Are there any doctors in Pinellas County Florida who take the Florida State insurance (blue card) who can help me get off of opiates? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? The Suboxone website has a search engine that lets you search by zip code for doctors in your area that treat with it. You can find it at Suboxone.com click here, and their contact information will be included, so you can call to see what insurance they accept and if they are accepting new patients. The FDA classifies Suboxone as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Opioid dependence is a medical diagnosis characterized by an individual's inability to stop using opioids (morphine, heroin, codeine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, etc.) even when objectively it is in his or her best interest to do so. In 1964 the WHO Expert Committee on Drug Dependence introduced "dependence" as "A cluster of physiological, behavioural and cognitive phenomena of variable intensity, in which the use of a psychoactive drug (or drugs) takes on a high priority. The necessary descripti...

I had a problem with opiates for 6 years. My drug of choice was Roxy 30s, and occasional OC 80 (when Roxy wasn't available). I am now 2 years clean and I am on Suboxone 8mg 4x per day. After a year of taking this, I started feeling very tired. I went for a sleep study and they prescribed Nuivigil 250mg twice a day, over the FDA's guidelines. After 6 months my moods were out of whack. I had symptoms of BiPolar, so my doctor gave me 50 mg of Pristiq. I noticed some change but after a month I was back to the mood swings. My doctor had me see an Endocrinologist. This doctor ordered blood work and noticed my testosterone was very low and prescribed a Testosterone shot every week to get my levels back up. The tiredness went away but my mood swings still were a problem. I found out tha...

Hi, my name is Rebecca. I have been using opiates for about 3 years now, but I've only been addicted to opiates for a year now. I say opiates but I go back and forth between opiates and suboxone. For the past year I have been using suboxone almost everyday(supplied by boyfriend) and he does it too. Last week my boyfriend and I went through a nasty breakup and he hasn't been giving me anymore suboxone or using it himself either. We were together 5 years and were happy(I'm absolutely devastated.) snd we also LIVE TOGETHER. however, I could go on about what's been going on in the relationship and how upset I have been, and him just going out and partying like nothing happened, but that's not why I'm typing this. So back to last week, we broke up and quit taking subo...

What meds are commonly used in outpatient rehab to stop using opiate pain pills. ## The one that is most commonly used is suboxone. It is a wonderful medication that allows you to go off opiates without having to feel the horrendous opiate withdrawals. You must be off opiates at least 24 hours to take it. Having opiates in your system while taking suboxone can make you very sick, I know this from experience. Hope this helps and good luck! ## The other one commonly used is Methadone, but unlike Suboxone, many people treated with it require a lifetime maintenance dose and never become completely drug free. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And as to the Su...

round white pill with an 627 on one side and nothing on the other ## This is Tramadol 50mgs, a generic for Ultram. This is classified as a narcotic, however it was derived from a sythetic one in a failed attempt to reduce addiction and side effects. Thus they have a medication that acts like a basic anti-inflammatory, but carries the same side effects and addictive potential as an opiate. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, vomiting, drowsiness and constipation.

TRAMADOL=DECEPTIVE POISON. this drug is one of the nastier little secrets of the painkiller industry. from my experience it is highly addictive with all the standard withdrawal symptoms plus severe interference with the logical thought processes, more so than other opiates. and to think that this drug is advertised as a safer alternative to other painkillers. I work with numbers as part of my job and I was unable to function once i ran out of my supply early. put myself into a long term suboxone rehab program. am almost ready to "graduate" from the program. (yipee!!!). this nightmare has cost me about $450 a month for doc visits and meds. TRAMADOL = DECEPTIVE POISON ## Sorry about the problem you had from taking Tramadol. And yes, it can be very deceptive. Since it is classified...

I have had a problem with opiates going back to 2006 starting with vicodin following shoulder surgery. My usage progressed to Percocet, fentanyl, OxyContin, suboxone - clean for 2.5 years, relapse on tramadol, back on suboxone for 2 years, jumped at 2mgs and now weening with kratom. To say it has been a journey is an understatement. I am not naive enough to think that using kratom means I'm "clean" from opiates. It is filling my receptors just like the rest an it's time for me to stop. I've been actively trying to stay clean for about a year now. I no longer chase the high, I just run from WDs. I've gone through them more times to count and only once pulled through and stayed clean for longer than a week or 2. I actually was clean for almost 3 years following my ...

I am a man who is trapped on methadone. I took opiates for three years and I was off for six weeks, with what felt like having the symptoms of flu. At age 28 I was prescribed methadone. That was 18 years ago. I have tried about 7 times to get off, all with very intense pain, sickness, and diarrhea (sic). I am now aware that I won't ever get off it now, as the methadone is in my bone marrow. I would love to have a life free from methadone, but it is never going to happen. I have been quoted up to £5000 for treatment, where the hell am I going to get money like that? I'm on 60mls a day, along with another highly addictive drug. Naltrexone and subutex are not an option as, if I go any lower than 60 I start to have very painful withdrawal symptoms. I have had a heart attack and...

I am being prescribed methadone for opiate addiction been of all other drugs for 4 years I'm in the process of trying to have weight loss surgery and trying to find out if they will let me have it done since I'm on methadone? ## Hello, Brandy! How are you? Have you talked to the doctor or clinic that would be doing the surgery? There is a chance that you may not be able to, since if you're planning something like stomach banding, it can affect how some medications are absorbed. ## It puts you at greater risks for complications with anesthesia. For elective surgery it is a risk most drs would rather not take. Talk to your surgeon. ## I am having Gastic Sleeve surgery and have been on 110 mg of Methadone for 10 months. My surgeon has been wonderful. All is OK with anethesia an...

i have been addicted to hydrochodone 10mg, approx. 12-15/day for the last 5 yrs. do you think that suboxome is a good choice to use to kick this habit? ## My husband was addicted to hydrochodone for 11 years. He went on suboxone and was a new man for about 3 months until he decided he wanted to get off it and back on hydrochodone. There was no protocol to get off suboxone. He called the company that made it and they couldn't tell him anything. He got off it anyway and is now back on hydro with a vengeance, and we are separating. It works if you want to stay with it and go to a program for support!!!!! ## Suboxone has helped many people become completely drug free and beat their opiate addictions. Judi, there just isn't a protocol for going off it by YOURSELF and they sure aren&#...

Hi... my husband has been addicted to pain pills off and on for the past 5 years, with things getting really out of hand the past year. Almost 2 weeks ago he went to detox and rehab. He AMA'ed out of rehab 3 days ago because he said he couldn't take it. He is willing try something to help him control his cravings. I've done some reading on Naltrexone and was wondering how well it works and if anyone knows of a doctor in the Houston area that prescribes it? Right now he needs all the help that he can get. Thank you! =) ## Hi, I was hooked on pills and opiates for 5 years. Heavy user. Tried to quit many times. Plus two state run detox. Failed them all. I know everyone gets really sick. Hello, I have just one question so here goes! I have been on a pain management program with suboxone for almost three years now due to chronic pain. I do not have a prior drug addiction problem. I say this due to many people think you have to have a prior opioid problem. That's just my question tho. My recent ex broke up with me because he said the only way you can be prescribed suboxone for pain management is if you had a prior drug abuse problem. I told him that was not true by no means but he argues an says he's right. Can anyone please back me up and explain to him in the comments that he is wrong to a certain extent. I would really appreciate it. Thank you and god bless! ## Hello, Lyn! How are you? You are correct and your ex is not. Suboxone contains the opiate Buprenorphi...

this is my third day one saboxone. Day 1 and 2 were horrible. Day 3 is a little better. Any in site as to how long it will take to feel ok again, some energy? ## Hello, Marie! How are you? It can vary from person to person and could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. What dosage are you on? A lot of it is dependent on that. Sometimes, it has to be adjusted to the dosage the best helps the individual being treated. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

How long does it take to get addicted to neulactil is it possible after only 5 to 6 weeks , ## Hello, Deborah! How are you? This medication is listed as containing Periciazine, which the FDA classifies as a typical antipsychotic. Thus, it is not actually considered to be addictive, though your body may get used to having it, after being on it for 4 to 5 weeks. But it should not cause the severe withdrawals that you may experience from opiates. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

My son has a very severe drug addiction to pain med. He has turned to one of the strongest on the street and is now using needles. He has really hit bottom and wants to quit. Someone told him about Suboxone and said that it would help him to break his addiction. Is it a safe drug to use to quit, or does it only replace one addiction for another? Can a family practitioner prescribe the drug if it is safe? ## I have taken Suboxone for almost 3 years now. It has saved my life. I do consitter it a wonder drug. I never used the needle, but I did have a nasty Oxycottin addiction. I would recomend Suboxone to anyone who has a opiate addiction. They have nothing to loose but the addiction. naltrexone was prescribed following detox from opiate addiction......I'm trying to get off the naltrexone but I start having "withdrawal".....muscle pain, nausea...when I stop taking the naltrexone.....I've been opiate free for months.....why is this happening? everything I've read says that naltrexone is not physically addictive, but I'm starting to wonder......has anyone had this problem with naltrexone? ## Your body can become dependent on anything that you take for a long period of time, because it gets used to having that substance. This means that a sudden cessation may result in some withdrawal effects, though they aren't usually as severe as the withdrawals from an actual addiction. Have you consulted your doctor for assistance? ## Can I take Naltrexo...

My husband is prescribed gabapentin. He has been taking it for about four years now. He first took it while in rehab to overcome opiate addiction. He can take ten 600mg tablets at once and go about his day. When he runs out he buys it through other means. When he can't find it, he takes opiates. I am an extreme enabler and I give him money every week. He lies and steals and pawns things to support his habit. I need help. I don't know what to do. He wants help but doesn't want to go to rehab. How can I help him and save our family? ## Sara, that's tough to hear. You pretty much described me. My wife took our 3 kids and stayed with her parents for a week. How long after using opiates can I take Zubsolv without making the withdraws worse? ## You need to be in full withdrawals, otherwise the Naloxone in the Zubsolv could throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals.
