What State Pain

Hi I just moved from Washington State to Portland,Oregon. I am on SSDI for back injury,3 bulging disks and massive arthritus in neck,and 3 in thoratic back,and for Degenerative disk disease.I was going to a pain management center-referred to them by my regular doc,& they had me taking Norco-Vicodin 30 mgs a day. When I came to Portland,OR the doc that I'm seeing now said she's going to "wean me off" of pain meds,that I need to be able to function doing just everyday living things like showering,walking the dog,ect. I asked her then what? After I'm completely off them,she said well U could try PT but U said that hasn't worked in the past-which it didn't the PT I went to actually sent me home saying it was making condition worse/more pain. What I need to know

There are plenty of doctors that listen and are willing to help, but they do have to be cautious, so they'll want your prior medical records, they'll want you to undergo testing and they'll want you to try various treatment options, rather than just resorting to pain medications. I'm desperate to find a doctor to advocate for me in social security as well my pain. I deal with daily pain aND my current doctor is retiring. The doctor I saway today is taking me off all pain medication as a way of reducing pain and even said the lesions in my brain are caused by the large amount of opiates. My son and I are visiting my daughter in Fla., and we need to fill our prescriptions for pain medication, written by our Dr. in our home state of Maine, but no pharmacy will fill them. Our Dr. didn't think we would have a problem, but he is wrong. Now we are running out of meds and 2000 miles away from home. We had planned on staying for another month, but don't know what to do. Does anyone know of pain clinics that take out of state patients? Also looking to get put on opanas, or something like that. Been on loratab 1000's for 15 years and they don't do the job anymore. On a visit to San Antonio, TX in Dec. I was able to fill my pain med prescriptions. As of Jan. 1, a new law was put into place and now I can't fill my prescription. Yes, if it was a controlled substance, it will be reported in the government's prescription database that they all have access to, regardless of where you obtained them. All such prescriptions are tracked and reported, now. It might be best to inform your doctor of what happened and handle the problem before it becomes one. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am so frustrated with how I have to worry regarding if or will my pain meds be cut off or not. I want to find out who knows what state is the most liberal regarding Pain Meds? I live in Montana. I am an older woman and I don't feel I have to be treated as if I am a young teenager and have to be in a contract, although I always do sign one I have never failed a U/A or anything. I would be willing to move to a State where I could live out the rest of my life without the fear of being cut off narcotics due to new regulations. So yesterday I FINALLY RECEIVED my prescription of Pain-O-Soma in the blister packs that are from (Supposedly) HAB Pharmaceuticals & they ARE / WERE AWFUL!!!! I live in Tacoma, Wa, I work in the medical field and have two lift injuries by lifting very obese patients (I'm 5'2). I had help on L&I but now different things flair it up. I have an unhealed neck hernia that hurts daily. Now my doc skirts the issue and last visit after I lifted something kinda heavy and came in for a bad flair up he said it is something I will have to learn to live with. My daughter is only 20 months and loves to be picked up but even this is painful half the time! Looking for a pain dr in las Vegas or Los Angeles area that accepts out of state patients ## Unfortunately, that is not going to be possible, now. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need an established relationship with a doctor to be prescribe anything and they're going to require that you live near where they practice. Pharmacies will also require that you live within a certain radius and the doctor be located within a certain radius to get anything filled. Is there anything else I can help with?

Trying to find out how to get on pain medication for my back pain how to get a good doctor to trust and help me with what I need ## Hello, Kid! How are you? Well, to be honest, pain medication should be the last resort, after trying other options to solve your problems. They carry the risks of causing problematic side effects and many of them can be habit forming, such as opiates. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, that would be the best place to start, they can refer you for some exams and evaluations to see what's causing your pain and then refer you on to a specialist, if needed. Can anyone recommend any good doctors in WA?

Hello. Hope someone can help me. I'm 35 years old from CO professional skier. I had a total of 3 lumbar back surgeries since mid Augest. I am healing well but still have many nights sleepless because of pain. Most resent surgery was only 3 weeks ago. I came to my parent home in Newport Beach CA to recover. My doctor at the University of Colorado Spine center sent with me a totally 100% legitimate prescription for 10 mg Oxycodone. It's the real original sheet complete with his signature, DEA and licence number and all the security features. I have chronic pain due to a accident in 2001, nd again in 2003. I have spinal stenosis, scoliosis, lower lumber sprain, nd redicolopothy! I live in NE WA State and have Interstitial Cystitis and have been dropped by my doctor for no good reason. I have been a good patient, have never failed a U/A, and always came to my appointments. They said they were being "nice" to give me 30 days worth of pills to find a new doc.. Well, those 30 days are past and I have called all over the place. No one will take a chronic pain patient! I can't believe this! What country are we living in? If anyone has any suggestions, please, please let me know! I've stretched my pills that are left just about as far as they will go. I take Oxycontin 30mg 3 x day, and Hydrocodone 10mg 4 x a day. I cannot face the pain that will come when I run out.

Is it legal to be treated for chronic pain in Oregon if you live in Washngton State where it is so very difficult and the patient is treated without dignity?
