What is the best treatment for diabetic nerve pain other than antidepressants prescribed by the doctors? ## Some people do very well with some anticonvulsant medications, such as Gabapentin and Pregabalin. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight gain. They are also approved to treat certain types of nerve pain, and some mood disorders. What are the patient's normal blood sugar levels?

Has any one had success with the use of Zonisamide for pain with fibro and if so how long did it take ? I've had surgery and pain block injections for damage to nerves in my lower spine from a 'spur' - neither helped. Been on painkillers daily for 35 yrs, tried everything and now at best left with 80% pain. Had 100mcg fentanyl patches and their effect lessened so now I'm on 62.5 mcg fentanyl + 3x 300 mg gabapentin + 3x 50 mg tramadol combined daily. Still in agony. Any suggestions to help me please? What is the maximum mcg strength of combined fentanyl patches that can be used together every 72 hours? Thanks.

I am at the mercy of the medical and insurance systems for any quality of life possible for me after a failed back surgery led to an unstable spine and 57 degree curve scoliosis. I'm having shoulder surgery on feb. 20th on my rotator cuff. I do have pain issues, spasms, weakness, neurological/muscular issue not diagnosed yet, myoclonic jerks...peripheral neuropathy, diabetes, some sort of asthma.....on a lot of meds. Does anyone know if suboxine can be used for pain. i have fibromylgia and have ruptured disks and pinched syacitia nerves. im currently on 3 5mg of loritabs and 3 300mg of neurotin a day for pain mag. but it dosnt really work most days. i tried suboxin one day and it helped my pain much more than my meds. was i imagining it or does it really help. ## Suboxone can help with pain, although it's probably not nearly as potent as other narcotic pain meds. I have been suffering from sever spondylosis with numbness in the fingers. The treatment advised was traction and pain killers, which did not really solve my problem. Now for the past few years i found numbness in my left hand fingers throughout the day which makes it very difficult for me to do my work. I was asked to do a nerve test which diagnosed as carpal tunnel syndrome and was advised surgery and a vitamin tablet for the nerve. I did have the surgery; however i opted for acupuncture treatment, which did give me relief for a period of time but now it is persist even more. I have been in pain for over 12 years now and have lower/mid back pain*rotator cuff/tendon/arthritis in both l/r shoulder whit a serious bone spur in my right shoulder*migraine headaches*menicus tare in my left hip*and a menicus tare in my left knee with osteo/skeleton arthritis. I would like to know about the doses of nivalin used for treatment of chronic muscle and back pain (i.e. degenerative discs or pinched nerves like cialtagia / sciatica)? ## I know that in Cuba one patient that was tried with Nivalin for cialtagia pain that does not respond to other treatments. I cannot contact the patient and doctor that prescribed Nivalin inyection subcutaneous for two months and the pain gone for ever. I suffer cialtagia and lumbagia and cannot use drugs for problems with my stomach. I need to know the dosis recomended. I am in Florida. My doctor does not have information.
