Which dosage of Vicodin is the most effective or strongest? My family physician put me on 5/500, but my surgeon has put me on 7.5/325. Is one supposed to do more then the other one? ## Hi marie, Vicodin 5/500 contains (5 mg) of Hydrocodone and (500 mg) of Acetaminophen; Vicodin 7.5/325 contains (7 mg) of Hydrocodone and (325 mg) of Acetaminophen. Hydrocodone is the narcotic pain reliever and is much stronger than Acetaminophen-which is included to increase the effects of the narcotic. That being said, I believe that the surgeon gave you a somewhat stronger dose since 7.5/325 contains (2.5 mg) more of the narcotic than 5/500. Medication effects each individual differently however. The surgeon may have given you a dose with less Acetaminophen seeing as it can be very damaging to the liver...

Ms. Verwon, Hi, This is jayjay124. Hope you are doing well. I have a question that needs to be answered about a certain strenght of Vicodin. Is there such a srenght as 1000mg. I have a co-worker that says that he was prescribed some a while back. I stated that I have never heard of such a strenght and that 1000mgs would be very hard on the liver and that I knew of someone that could give us an honest answer. I TAKE 30MG OXYCODONE EVERY 8 HOURS AND IT NEVER LASTS. I START FEELING PAIN ABOUT 6 HOURS IN. I RAN OUT AN TOOK A 40MG MORPHINE AND IT LASTED ABOUT 10 HOURS. ## Hello, Sue! How are you? Here's the information on some of them and the dosages: WATSON 853 10/325mgs V 36 01 10/325mgs WATSON 3228 10/750mgs 170 7.5/325mgs Do any of these match the markings on the tablet in question? As you can see, the dosages vary, so I can't tell you if the one you have is the strongest available, or not. It is, however, only available in a maximum of 10mgs of the Hydrocodone. which is the strongest pink hydrocone10mg or the blue 10mgs ? ## If they both contain 10mgs of Hydrocodone, then they are the same, the only difference may be in the amount of Acetaminophen in them, but I can't provide details on that from just the colors. My husband was on morphine 30 mg and the doctor put him on Norco 10/325. Which is the strongest pill for pain? ## Someone please correct me if I'm interpreting this wrong, but according to the following opioid dosing equivalency chart by umich.edu, two 10mg Norco (Hydrocodone) tablets are reportedly equal one 30mg Morphine tablet. I was at a party and my friend took some Vicodin and now she is throwing up and has stomach pains. She took 600 mg and I don't know what to do.....help! ## 600mg? So she took 120 pills? They are 5 mg each, the strongest is 10 mg. I would bet that someone gave her something else. Do you know what it looked like? ## I know this is an old post - I hope your friend is ok now. She must have taken Vicodin HP 660 mg Acetaminophen w/ 10 mg Hydrocodone. Anytime side effects like this arise it is considered critical that the affected person be rushed to the hospital. Such an adverse reaction could be fatal with Vicodin because it's a narcotic agent. Also, did your friend mix any alcohol or other drugs with the Vicodin?
