Last month I accidentally took two pills in one day and the next time I just took one like nothing happened. When it was time to take this month's pack I waited and skipped a day to get back on track with the days. I usually get my period Monday night or Tuesday morning but it hasn't came yet. Am I going to get a period? ## Hello, Kay! How are you? Your hormone levels have likely been thrown off, a bit, by the doubling up and then skipping a day. It may take awhile for things to balance back out. Have you gotten your period, yet? You may skip, or it may come later. If you're very concerned, then you should speak to your doctor. The FDA lists the typical side effects of hormonal contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleed...

I accidentally missed a Lo Loestrin Fe pill on a Friday due to being busy at work. I took a pill the next evening (Saturday) not realizing that I missed a pill. I was intimate that same night with my significant other, but I took the pill beforehand. Sunday evening I take my pill and realize my mistake and took a second pill that was missed. I've taken the pills the past 7 months without missing a pill. This would be my 8th pack and still on the first week. I plan on taking Plan B to prevent a possible pregnancy, but I wanted to make sure if in any way I was still protected and what are the chances of becoming pregnant? ## Every missed pill does increase your risk of pregnancy, though the risk is not as high as if you had missed several, or weren't using any form of contraceptio...

I have been super busy lately and my boyfriend and I on Monday Jan 11,2016 had unprotected intercourse. I missed the time i was supposed to take my pills two days in a row. I just started a new pack for my 5-6 month. I took the first pill i missed three hours after my scheduled time and the second pill six hours from my scheduled time.... Do i take a plan b pill or do i let my birth control do it's job? And if i do have to take plan b will that effect my birth control?. ## Hello, Yella! How are you? You've generally got a window of about 12 hours, before it's considered a late pill and about 24 hours, before it would even be considered missing a pill, so unless your doctor feels otherwise, there's likely nothing to be concerned about. The FDA lists the typical side effec...

Missed several pills had spotting but no period 8 days late ## You need to see your dr. You may or may not be pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to see your dr. ## Missing pills may also throw off your cycle, even if you don't get pregnant. I'd suggest trying a medication reminder app, if you have a smart phone, or some other reminder system, if you aren't pregnant, to make sure that you don't miss more pills in the future. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Hello! I didn't have a tri sprintec birth control packet for a week, and missed a week of those pills. I'm on the second week, and the 4th week is when I'm scheduled to start. My period app says I was supposed to start yesterday 11-30 and now I'm a day late, when will my period start? ## Hello, Shelby! How are you? Missing that week has most likely thrown off your hormonal balance, so your cycle may not follow it's normal track. It can take a couple months for things to settle down and become regular, some women don't have periods on this oral contraceptive, at all. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm on t...

I have been taking Sprintec for about 5 years and I have never had this happen until now. On the second Monday of my pack, I completely forgot to take my pill, I discovered this on that Tuesday when I already found out that I was late for Tuesday too. So I took both pills for Monday and Tuesday, both were late. On an unwise decision, I had intercourse on Wednesday afternoon, and on Thursday morning I saw blood on my underwear. I immediately panicked thinking it was "spotting" that occurs when one is pregnant. I tried calling my OB's office asking about what I should do and if I should take a pregnancy test and the nurse said that it was too soon to be able to tell if I were. So I continued to take my pills normally in the mean time. A week of waiting on "spotting" ou...

I am on Sprintec birth control, and I am always bad with taking my pills, and this month I have tried to given myself my period early and I have not had my period. I have had no intercourse/oral and I had to take a pregnancy test last month and it showed up negative and I had a period last month that was slightly worse then my others. I have also had weird things happen like cramps in the morning, and back pain, but I think my back pain is from me getting off my bunk bed is a weird way. Idk if this is influenced by it, or if these random things, THANK YOU. ## Hello, Betsy! How are you doing? How did you try to give yourself your period early? These are hormonal contraceptives, so they can cause some oddities to your cycle. Have you consulted your doctor about it? ## Instead of waiting f...

Hi! I've been taking minastrin 24 fe for about 9 months now. I've never missed a day, but somehow today I slept through my alarm and took it 6 hours late. Will it be ineffective now? ## Hello, Autumn! How are you? No, you've generally got a window of about 12 hours, before it's even considered a late pill and about 24hours, before it's actually considered a missed tablet. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Sunday evening i had unprotected intercourse. I missed taking dronis 30 on sunday night. Sunday was my 20th day of dronis 30. I took it immediately when i remembered monday morning. Should i be taking any 72 hour birth control pill to protect against pregnancy?

I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 4 months now. I always bled every other week so I was never afraid of missing a period because I got then all the time. However, last month I missed my period which I read is normal for this birth control. We use condoms and pull out. When I missed my period I still took the two white and two brown pills. I still have not had my period and it's been a week since I've missed and took those pills. Do the brown pills still protect from pregnancy if you did not start your period? Or are they just sugar pills and I should be worried now of maybe being pregnant because they weren't actually birth control? ## I forgot to mention that we do not always begin with a condom but by the time he finishes, we've put one on and he still pulls out. ## ...

I've been on lomedia 24 fe for 4 months now,I just finished the first week of my white pills in my 4th pill pack. I had my period 10 days ago for one and a half days while I was on the second day of the brown pills. The past couple of days my breasts have been really sore. Is this a normal effect of the birth control? I highly doubt its a pregnancy thing because I take my pills at 11:30 pm every night,I never have missed a pill. Just a wondering if it's normal for me to have sore breasts even though I've been on this pill for a good 3 months and 7 days. Oh and I also have irregular bleeding from time to time. Advice?? ## Hello, Kat234! How are you? I'm sorry about the issue that you're having. But yes, those are listed as possible side effects of oral contraceptives ...

Hi, I take kelnor. I've been on it for about 3 months now. I have never missed a pill. But I was wondering if I was am okay to not take the pill at the exact same time everyday. I take it before I go to sleep. I don't always go to sleep at the same time. Is this okay? It's within a couple hours. Should I start taking it at the exact same time? Or am I okay to continue taking it before I go to bed? ## Hello, Emily! How are you? There usually isn't a problem taking it within an hour or two of the previous time, unless your doctor has given some reason not to to do so. The reason you're usually told to take it at the same time every day is to try to get you into the habit of taking it all the time, so you don't forget and miss any. The gap also shouldn't be more...

Femaine is a white pill with a 21 day cycle. Has anyone else tried it yet? ## This is not available in the U.S. and I cannot find any information on it. ## i was told to start the pill on the first day of my period i thought my period was on regular but i was light and it only lasted 2 days now i am wondering am i suppose to stop the pills or continue taking them because i already started. ## To be certain, you should consult your doctor, but the length of your period is usually not the issue, it is the menstrual cycle that is important and when you need to start them. ## can femiane affect your libido ## What are the side effects of Femaine? I had to stop taking Yasmine. ## I have never missed a pill before, but one night i was like 4hr late on taking it. When i did, my partner and had...

I have been on this pill since March and only got my period the first month I was on it and it was very light and only lasted a couple of days. haven't gotten it since. I have taken tests...all negative. Any one else experiencing this? ## Since there are hormonal based contraceptive tablets, both of these symptoms can be normal side effects of using the medication. There is really no harm in skipping your menstrual cycle, there are even contraceptives on the market that are specifically designed to let you skip for several months in a row. However, if you are concerned, you should consulted your doctor. Are there any other questions? ## I probably started taking this in April/May. I can't remember exactly. For the first three packs I didn't get a period. On the fourth pack I...

I had irregular bleeding and I've been taking it for two months now, as it's helped with the irregular bleeding. but this week I haven't been taking the pill at the exact same time due to a busy schedule but I've been taking them around late afternoon when i get the chance. I had unprotected intercourse and wondering my birth control will work still or should I just take a plan b pill IF I can to be on the safe side?? ## Hello, Rene! How are you? You actually have a window of about 12 hours, before it's considered a late pill and 24 hours, before it's considered a missed pill. When I was on the last 3 ferrous tablets i had my menstruation for 2 days but when on the last tablet i was intimate with my partner.. I just wanna know if there's a possibility that i will get pregnant bcoz of that? Pls reply. ## Hello, Lyka! How are you? As long as you've not missed taking any of the active tablets, you should still be protected, including those days. I am taking sprintec for migraine prevention, not birth control. I typically take 3 months of active pills beck taking a week off to have a period. I missed 3 days in a row during my second pack of active pills. I tried to catch up by taking two a day, but it was too late and a full blown period started. So i stopped taking them in the hopes of letting the period run its course. It has been 5 days of (very) heavy bleeding now, with clots. I have stopped the pill for 3 days now. When should I restart, or should i see if bleeding stops? ## It really would have been best, according to FDA directions, to have continued taking them, this can happen if you miss to many in a row, but should resolve itself, once you complete your next cycle. Other side effects are listed as possibly including n...

I have been on this birth control first time only because of a pilgrimage. However I missed my pill number 6 blue pill in week 1 and realized around 18 hours later and took two pills that day however I m bleeding heavily. Is this normal and also for how long will this bleeding last? I also was going slightly up and down on my time to take the pill however will get more consistent. I just want to ensure no periods after 2 months. As exactly that's when I go for 1 week. Any insight will be appreciated. ## These are hormonal based contraceptives, so yes, menstrual irregularities can be normal for the first 3 months, especially when you miss pills or take them more then 12 hours late. i have missed my dronis 30 tablet for 3 days. now it had started an early period. what to do now? ## Hi, at this point you are no longer protected against pregnancy, so you'll need to use some other back up method of birth control for awhile, such as condoms, or abstain. It is also advisable to just start a new pack of pills, you will be protected from pregnancy again after you have taken them continuously for 7 days in a row. Are there any other questions I can help with?
