I've been prescribed sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 for a suspected bacterial infection along with ibuprofen 800 for pain. I take them with meals twice a day, except for the ibuprofen. I only take that when the pain is unbearable. I'm experiencing side effects such as cramping, upset stomach and diarrhea. ..as expected. Should I take pepto bismol to help with the belly issues? Also, my family and I have noticed that I have become very grumpy since I started the meds. Is this a cause of the meds or simply from dealing with the pain?
