what are the red dots for? ## Hi greg, Based on my research, the red dots are just there as a design. They are not made of any active ingredient to enhance the medication. There are some pills with blue dots as well, it's just how the manufacturer decided to design the pills for brand identification. Do you have any more questions regarding this medication? If so, please post back! ## They are chemical marker that the DEA has forced pharmaceutical manufacturers to mix in to pills for tracking drug traffic. They will be in all narcotics soon but are primarily in hydrocodone, ambient and some ADHD meds. Different regions get slightly different colors so they can trace sources to the area and even pharmacy ie. Walmart, CVS, Walgreens. This is why there have been some shortages recently...

And tje child that just had the same Surgery done got the liquid Lortab but its red. Can someone PLEASE tell me if its tje samething? Maybe just a different manufacturer? ## Hello, Connie! How are you? The color and viscosity doesn't actually mean anything, that's entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacture, so they may all be different. Learn more Lortab details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. will hydrocodone cream thin the blood Yes or no ## Hydrocodone does not come in a cream. I believe you're talking about Hydrocortizone Cream. ## Hello, Mike! How are you? On top of what BL said, no Hydrocortisone in the cream is a topical steroid used to treat skin rashes and allergic reactions. And no, it should not cause blood thinning, because you usually don't absorb much of it. Side effects are usually limited to topical reactions, such as skin irritation and redness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have 2 different hydrocodone pills. The first one is hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5/325 mg & stamped M365 & was given for a hysterectomy. The 2nd bottle is hydrocodone/APAP 5/325 mg & stamped 360+ & was given for surgery, where they removed a kidney due to a benign mass. This pill has red specs on it. Wondering what, if any, difference there is. I called the pharmacy & they assured me that it was just a different manufacturer. Could you please clarify it for me? Thank you! ## Hello, Terry! How are you? Your pharmacy was correct, and to be more precise the one with the 360 on it actually contains a higher amount of Hydrocodone, the manufacturer Mallinckrodt lists it as containing 7.5mgs of it, coupled with the 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that this medication...

I had been taking a white colored hydrocodone but all of a sudden the pharmacy started giving me pink ones. At first I thought nothing of it but soon realized I was not getting the same results. I talked to my Dr thinking perhaps I needed one stronger but would let her know and watch it for awhile. This month I got the white pills again and after a week I realized these took care of my pain and lasted longer. My question is, what is the ingredient that makes them pink as I'm highly allergic to red dye and am thinking this could be the problem. ## Hello, Jacki! How are you? I am sorry about the problems you've experienced. What are the markings on them? I'm sorry, but a pill cannot be positively identified based on just the color. The FDA warns that Hydrocodone carries the ri...

15 mg hydrocone in red capsule with a crown marking csei ## Is that the entire marking? There is no 15mg Hydrocodone that's regularly available on the U.S. market. It is only available in the manufactured products in a maximum of 10mgs of the Hydrocodone coupled with various strengths of Acetaminophen. Learn more Vicodin details here. If it's a 15mg capsule, then it would have to have been specially ordered by a doctor and done by a compounding pharmacy and them, it wouldn't have a unique marking, it would just have whatever is on the capsules they use, if anything and it won't be listed in any databases because of that. Where was it found?

are Lortabs still in use? My pharmicist said they were no longer made. ## The FDA has asked dr to no longer prescribe it with 500 mg acetaminophen but instead to use the mandated reduced 325 mg acetaminophen. The FDA has also asked pharmacists to contact the drs if a rx is written for the 500 mg before filling it. The hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Lortab, Vicodin, Norco) are still made. But, the amount of acetaminophen has been reduced. ## So can you take a Tylenol to get the same results since they lowered it to 325? I'm so used to the 500 and it just isn't the same ## Talk to your dr first. The new recommendation from the FDA is not to exceed 3,000 mg of tylenol in a 24 hr period. ## It isn't that the FDA has asked them to no longer prescribe the higher amounts, they'...

Red capsule with no markings? Are they legit? ## Hello, Lizzie! How are you? It is very doubtful. Any manufactured prescription products in the U.S. are required to have unique markings to enable their identification. The only exception would be something done by a compounding pharmacy and they usually use plain capsules, since they are cheaper. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, what you have is most likely some type of over the counter product. Does anyone else know more about these?

i had 3 glasses of red wine what could hapened ## Alcohol can intensify the side effects, so you may experience worsening nausea, vomiting, dizziness and drowsiness. this site is not medical professionals, so you should ask a doctor or pharmacist to be certain. However, with most medications, it does not denote anything dangerous, unless you have severely been abusing the medication and the alcohol, together. In addition, the Ibuprofen with the alcohol also risks worse stomach irritation and possibly ulcers. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## What does the BT_IBU stand for AFTER hYDROCODONE? round tablet 0031 v ## white pill 0031 v ## 0031 V is NOT Hydrocodone, nor any type of narcotic, this contains nothing more than 500mgs of Acetaminophen, a generic or store brand of Extra Strength Tylenol. This is an over the counter pain reliever and fever reducer. Some common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness and stomach ulcers. You can read more about it here: Is there anything else I can help you with?

I'm a Disabled Army Combat Veteran and I've had, to no surprise, a slew of different types of hydocodone, but recently the pills I've been issued have red or blue spots in them. I was told by my doctor that the spotted pills absorb into your body faster and therefore begin working faster and last longer, is this fact or fiction? ## Fiction! They are all regular release tablets that will take 15 to 20 minutes to start working and the speckles in some of them make no difference to that. That's just something that the manufacturer decided to do to their tablets to set them apart from the others available on the market. Learn more Vicodin details here. Any such colors and speckles are entirely up to whit and whim and mean nothing whatsoever to the actual absorbency rate of t...

This last prescription I got were white tablets with little green specs - one side has the letter V and the other side has 3594. I have only taken solid white tablets in the past for Hydrocodone Pills ## Hi Sandra, The one's marked V 3594 are simply made by a different manufacturer than what most people are used to seeing. Oblong white pills definitely seem to be the most commonly prescribed versions, while there are yellow, blue, pink, orange and green tablets as well. I've also seen the white ones with red specs. Keep in mind though that these colors and/or shapes are always subject to change depending upon the discretion of the manufacturer. I hope this helps!

Dr switched me to Tylenol 4 from hydrocodone. It's making me itch with a rash. Why? ## Hello, Doug! How are you? With the itch, it is likely that you're having an allergic reaction and those just tend to get worse, with repeated exposure. Thus, you need to inform your doctor as this probably isn't a good medication for you to take. Other symptoms of an allergic reaction, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include dizziness, swelling and trouble breathing. Is there anything else I can help with?

I work in a surgical practice and today we were told by a pharmacy that this formulation is no longer available? We thought that a few years ago the FDA mandated that the level of Acetaminophen be reduced ## Yes, it was mandated that the amount of Acetaminophen in combination prescription medications be lowered to no more than 325mgs per dose, the FDA put this regulation in place a few years ago. But with just the 300mgs, the only one currently listed as still being available is 10/300mg. However, there is a 7.5/325mg dosage available. I had that happen a couple months ago, when my doctor prescribed it. I had to wait for the pharmacy to reach her and authorize the 325mg dosage, before I could pick up my prescription. This medication is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries t...

what mg is a semi-square tablet white with red specks? I think it is generic. ## Hello, Deedee! How are you? This tablet contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, it is a generic for Norco. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Your wrong the red specs r the 5/325 mg norcos ## V 3601 is a yellow 10/325 Norco ## Yes I have the red spec ones in a pill bottle, they are Norco 5/325. :)

I fell and hurt my knee. Now it is swollen. I believe it has fluid in it. Will a medication like hydrocodone help get the fluid out? ## Not, it is an opiate narcotic that is used to treat or prevent pain. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Have you consulted your doctor? You may need an anti-inflammatory to reduce the swelling and help with the pain. How bad is it hurting?

What is this pill? I was told it's Hydrocodone from Russia but I need confirmation. ## Hi mijaja, Any pill with no imprint could literally be anything from A to Z. I think your best bet in this type of scenario would be to have it analyzed by a lab or drug panel to at least verify the presence of opiates/etc... Did you get this pill from a pharmacy on the web or through some other means? If I had to guess I would agree with you that it's probably not of US origin, being that the FDA requires imprints on their prescription drugs. However, it doesn't rule out the possibility of something over-the-counter or foreign and for that reason alone I think you'll need a more trustworthy (or evidence-based) way to verify and measure its contents.

I was prescribed hydrocodone for a pinched nerve in my neck. I will have to take it awhile because my health insurance is insisting I undergo less invasive treatment before having the surgery my doctor recommends. Anyway, the first prescription I filled was for 5/325, an all white pill with an M marking. I was able to take those without problem. The second prescription I filled was white with red specks (same strength). About a half an hour after I took one of these pills, I started feeling ill. My heart was pounding and I had chest pains. Then I developed a mild case of hives. I notified my doctor and he switched me to oxycodone which was just too strong. I reported this and he rewrote for hydrocodone. I returned the oxycodone to the pharmacy as I had done with the white and red hydroc...
