me know if I can discontinue Alprax 0.25mg after having taken 1 tablet every night before sleep for last 3 months due to some anxiety? Will there be any withdrawal symptoms to speak of? ## It is best to do it via a slow taper, under your doctor's supervision, because stopping it suddenly may create the risk of seizures, according to the U.S. FDA. It can also be habit forming, so suddenly stopping might cause other withdrawal effects. Are you on any other medications?

I had a nightly routine for sleep that worked very well until adding dilaudid. My husband would wake me telling me I was screaming in my sleep, I have not had nightmares just a lot of chatter that last night caused a terrible fight this has not happened before I started dilaudid and baclofen, so which is the villian ## I am not a doctor, but I have to say that the best guess would be the Dilaudid, if it was the one most recently added. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Many of these medications can cause odd, vivid dreaming. Why did your chatter cause a terrible fight? Do you have any idea what you were saying? I've had this occur, before, and my husband just wok...

My husband has stopped taking Cilift and I need to know what the withdrawal symptoms are? ## I stopped a week ago after weaning off from 30mg pday to 10mg over 4 months. Was on 10mg (half a pill) for a month and stopped. I am dizzy, had nightmares. Just before going to sleep (after 5 days) saw blasts of light and noise in my head. Has subsided since and will stick it out! My libido has returned to almost normal after being celibate for 2 years while on Cilift, in just a week. Let me know if your hubbie is feeling the same symptoms. Mine are similar to what I have read here. ## What Barry has described can all be typical symptoms. However, the relevant question is, what is your husband experiencing? Learn more Cilift details here. Not everyone will have a problem stopping such a medicati...

I am a 55 year old man, and I have been going to a Pain Management facility for lower back pain and now even chronic Osteoarthritic shoulder pain, and have been taking 60mg of Methadone every day (10mg tablets x 2 x 3 times a day -- morning, noon & night) for the past three years. Although I've been doing well on that regimen, perhaps out of more of a psychological concern over the known "qt" (heart) effects of the drug (rather than any "real" ones), I decided to ask my doctor if I could try Opana ER (20mg every 12 hours), which I had taken once before, for a short time, at another Pain Management facility, with great success. All I'm wondering are what the withdrawal effects might be (if any) of stopping the Methadone (60mg) on a Monday, and starting the Opa...

Took Pristiq for only two weeks (it did help me) but naive me stopped taking it without Tapering down and now have one week with headaches and light headed buzzing symptoms, have to take aspirin for the headaches, please how long this would last? never been on AD before, I'm getting worried this could last forever Thank you ## Hi Elias, After reading a number of reviews from withdrawal patients, it seems like your symptoms shouldn't last more than 2 weeks. I came across another post where as this person was on Pristiq for 3 months and had similar withdrawal symptoms to what you mentioned for about 17 days straight before they subsided. I know everyone can be affected differently by these drugs, but I hope this helps give you an idea of how long they can last based on the duratio...

My husband, age 77, developed severe acute pancreatitis and has been in the hospital for the past 8 months. He has been on Fentanyl patches (the lowest dose) plus some extra fentanyl injections anytime the nurses thought he might be feeling pain. His pancreatitis healed in 3 months, but by then he developed a huge back bed sore. From the beginning, even when they were giving him morphine at the beginning, before the fentanyl patches, he developed breathing and sleeping problems, with intermittent rapid panicky breathing spells. With the patch, he has had also hallucinations and was forever either totally sleepless or totally drowsy. Because of the breathing problems, he has now a tracheatomy. His immune system was also compromised and he had several severe infections, i.e. lung and bloo...

I was taking Cymgen 60mg for about 7 months, and I recently changed to Brintellix. To ween myself off of Cymgen, I took a half dosage for 8 days, then took both my new prescription of Brintellix and my half dose of Cymgen for another 4 days before completely stopping with Cymgen, as recommended by my psychiatrist. I have had horrible withdrawal symptoms, and I'd like some indication of how long they should last for? They include vertigo, dizziness, headaches, nausea etc.. ## Hello, Gabby! How are you? Have your symptoms gotten any better? You may actually be experiencing a double whammy, withdrawal effects from stopping the one, as well as new side effects from starting the Brintellix, the FDA lists everything you mentioned as being among it's typical side effects. I live in South Africa and started using Cymgen about 3 years ago. I was on 30mg once a day. After deciding that the medication didn't help me, I decided to quit cold turkey. The only withdrawal symptoms I experienced was the dizziness and vertigo. But it was really bad. I started taking it again after a week. I decided to research this and found that antioxidants is supposed to reduce the withdrawal. So I started taking PROCYDIN* (don't know if this is available worldwide) with the Cymgen for about 2 weeks. Then when my Cymgen was finished I continued to take the Procydin only. I must say that I am not experiencing any withdrawal symptoms at this stage. I also don't get depressed (never had suicidal thoughts - even before) Procydin contains: Grape seed extract Proanthocyani...

How long did the withdrawal symptyoms last. ## Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is an SNRI antidepressant. How long the withdrawal symptoms last will really vary from person to person and a lot depends on how much they were taking and how long they were taking it. It could take anywhere from a few weeks to several months before things balance back out and you feel completely normal again. Learn more Cymgen details here. The worst withdrawal and rebound effects can usually be avoided by tapering it slowly, rather than abruptly discontinuing it. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I took 3mg Lunesta for 2-3 years. Had taken Ambien a few years before switching. Due to a refill delay I ran out of Lunesta. It took ten days to fix the refill problem during which time I was forced into quitting cold turkey. For the first week, I had no problem sleeping and had no withdrawal symptoms. Suddenly on about the eighth day I had what seemed like the worst nightmare of my life and other withdrawal symptoms started. Since I had no problem for the first week, I had no idea what the withdrawal symptoms could be, and only looked them up after I started having nightmares, unwarranted anxiety, headaches, extreme exhaustion, irritability, eye twitches, nausea, etc. BUT, at least I was dreaming again, which it seemed I hadn't done since I started taking it. I figured I should be thr

I have been on various pain meds for 20 years after 5 back surgeries, the latest of which is fentynal. I now have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my pain management doctor said it destroys the body's opiate receptors so I have gone form 100 to 50 then 25 for about 4 months. Dr suggested, since I had 3 25s left to stop for 2 day (no patch) then back on for 3 days, then off for 3 days back on patch for 3 days then I should be ok. I made it 3 days off the first time but shouldn't have stayed off that long, I had a meltdown, crying hysterically besides all the other symptoms, I put the patch back on and then next time went w/o it for 72 hours before I couldn't stand it and then put my last patch on and took it off 4 days ago. Same symptoms, so shaky I can hardly type this. ...

Hi all. I have seen a lot of posts in the drugs forum about Fentanyl withdrawal. I too have been struggling with the withdrawal symptoms for 10 days now. Trust me when I say it DOES and WILL get easier. I know that if you have just recently started a taper or have gone cold turkey because a taper hasn't worked for you, you're probably not feeling very well right now.Trust me when I say it will get better. It may take weeks to finally feel normal again, but the worst will be over before you know it! I was on 100mcg/hr for about a year, and just recently tapered to 12.5 but went through withdrawal anyhow. Here are a few things that might help, and that have helped me get through the worst of it. ****REMEMBER***** To consult your doctor before pulling yourself off any medication :)...

I was in the ER for a panic attack and they IV'ed me with 2mg of Ativan. That was on Saturday morning and it is now Monday. I still feel like I want to crawl out of my skin and I'm irritable. Can I possibly be having withdrawal from only one dose of the Ativan? I've never taken it before and so I don't know if I should still feel like this? ## Hello, Dma! How are you? I am very sorry that you're feeling so awful! Those can actually be side effects of the Ativan in some people that take it. With one dose, they don't usually linger that long, but much of it can really depend on your body, especially since you've never taken it before. However, they could also be due to the panic attack and anxiety, or entirely unrelated. When will you be seeing your doctor, aga...
