My doctor gave me pax 10mg to take twice daily for 'stress' which was causing my 'high blood pressure' to rise very high. Is it safe to take them? And I don't know what the side effects of pax is. I get chronic migraines, and I have chronic osteoarthritis, and I only have half a colon, and the specialist told me it's very important that I must not get constipated. So for these problems I have is it safe to take the pax? And what are the side effects of these tablets? Thank you. ## Hello, Lorna! How are you? Pax 10 is listed as containing 10mgs of Diazepam, which the FDA classifies as a benzodiazepine, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. The main concern that I see is tha...

Hi, I take 30 mg of pax -10 and 150mg of venlor (antidepressant) 400mg of epilem daily, although I'm not epileptic I have seizures now and then from stress. I am also on strong pain medication as I have compression fractures in my C spine. Is all this safe together? I'm especially concerned about the pax, although it really helps I'm wondering if it's a dangerous dosage? Thank you kindly ## Hello, Callum! How are you? Regardless of why you are experiencing seizures, the same medications are used to treat and prevent them. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight changes. Pax is listed as having the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, ...

Is it really safe? ## Pax contains the active ingredient Diazepam and no, it is generally isn't recommended that it be used during pregnancy. In early pregnancy, it has been known to cause congenital malformations and in late pregnancy, the infant can be born with Benzodiazepine intoxication. round white pill 20 mg- what should teh imprint code look like? ## Well, since this is a generic for the antidepressant Paxil, there are many companies that make it and all of their imprint codes will be different. This means there is no possible way that I could post all of them. Some are: PAXIL 20, this would be the name brand. 93 7115 ZC 16 N2 M APO 083 par877 P2 G C 56 422 POT 20 And this, of course, is not a comprehensive list. Do any of these match your tablets? If not, please post the imprint and I will gladly look it up for you. ## Thank you! The imprint is CZ16. I was just a little paranoid because the shape of the pill was different this time and when it arrived by mail the tablets had fallen out of the container and were loose in the packaging. Anyway, now I can rest easy. Th...

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and irritability. Hi, I have been on paxidep 37.5 CR for a year. I feel I am ready to start weaning off it. Here in India my psychiatrist suggested that I start taking 25 CR. But I had earlier done that & it had strong effect. I tried tolerating for a few weeks but had to get back to 37.5. I feel I am ready now. I would like to reduce 10% of my dosage every month. HOW DO I WEAN OFF A 37.5 CR TABLET AT 10%? ## This medication (Paroxetine)[1] is considered an SSRI and should be gradually tapered under the careful supervision of your doctor. "See also: SSRI discontinuation syndrome... Many psychoactive medications can cause withdrawal symptoms upon discontinuation from administration. Evidence has shown that paroxetine has among the highest incidence rates and severity of withdrawal syndrome of any ...

I have been on paxil over 6 weeks now up to 60 Mgs whAt is the longest this can take to start working or does it mean if its bit working by now it just won't work for me please respond ## Hello, Theresa! How are you doing? 6 weeks is the maximum time it takes to reach it's full efficacy level in the body, in many people it reaches that level in as little as 4 weeks. Learn more Paxil details here. But how long have you been at this dosage? You really need to be at one dosage for that period of time, in order to see if it's going to help you, because every time you raise the dosage you cause more side effects to occur, which can make it seem like it isn't working. ## Don't always listen to what the "supposed" tested length is told to you as this will be quite d...

I have been on this drug for the past 3 years myself. I have been on Xanax, Lorazepam, Paxil, and this drug Clonazepam has been the best thus far... sure it may be addictive and you may feel that you need to run to your bottle and pop a pill every time you have an attack or when you have weened yourself off it for quite some time and suddenly an attack occurs. I felt like a junkie taking so many different drugs trying to control my panic attacks... but I have learned that first, I need this drug to help control the attack and to help regulate my heart rate as well as my blood pressure. Second, I need to find ways that will help me relax myself during an attack with different techniques such as breathing, walking, thinking happy thoughts... Lastly, seeking psychiatric help, I was ashamed...

I've been on Paxil for 1 year and am tapering off from 10 mg. I'm on week 2 and have experienced racing heart, tremors, zapping in hands, nausea. Omg! I would never recommend this drug. I'll just deal with panic attacks and my .25 Xanax. ## How much have you lowered your dose, so far? Some withdrawal effects are normal any time you lower the dosage or stop taking a medication, according to the NIH. They can occur due to stopping anything from a blood pressure medication, to a daily dose of Aspirin. Stopping your Xanax would actually be much worse, since it can be habit forming and suddenly stopping it creates the risk of seizures, as reported by the FDA. Why are you stopping the Paxil?

Has anyone taken Paxlovid for Covid? I was prescribed this medication and could only take 2 of the 5 day prescription due to the awful side effects. Number one was the medication made me feel worse than I felt before taking it. Number two.... It literally felt and tasted like someone was continuously spraying hairspray down my throat for hours until the dose wore off. For me, the side effects were much too harsh and bothersome and unfortunately, couldn't complete the 5 day prescription. Has anyone else had any experience taking this medication? ## I was prescribed Paxlovid for Covid in August. Within 3 hours, I felt like a new woman! Seriously, the cough lessened up, the fatigue lessened up and I could breathe again. The milder symptoms did persist for about a month or so though. Th...

I have been on Paxil for anxiety for about 6 months, I was having trouble sleeping so my Dr added Trazodone 50mg 1 an hour before bedtime. Just wondering if anyone has been on the two together, and is it safe, since Traodone is also an antidepressant, I have to say I actually feel even better now, than when I was just taking the Paxil. I have been taking the Trazodone for about a month now. ## Hi Sandie, Hopefully your doctor was aware of this before adding the Trazodone, but according to various drug interaction checkers, combining these two medications may increase your risk of developing a rare but serious condition called serotonin syndrome. Symptoms associated with serotonin syndrome that you may want to watch out for, can include the following: Confusion, hallucination, blurred vi...

Please let me know what you take it for, how much you take and how long it took to work? Please respond. ## Hi, Theresa! Has it had any effect, yet? It can take about 4 to 6 weeks for a medication like Paxil to reach its full level of effectiveness in your body. Generally, that's about the same time when you'll notice any side effects reaching their peak in intensity, then starting to taper off. If it's had no effect by then, that means it most likely isn't the right medication for you. Learn more Paxil details here. I've never tried it, but it worked very well for my ex-husband, he was on it for years. What others have you tried? ## No I have felt no improvement at all. I just was raised from 20 to 30 Mgs a few days ago but I have been on it almost 4 weeks now. Do y...

Left my paxil at home and I'm on trip. Can I take my wives prozac for a few days or just skip my antidepressant altogether? ## Hello, Chrissy! How are you? It would be best to check with your doctor, because the doses differ from one to the other, even though they are in the same class of medications. If you skip it for the duration of your trip, you may experience withdrawal effects, that may include nausea, diarrhea, rebound depression and anxiety. What dosages do you each take?
