How are you? Has it improved, yet? Irregular bleeding can occur for the first 3 months, or so, while your body is getting used to the hormones in an oral contraceptive, so yes, this can be normal. Hi my dr gave me meds to start my period because I ha surgery to have one of my Fallopian tubes removed and cysts removed and hadn't had a period since. Once I started bleeding I started taking ortho tri cyclen lo and that started 2 an a half weeks of heavy bleeding. So he switched me to lo estrin I've been on it for two weeks and I'm bleeding through 2 pads during the day and one at night I stopped the pill on my own because I got scared of all the bleeding. The problem is the bleeding hasn't stopped its actually getting worse. It's the weekend so I can't go to my dr till tomorrow at the earliest just wondering if anyone thinks I should do a catch up and go ahead and take the two pills I didn't take. I just want the bleeding to stop I want to have a regular ...

My period is on and I took femiane for 4 days then I stopped. Now my period has become worse. The bleeding is very heavy and I'm having a lot of clots. I'm changing pads about every 2 hours. Would do I do? I'm very scared. ## Hello, Bubbles! How are you? Has there been any change? Why did you only take it for 4 days? That likely threw off your natural hormone levels and it may take a few months for things to return to normal. Other effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, and PMS-like symptoms, according to the U.S. FDA.

Hi. my periods are regular but for short span of time. it only last for 2or 3 days. first day is heavy bleeding and 2 day is quite less. I am worried. I am normal. I need a pill so that I can atleast my periods till 5 days. please hell me??? ## Hello, Honey! How are you? There is no reason to worry, not every woman gets a 5 day period and that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong. Some women get very short ones of only about 3 days, like yours and some women have one that last up to 10 days and all are considered normal. You shouldn't worry unless yours suddenly changes, either it gets longer, or you stop having one, or the bleeding is heavier or lighter than usual. If you're worried, you should consult a doctor, but the length of your period has no bearing on your f...

Hi, I had been having very heavy menstrual bleeding for the last 2 months (Dec/Jan) so my dr. prescribed me norethindrone 5mg to take the first day of my period and to take it everyday. I also have the paragard copper IUD (which is partly the reason for the heavy bleeding). I got my period on Feb. 1st and started taking the norethindrone that day and I have been bleeding every day since then (now Feb. 16th). It started out light and it has gotten heavier the longer I have been on it. It is to the point where I am heavier now with the medicine than without. I am calling my doctor tomorrow but he has been out of the office for the last 4 days. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just stop taking it? What happens if I stop taking it? I started getting night sweats the first day I to...

I want to know how many more cycles i can take these tablets for? ## Hello, Jnf! How are you? What is causing the heavy bleeding? How old are you? Do you also suffer cramps and PMS symptoms? In many cases, this is caused by a hormonal imbalance and using something such as oral contraceptive for a few months can help. I have been on Minsatrin 24 fe for about three months now (before that I was on loestrin and then got put on gildis (Or whatever that off brand is. I can never remember how to spell it) so I've been on birth control since 2011) bc no one told me I could get minastrin for the same price as loestrin. Anyways, I got really sick last night and woke up with blood consistent with a period (with even a little clotting). I'm only on the second row of white pills and I've never had this happen before. Has this happened to anyone else or what is this? ## Hi Rikuya! It is normal 2 have break through bleeding, while on the birth control. Took plan b twice about 2 months ago.. I got my period a month after for about a week then after 2 weeks I got heavy bleeding. I've been researching about it and I've seen that it's possibly not my period. It's hormonal bleeding ? Anyways, I went to to see a doctor 2 weeks later because I was still bleeding heavily. He prescribed birth control pills to get everything back on track. I am now on my 2nd week of taking the pills, however I'm still bleeding. Although not heavily, I'm still so worried. And the bc pills have affected my body so much; headaches and I get tired very easily. I also have hyperthyroidism, not sure if that affects anything ? And is still on medication. Please help me. Use trexamin yet no changing. ## Hello, Florence! How are you? Have you returned to your doctor? It is always possible for fibroids to recur, so you may have developed another one, or even several. Are you still bleeding? How heavy is it? Are you on any other medications? The FDA lists the typical side effects for Trexamin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, pale skin, anxiety and fainting.

I have been on this birth control first time only because of a pilgrimage. However I missed my pill number 6 blue pill in week 1 and realized around 18 hours later and took two pills that day however I m bleeding heavily. Is this normal and also for how long will this bleeding last? I also was going slightly up and down on my time to take the pill however will get more consistent. I just want to ensure no periods after 2 months. As exactly that's when I go for 1 week. Any insight will be appreciated. ## These are hormonal based contraceptives, so yes, menstrual irregularities can be normal for the first 3 months, especially when you miss pills or take them more then 12 hours late. I've been on Lo Lostrin for about 5 months. I take the pill at the same time everyday. I've been heavily bleeding for 3 days now. I called my Gyno & she never called back. I don't use any other protectionbesides this. Im having bad cramps in my lower back and stomach and also in my lower area. Should i be concerned? Need help, fast. ## Hello, Kayla! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. This is a hormonal contraceptive, so it can cause some unexpected breakthrough bleeding, though it is unusual for it to be happening this many months along. Has your doctor returned your call, yet? One option they may have you try is stopping it for a few days, to see if the bleeding slows and stops, but that would also mean you'd have to use some other for...

Bleeding-out is a slight possibility if you take ramucirumab. Do we know if there was anything in the profiles of those who bled-out that we can discern whether we will likely bleed-out? Was bleeding up front, or anytime during the time they took the drug? Was bleeding-out an "all at once" thing, or was it spread out? Can you likely be saved by the emergency room procedures? ## Hello, Ron! How are you? No, there is nothing that's been found to pinpoint anyone being more susceptible to bleeding out than anyone else. Bleeding out is actually considered to be sudden, heavy bleeding that can result in death within a very short period of time. If the person is bleeding more gradually over a 'spread out' period of time, there is a chance of combatting it by having them sto...

How are you? Has there been any change? Yes, that can happen after taking a progesterone supplement. Was it prescribed by your doctor? i have had my Jadelle for about 2 yrs now and have had horrible periods since the first time it got put in.. they are so heavy and clotty its almost like my placenta is tearing away. ## Sorry about the problems you're having. Jadelle contains a synthetic form of Progesterone and it can cause those types of side effects in some people that use it. Generally, it's because it has stopped your body from producing enough natural progesterone. Have you consulted your doctor? It just might not be the right contraceptive for you to use. ## I have had the same issues on and off :( Mine has been in about a year and im getting it removed in the next couple of weeks.
