About 5 months ago my Doctor said "I the Medical Group that I represent insists that you go to One of Their Pain Management Doctors. The last 5 months have been a Nightmare. I have never been so humiliated. I live in Massachusetts and what's happening is Ridiculous. I have been on opiates for over 10 years now and after refining the dosage amount finally found at sweet zone at 135mgs Morphine per day. I made a big mistake and asked my Dr if I could get rid of the day time Morphine and try something that would not be so sedative during the day. I was switched to Oxycodone from Morphine (not what I asked). The Oxycodone absolutely sucks as it only works for about 3 hours. This is a nightmare!! I suffer from multiple auto-immune diseases such as Connective Tissue Disease, R.A, Livedo, Raynauds, & traces of Lupus. All of which cause EXCRUTIATING PAIN!! This is freaking ridiculous!!! Last month it took 3 weeks to fill the RX and this month, it's going on another 3 weeks. Pretty soon I'm going to have multiple scripts that I won't be able to fill any of them! This is going to screw up my whole cycle. Hi I have been taking oxycodone 30 mg, 2-3 pills every 4 hours. When I started 4 years ago, I was taking 5mg. I know that the longer you are on the meds, the more "used to" the pill your body gets and the more it needs for the same relief. The thing is, that even taking 90mg at a time, it really isn't working much and I am getting afraid that nothing is going to get rid of this pain. I am posting this hoping that it will keep someone from an emergency ride to the ER. I have had prostatitis for weeks. Tylenol combined with naproxin have not been very effective in controlling the pain. Last night I decided to try some oxycodone left over from a 2007 back surgery. I find it ridiculous that sooo many people are messing around with schedule II narcotics yet have no clue to the potency, side effects, drug interactions, etc.. are you people not adults? Oxy is indeed a good 1.5% stronger than morphine and not at all subtle like morphine.. Most doses of Oxy that are between 15-30 mg are IR's not ER (extended release like most morphine)... I have 3 levels of herniated Lower Lumbar discsw which need replacing with prodisc but my insurance doesn't cover it. I was on Morphine for almost a decade and I am in constant pain. I work as much as possible but it is very physical work that I do so I need to get back onto some form of pain treatment which I haven't had in about 1 1/2 years now. I don't get much sleep because I am rolling around in pain constantly so I also am an insomniac as well. I don't seem to be getting help from any doctors anymore and am looking for any hlp I can get. How does T-3 30mg codeine relate mg to mg to hydrocodone and Oxycodone? Working on a weaning program after spine surgery. Prior to surgery I was on high doses of Oxycodone for quite a long time. Pain mgmt Dr is a joke, I feel they are looking at keeping me as a patient, I just want off all pain meds. It would be helpful to know how they correlate to make as smooth as possible ride down to zero mg/day. Could anyone tell me if it is possible to get used to the extreme side effect of sleepiness when taking one 30 mg tablet of Roxicodone/Oxycodone? I have 3 diagnoses, including Fibromyalgia and 2 back pain ones and am prescribe 3 per day. I suffer through the pain many days, because I take a pill for the pain, and I fall asleep in 1/2 hour and can't get anything done. Is there a way to counteract the sleepiness? I just came from my pain Dr.'s appt in Eastern Tennessee, who had no problem writing my prescriptions for oxycodone and oxycontin,the problem was my pharmacy or ANY pharmacy.
