my doctor told me to take 10mg zanidip every second day he thinks 5mg are not avalible in ireland i need to take 5mg a day ## Zanidip contains the active ingredient Lercanidipine and, from what I've found, it's listed as only being available in 10 and 20mg tablets. However, as long as it isn't time released, it should be okay to cut them in half. Or is there some reason your doctor doesn't want you to do so?

I have been on Cymbalta, then changed to the generic Cymgen (30mg) for 8 years. I decided after this amount of time to stop and asked my psychiatrist on ways to do this. FISRT of all, my psychiatrist said that because i was on such a low dose that there will be NO side effects of stopping the drug. My response was to inform her that on days i have missed taking my meds i have severe head zaps and couldn't manage just stopping (Cold Turkey) if that was the case. She then put me on a course to taper off: X2 weeks 30mg Cymgen & 20mg LilyFluoxetime (prozac)- After two weeks i stopped the Cymgen and carried on taking the lily for another two weeks as requested by my doctor. I would like to know is it dangerous to take say 10 mg or 20 mg during alcohol detox. I am 8 days into detox and still have shakes and have problems sleeping which makes me feel terrible all day, my mind just goes around and around and cannot drift off.I only took one tablet 10 mg after tapering off the booze but afraid to take as don't want another addiction. any advice appreciated, thank you. ## Went to hospital for alcohol detox . Hi I was on Amloc 10mg daily for years and my BP was well controlled. Over the years though i started experiencing serious hair loss. I was put on Zanidip 10mg daily. After 3 weeks my doctor decided to increase the dose to 20mg daily as my BP was higher than it should be. After commencing the increased dosage i started experiencing rapid heart beat and palpitations. dizziness, breathlesness and a feeling that I had an elephant on my chest . Doctor suggested splitting the dose and taking 10mg in the morning and 10 at night. This has improved the situation but is not perfect. Hello all :) I have been desperately searching for information & reassurance as to why I am experiencing such a nightmare ordeal after being taken off Lexapro by my doctor, cold turkey. I have been taking 10-20mg for years. This week (since cessation - 10 days ago) I have been to the doctor 3 times and the hospital on Thursday night - convinced I am dying! I feel SO tired that I can barely lift my head at times. I have horrible headaches - frequent "brain zaps" (thought I was having a stroke). I was throwing up and lived next to the toilet for 2 days.... I get "rushes" of what feels like adrenalin (?) that crawls down my arms and then tingles in my hands and finger tips. 3yrs down on Lex after severe depressive, anxiety episode--life changing. Took long time (3mos) to adapt to drug (brain zaps, sleepyness, fog) with initisl 20mg. 10mg per day is my dosage now. Call it my happy pill...given me new lease on life, sleep, etc. If just starting out, keep faith, side affects subcide and body adapts. Never thought depression when happen to me...wrong ## Awesome! I am very glad that it has worked so well for you. And yes, that is correct, side effects will normally subside after 4 to 6 weeks, when your body gets used to the medication. I'd also like to add that if one medication doesn't work for you, there are others that you can try. Are there any questions or comments?

Interesting side effects just on the first week on 10mg. Tonight I will be starting the 20mg. In the past couple of nights I've had almost hallucinations. The shadows in the room at night seem to be moving when there is nothing that could be causing them to move in the room. I'd close my eyes because the moving shadow business was a little too much for me to handle and when I did that I saw like crazy lines and junk, hard to explain. The following day (today). I've felt extreme anxiety. Had kind of a dejavu moment and have been super paranoid all day. Getting kind of zappy tingly feelings on the top of my skull which feels pretty weird. Hi, I have been on 20mg of Citalopram (Celexa) for a year and starting to come off them. I was taking 2 x 10 mg tablets a day. So I started by alternating 2x10mg one day followed by 1x10mg the next day and alternating for a few weeks. Well that was the plan, but I felt no side effects after 3 days so figured I could go down to 10mg a day. I was on 10mg a day for about 3 days and had no withdrawal symptoms, so again figured I had this tapering stuff sorted and then decided to go to 10mg every other day. Hi..I am currently taking OxyContin 20mg 3xdaily, Percocet, Zanaflex, Neurontin & Trazodone for the chronic pain that I've been suffering for for over 13 years of a debilitating illness called: Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I am 60 yrs old and had a back injury that I was prescribed many opiods. I was dependant on them and a dr perscribed suboxone film for dependancy. I went to my pain doctor yesterday and did a urine test and it came back that I had Methamphetamine and THC in me.I take alot of medicines everyday,I start with DULOXETINE, then add Methocarbamol,Gabapentin,Oxycodone,800mg Ibruprophin,all 3 times a day and at bedtime it's Clonazepam,Zolpidem and Pramipeexole.
