suboxone to fentynal for pain mgmt
2 Replies RSS
I'm a chronic pain pt. I was on 16 mg of sub for pain for 2 straight years. It completely stopped working, when in the beginning it worked "good enough" now, my dr is a pain specialist and suboxone dr. He put me on a fentynal patch 25 mcg told me to take my last dose of sub and put patch on at same time because sub should b mostly out of my system within 12 hrs. I had no problem switching but a little wd from the sub. It is only day 4....dr said 40% of your opiod receptors r still open on sub!!! It only fills 60% of them. Still, enough to block most opiates, except very high doses. Now, I am just starting to feel the fentynal on day 4. But am still in moderate/sometimes severe pain. Anyone with a similar experience???? ## Hi Painpatient38, I haven't personally had an exp... ...

I am currently taking 8 to 10 roxy 30's a day. I have suboxones 8mg/2mg to help get clean+ off of these. I know the suboxones are the best pill made to help with the withdraws*but im wondering if for the 1st 3=5 days when im having trouble sleeping and feeling clamy if i should take like half of a roxy 30{which i have done in the past}which helps me to sleep and take away the clamy feeling or any other suggestions that u may have*thanx to anyone answering this for me ## Taking the Oxycodone pills with the Suboxone will do you no good, it contains a substance that neutralizes opiates to prevent their abuse during treatment, that is why it throws you into withdrawals. Suboxone should really not be used without a doctor's supervision, as the dosage and usage is carefully monitored ... ...

I had been on Suboxone for almost 8 years . In my opinion it is a wonder drug compaired to all the opiates that the pain clinics are all too willling to prescribe .I have been out of my Suboxone for a week & a half . I feel like I am dying . I can not sleep . I have a 5 month old new baby boy. I can hardly pick him up due to the pain that I am in. I hurt all over . i have been so nauseated. My doctor who 's visits were cash bases only , however medicaid would take care of the actual prescription of 60 ,8 mg. At one time I WAS PRESCRIBED 4 , 8 MG SUBS A DAY . i WOULD KILL JUST TO HAVE A QUARTER RIGHT NOW TO FEEL LIKE NORMAL AGAIN . My doctor decided that he no longer wants to deal with any one with medicaid due to the fact that his office does not "LIKE TO HANDLE PRIOR AUTHUO... ...

Need Help with Suboxone Withdrawal. Stopped last Thursday

I was on Suboxone 8mg from the time of my inpatient detox from opiates. I was supervised in a proper taper. Every time I cut back I felt better. After 11 days on 1/8th of a 2mg strip, I stopped the Suboxone. I haven't been able to sleep since. I spin like a top all night. My back was injured Sat. a week ago. Would this be a withdrawal symptom or back issue or both? How long will the withdrawal symptoms last. I'm feeling like a zombie from NO SLEEP. Going to chiropractor, who says I injured S1 disc. So confused and don't want to go back on that awful drug!! ## Hello, Sula! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're miserable. It is most likely a withdrawal symptom, it can take several weeks for them to completely wear off. Suboxone does contain a potent narcotic, so s... ...

subutex blocks other opiates like suboxen does
1 Reply RSS
I was dope sick and my friend gave me a subutex. I hear it's just like the suboxen so it's a blocker or would I feel another opiate a few hours later? ## Hello, Bree! How are you? No, Subutex does not contain the Naloxone that is in Suboxone that neutralizes other opiates. It only contains Buprenorphine. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, if you have an addiction problem, I strongly urge you to see a doctor and get proper medical help. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Hey, I know it's long but please read if you want to use subs to kick opiates! Iv been taking about 40-50 norocs a day too, somedays more...I think I killed a bottle of 240 in a freaking weekend! I took orally only but i would chew them sometimes for faster results and iv taking them for a long long time...and yes it scary and horrible. Some days i was fighting sleep so hard because i was scared that i might just stop breathing and not wake up! (Iv read stories about how easy it can happen no matter the tolerance level) i even written a letter once in my phone to my fiancée (who has no idea the degree of my addiction) apologizing if that day came... is methadone after subutex safe?
2 Replies RSS
Hello my name is kev. I have been consuming about 3 to 6 mg of subutex daily for about 7 months. I'm very eager to eliminate the subutex and start on these methadone. Is it safe to consume methadone 20 mgs the day after taking about 3 mgs of subutex? I heard suboxone was the dangerous one, not subutex and I also heard the taking methadone after subutex is the safe apose to methadone to subutex. Any answers would be highly appreciated. Thank you. ## People are just stupid. The bup is what keeps you from feeling high on other full opiates. The naloxone is only in the suboxone to keep you from misusing the drug. If taken properly the naloxone will not affect you. noone seems to understand that subutex is just as useful for opiate w/d as suboxone and it is the active ingredient Buphreno... ...

I have been on suboxone for 8 years now. I use 2 b on methadone for almost 5 years. I had a really bad addiction 2 Oxys. When it came down 2 tapering off the methadone, I went from 110 to 24. Couldn't take the withdrawals, so, Dr put me on subs. I also suffer from a lot of pain due 2 bulging discs, spinal stenosis, bi- lateral neuropathy, sciatica , etc ... I know that some people stay on methadone 4 life. I feel I'm going 2 b on the subs. 4 a long time. I'm afraid of going back on opiates , due 2 my pain and addiction. Is there anyone else out there who has been on subs a long time ? Or, feel the way I do ? Because, I feel so all alone in this situation. ## I have been on subutex for 8 yrs also, i was first prescribed 4, 8mgs a day. That is way way to much for anyone. I onl... ...

U took 4 7.5s perks around midnight will I go into withdraws if i take a 54 411 around 10am ## Dear highboi1989, u must wait until u r in withdrawals b 4 u can take the sub. If not, u could get sick and feel like crap. U should not take both together, either. It could b dangerous. So, remember, wait until u r withdrawing b 4 u take the subs. GOOD LUCK! ## There is nothing in Subutex to counteract other opiates, so someone does not have to be in full withdrawal to take it. Subutex contains only the opiate Buprenorphine. It does not contain the Naloxone that Suboxone does which so why you must be in full withdrawals, before you can take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth... ...

How long before I can take percocet
1 Reply RSS
OK, I've taken 1/4 of a 2/8mg suboxone for about 7 days, but I only would take that dose once a day. Now today is my first day not taking suboxone. It's been a full 24 hours. Can I take my pain meds (percocet 10mg) and feel it and not get sick? ## @lady luv, Based on the vast majority of feedback I've seen in other related threads here, the usual wait time is 2-5 days in-between taking Suboxone then opiates (like the Oxycodone; in Percocet). However, because everyone's case is different, these figures are only intended to be a rough estimate. And if I were in your shoes, I'd probably only feel the need to wait another day or two just to be sure that your receptors are clear. Others may suggest less time from their experience, since you've only been taking a small... ...

Can You take Methadone and Loricet together
3 Replies RSS
Can you take Loricet and 140 mg. of methadone together? ## What has your doctor suggested? When treating chronic pain, a regular or immediate release medication is often coupled with a regular or controlled release medication, to enable better pain control. In such instances, yes, combinations such as Lorcet and Methadone might be used together, depending on the person, their condition and their tolerance to medications. ## i was on methadone for 4 years and my husband for almost 7 years now but i switched to suboxone about 3 years ago..anyway yes you can take those meds together but the only thing is you wont feel high from it because the methadone has a blocker in it it blocks out the effect from any kind of opiates (pain pills) beleive me when i was on methadone i have tried it all p... ...

I have a friend who is on suboxone .yet she has gone back to mixing it with other this dangerous? ## That is very dangerous go on its website it has a list of drugs not to mix it with it is very deadly if their the wrong ones escpecially benzos, like xanax valium et ## Suboxone contains the opiate Buprenorphine and the agonist Naloxone, which neutralizes other opiates if you mix them. The problem that occurs, is most people keep taking more and more of the other opiates, since they aren't feeling the effects, so in addition to the danger of interactions from the medications, they are risking an overdose. Most opiates and Benzodiazepines also cause respiratory depression, which can also be highly dangerous if they are abused together, since this will aggravate the side effec... ...

coming off of subs

I have had a number of orthopedic surgeries over the years and I am a recovery opiate addict. I had a doctor prescribe me suboxone for pain. Seemed to work well but it has become increasingly expensive and I feel like I need to come off of it. I have been on it for over 2 years. I have been tapering the dose over a few months and then stopped. I still have had major withdrawl symtoms and it has become very frustrating. I feel like I'm back where I was when I was coming off opiates. Does anyone know how long it could possibly take to accomplish this. I blame some of this on the doctor because all he cared about was the consultation fee. I don't think he cared if I ever came off! Need some guidance. ## i was on subs for 5 yrs. i also have chronic ack pain among other things due to... ...

What's the difference?
2 Replies RSS
Can someone please tell me what the difference between suboxone and subutex is? And , why one doctor would prescribe one over the other? ## Hello, Cats68! How are you? Subutex contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, but Suboxone couples it with Naloxone to prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while someone is being treated with it. Thus, that also explains why some doctors prefer one over the other. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Dear Verwon, I now understand the difference b tween them. But why would one doctor use one over the other? BiPolar Opiate Addiction
4 Replies RSS
I had a problem with opiates for 6 years. My drug of choice was Roxy 30s, and occasional OC 80 (when Roxy wasn't available). I am now 2 years clean and I am on Suboxone 8mg 4x per day. After a year of taking this, I started feeling very tired. I went for a sleep study and they prescribed Nuivigil 250mg twice a day, over the FDA's guidelines. After 6 months my moods were out of whack. I had symptoms of BiPolar, so my doctor gave me 50 mg of Pristiq. I noticed some change but after a month I was back to the mood swings. My doctor had me see an Endocrinologist. This doctor ordered blood work and noticed my testosterone was very low and prescribed a Testosterone shot every week to get my levels back up. The tiredness went away but my mood swings still were a problem. I found out tha... ...

Addiction to opiate pain pills.
3 Replies RSS
What meds are commonly used in outpatient rehab to stop using opiate pain pills. ## The one that is most commonly used is suboxone. It is a wonderful medication that allows you to go off opiates without having to feel the horrendous opiate withdrawals. You must be off opiates at least 24 hours to take it. Having opiates in your system while taking suboxone can make you very sick, I know this from experience. Hope this helps and good luck! ## The other one commonly used is Methadone, but unlike Suboxone, many people treated with it require a lifetime maintenance dose and never become completely drug free. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And as to the Su... ...

54 411 subutex for H withdrawals
1 Reply RSS
I'm trying to stop using H and I have the 54 411, round, white, subutex pills. Do I have to wait 24 hours from my last usage to take one or can I take it right away? I don't want to get withdrawal symptoms from taking it too soon. But I don't want to wait 24 hours because I start feeling sick much sooner than that. ## Hello, Timetoquit! How are you? This is an 8mg sublingual Buprenorphine tablet, a generic for Subutex and since this does not contain the Naloxone that is used in Suboxone to neutralize other opiates, you do not have to be in full withdrawal to start this one, it shouldn't throw you into precipitated withdrawals. Thus, you should take it according to your doctor's instructions. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming an... ...
