I am teaching a medication administration course and need a list of schedule G drugs and rthe reason they would be listed as such ## I cannot find a complete list, most of my information is for the U.S. and they do not use the same schedule for drugs. However, the schedule G drugs are those that are available strictly by prescription. This is due to the possibility of side effects and the health dangers they may present if used improperly. Some that are included in this category are amphetamines and barbituates. What country are you in? That may help me find you the proper information. ## Thanks for the reply, We are in Canada and I do realize that these are a restricted drug but I am not sure if they are narcotics or if they are special drugs that are being used almost experimentally o...

i m taking rex-xr last two years...when i stop to take this then the problm reappear...would i take it whole life ## Rex XR contains the active ingredient Divalproex Sodium, it's used to treat certain mental health disorders. And if you stop taking it abruptly, after being on it for so long, you can experience a rebound effect. This can include the return of the original problems you started taking it for and they can actually be worse than they were to begin with. To stop any medication like this, you should talk to your doctor so they can help you set up a proper tapering schedule to gradually stop the medication to avoid the worst of those effects. Learn more Rex XR details here. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I need to get of Lexapro because of the side effects but understand the withdrawl is a horror ## Hi Kate, Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In addition to that, I'd also suggest making yourself a tapering schedule on a calender to track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame. Without a way to track your progress, tapering can sometimes be much more difficult than it needs to be. I hope this advice helps! ## I just started Lexapro, normal spoken side e...

Ihave been on cymbalta for 10 years. I tried to taper off but the side effects were like the worse flu I have ever had. I'm am depressed again and feel that it's time for a change. I don't want to increase dosage I want off. I have finally lost the weight I gained over the years on anti depressants and refuse to start gaining again. I'm bipolar so I can be without something. thanks for any help ## Unfortunately, weathering some of the withdrawal effects is likely the only way you're going to be able to stop taking it. Have you consulted your doctor? They may be able to help you set up a better tapering schedule that could minimize withdrawal effects a bit more. ## Hi Inda, I was on Cymbalta for 8 years, it took me 18 months to wean myself off it slowly. Don't rus...

please ket me know whether the combination of aceclofenac and paracetamol tablets will fall in the category of schedule'h' or not ## I am 62 years old, and use Aceclofenac ( 200mg daily) for the last 3 months for reducing rheumatoid arthritic pain. I wanted to know what the side effects are of this drug are, since I already have mitral and tricuspidal regurtitaion of the heart, and get palpitations often, especially after moderately strenuous exercise. I have no other issues except rheumatoid arthritis. ## I am 62 years old, and use Aceclofenac ( 100mg daily) for the last 3 days for reducing rheumatoid arthritic pain. I just got a new Rx for lortab 10. There are 2 refills amortized. With the schedule change, this cannot b refilled, can it? ## Hello, Jan! How are you? The change does not go into effect until October 6th, so yes, the refills will no longer apply by the time you'd be ready to order one. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Starting taking 15mg (2x daily) of Xarelto approx 2 weeks ago. Skin itching started EN, no rash. Benedryl does help a little. Then the headahes began. Now, toes, feet, ankles and hands (I look like I have "Miss Piggy's hands in the a.m.) and must remain propped in bed in pillows to get relief. I'm 56, retired law enforcement, non-smoker, very seldom drink but did have total knee replacement surgery 9 months ago. What the hell happened!? I'm retired, divorced and on a fixed income and was told that I was basically a walking time bomb....that he (the hemotologist) was going to have to keep me on anti-coagulants for at least next 9 months, with a repeat CT Scan w/contrast scheduled for 6 months from now to see if the body has absorbed them. In the mean time, he doesn't ...

I have been on 10mg for 2 years about 6 months ago I would have brief lightheadedness& weakness feeling, especially when standing, visual disturbances diagnosed as painless ocular migraines, sleep difficulty, occasional joint pain, and a feeling of "skipped" heart beats, and slowed then speeded up to normal heart rate...had an EEG Carotid scan , and MRI all normal have scheduled a cardiologist apt but after reading this thread I wonder if these symptoms are from the bystolic?? I will certainly mention it-i never had a fast heart rate to begin with... ## anyone out there??? ## Hello, Jersey! How are you? It would be very odd for them to be caused by the medication after you've been on it for 2 years, but it is possible. Are you on any other medications? How much fluid do y...

I took two SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 this AM by mistake. Is there anything I should watch for and do I take the next scheduled dose in 12 hrs? ## Hi Eve, Sorry to hear about your dosing mistake. If you're feeling ok hours afterwards I wouldn't necessarily be overly concerned, but just for your information, side effects of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim can include: Painful or swollen tongue; dizziness, spinning sensation; ringing in your ears; joint pain; or sleep problems (insomnia) More serious side effects that can occur may include: Fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash; the first sign of any skin rash, no matter how mild; pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding; cough, feeling short of breath; diarrhea that is watery or bloody; feeling...

I just found out from my Dr that tramadol is schedule 2 only in Louisiana? I was cut back to 2 a day! Is this really true? ## Hello, Sam! How are you? Yes, that is true, it was changed to a schedule 2, but not just in Louisiana, it's changed overall for the entire U.S. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Schedule 2? No.. Schedule 4 (IV). Where do people come up with this crap information? ## Tramadol is a Schedule IV in Louisiana. Soma has been changed to a Schedule II in Louisiana. ## I'm in Louisiana and need to know the laws here to become a pain patient {edited for privacy} ## There are no laws stating...

Recently, I had a scheduled appointment with my primary physician. I had a chest cold, which is rare for me. The doctor gave me an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, a Medrol 6-day pack, and an inhaler as treatment for the chest cold, which I didn't need. I consider this too many medications for just a chest cold, and that wasn't the reason I was seeing her. But I took the first two, but did not use the inhaler. During the next few weeks, I had two episodes where my throat seized up, once when a bit of water went down the wrong way, and then when I swallowed salad dressing with a hot pepper flake in it. My throat went into strong spasms with sharp, quick intakes of air - and I could not control it. It stopped on its own, eventually, about the time I decided I would dial 911 and gasp...

I am scheduled for Jetrea 4/30. I am wondering if your side effects have subsided and would you do it again. ## Hoping to hear from people who used Jetrea to close Macular Hole. I am wondering about lasting side effects. Do you think it was worth it? Did you need to go on to have to have surgery? Any thoughts, opinions and insights on Jetrea are appreciated. ## I have had a successful experience with Jetrea. I have just posted a brief description of my post injection recovery here and have kept a blog. I hope my comments will be of help to you. ## Thank you so much for sharing your story. Is it possible one of the side effects is iching all over? I have been taking this and just got switched to a higher dose. Have been taking the higher dose for about 2 weeks and today have some iching problem. Ich all over!, even my hands. No cold or flu symptoms. ## Hi Rachel, itching, rashes, or hives, are actually caused by a severe allergic reaction to this medication. It seems like it just took a while to build up in your system before your body recognized it as being allergenic. The medication guidelines suggest that you seek medical attention right away if you do experience a severe reaction such as this one. I wouldn't feel too worried as long as you are able to stop the medication asap and schedule a visit with your doctor to assess the situation and get that itching to sto...

Last night I might have taken Nifedipine er 30mg two times accidentally....at 8:30 and at 10:30. I had no side effects except for my pulse increasing from 73 to 93 within an hour of the second pill. It is now 6:23 a.m. I am fine but a little hesitant about whether to take my metoprolol succinate er 25 mg at 10:30 this morning. And do I resume the regular dose of Nifedipine tonight at about 9 pm? ## Did you experience any other symptoms? The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and hypotension. And yes, generally you should just continue with your normal dosing schedule, unless your doctor directs otherwise. Are these the only medications you are currently taking?

As a pharmacist I can tell you that your mistake will most likely pass without any major problems because you did it on the first day. So chances are that your child might suffer from nausea and/or diarrhea. Apart from that nothing more should take place. Just go back to the scheduled dosage. ## My 3 month old baby is suffering from a cough and cold for the last 5 days, doctor has prescribed azithral 100 3.5ml twice a day. I haven't started using Eliquis, yet although it's been prescribed for my atrial flutter problem, but I've read some rather disturbing stories from people who have used it. Naturally I'd like to hear more from others about what to expect, and what reasonable alternatives may have been found with fewer or no adverse effects. ## I’ve been on Eliquis for over 2 years with no problems. Maybe you should check if you’re taking them with other meds that might interfere with them. ## The typical side effects of Eliquis may include nausea, headache, easy bruising, and increased risk of bleeding. You should take it, as prescribed by your doctor, and make sure to keep all regularly schedule doctor's appointments for monitoring of your condition. Are you on any other...

Hello everyone, I was addicted to percocet for about a yr, i have degenerative osteo arthritis, extremely painful, have had a total knee replacement and am due for another, along with 19 operation bandaid fixes (all knee related) I also work full time, take care of a massive home (cleaning daily) and my 3 kids and husband.. Ugh the percocet really allowed me to live again, no pain, full nights sleep. But I knew I was dependant and I had to give it up.. I have such an insane life schedule that I couldn't do cold turkey as I know what withdrawals are like and I can't take time off work... I started suboxone, the doctor has me on 10 mg.. Yes it was a miracle for about the first week, but I'm experiencing some crazy crap... Seriously vivid nightmares that I can fully remember, e...
