I just want to know if Rumoquin helps get ri d of sciatic pain. ## Rumoquin NF contains Dexamethasone and Methocarbamol, this combines a steroid with a muscle relaxant. I have a large, very painful hemangioma on my S1. I have been given hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10-325,ibuphrophen 800 mg, gabapentin, 300 mg and Tizanidine 4 mg which helps. Over the weekend, I have run out of Tizanidine and am in a lot of pain, also the sciatica is the worst. I was wondering if I could take naproxyn 500 mg to see me through the two days. ## Can Naproxyn be taken instead of Tizanidine? ## Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory and should Not be taken if you're taking ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory drugs. I am a 73 old Indian male generally in good health except repeated episodes of depression and heart bypass surgery 20 yrs ago. Since last three months I am suffering from right leg pain and numbness, initiated and aggravated during morning walk. I just moved to the Chicagoland area - northwest suburbs, actually. I am looking for a good pain specialist who is not afraid to prescribe meds, yet is also willing to try other things that I have not already been exposed to. Problem area is EXTREME back pain due to sciatica - I have doc records, MRI's, etc. Any recommendations out there? Looking for a med as good as soma or one same as it leg pain and cramps need knee surgery cant do it without soma. ## Please help with the name of a med for sciatic nerve leg and muscle pain. Hello. I have multiple pain issues due to generalized OA, neuralgia, bilateral sciatica, trigger thumbs, carpal tunnel, protruding discs, trapped nerves, compression of spinal cord at L4/5, tendenosis, fibromyalgia and chronically inflammed tendon/nerve sheaths. I'm 52, female and in quite a bit of pain and take a few meds that include 600mg GABAPENTIN 3xdaily, which I love and can't do without. I also take dihydra., and naproxin. I am taking olmesartan 20mgs and 120 mgs diltiazem per day. Have had chronic, incapacitating leg and hip pain, almost like sciatica, unable to walk, plus a rash on my legs and arms. Stopped dilt for 10 days and pain almost gone. Coincidence or can ths terrible pain etc be related to dilt? Can walk now too. ## Yes, it could be due to the Diltiazem, it has happened to others that have taken it and I experienced such problems myself with several blood pressure medications. I'm a military veteran in desperate need of a good pain management specialist. I received my injuries during 8 yrs of naval service. I started experiencing seveir back pain before separating but was unable to seek in depth medical treatment while still serving due to the nature of my job and requirements of duty while over seas. After separating it took two years of going to the VA before they we're able to find a fracture in my L1 vertebrae, 3 hurniated disk, and degenerative disk disease. I was placed on Norco 10. I have areally bad back, herniated discs, crooked, sciatica, spondylosis a and 6mong other problems and excruciating pain. At 60, I now have a full disability because of chronic pain from cervical and lumbar radiculopathy and attending sciatica. For 12 years I've gone to a GREAT doctor in Chicago. But this neurologist has retired, only to be replaced by an anti-oxycodone Chinese anesthesiologist who is very authoritative and just a damn unpleasant lady. After driving all the way in to see her yesterday, she took me off my oxycodone 30's and 15's and gave me a prescription for oxycodone 40, for a month--and there is no such thing, as I discovered last night--only Oxycontin 40, and she didn't write for that. Is their a difference between the two? ## I hace severe/chronic sciatica and the doctor has been proscribing Vicodin/hydrocodone for years......2 at a time and some days, as much as 4 doses. Recently he cut the tylenol portion so that it would be safer for my liver than the previous 10/660 and 10/500 tablets. Accordingly, he prescribed small amounts of Percocets (10/325 E712) and Hydrodone Norco (10/325) so that I could decide which worked better for me. My initial reaction was that 2 of the percocet compared to 2 of the hydro manifested mainly in drowsiness. I have had 4 series of 3 injections in my back which did NOT help at all as well as surgery (two hemi discectomies in my lower back) which helped my sciatica but now it's coming back and my surgeon says he can't do any more surgery. I've had a trial of a spinal cord stimulator which didn't help at all and I have a tens unit. I have fibromyalgia, arthritis, lower back pain and worsening sciatica. I've been taking Norco 10/325 and Neurontin which helps the most, but my family doctor wants me to find a pain management doctor to prescribe these meds now. I am 53. My metal Hip replacement is on the recall list for Smith & Nephew for loosening & leeching metal / metal poisoning. The hip was recalled in 2012 but my health provider (Kaiser) Never notified me. I am now experiencing severe swelling & redness around my ankles & my feet & really all lower legs are painful & numb at the same time. Also getting sharp cramp like pain in front of upper legs. I have herniated discs and sciatica. I was referred to a pain management doctor, who prescribed Lyrica. After reading all of these posts, and finding out the side effects, I'm not sure I want to take this medicine. Has anyone had good results with Lyrica, without these side effects? ## I have been using it for about7-8 months for nerve pain caused by intercostal neuritis and it has worked great for me. Of course I still get pain, but it is greatly reduced in both severity and frequency. The side affects are lethargy at first and forgetfullness, but it goes away in a few weeks and to me was definately worth the wait.
