Accutane - long term low dose regime
5 Replies RSS
Has anyone been on accutane for a long term low dose regime? I read that some people have take only 20-40mg/wk for like 20 years for psoriasis, eczema, and other skin diseases but not for acne. I think I even read someone using ultra low dose regime for oil control. I am considering this treatment. This regime is more common in Europe from what I read. ## What has your doctor advised? Accutane is very hard to get and use, in the U.S. and there is a very good reason for that. This medication contains the active ingredient Isotretinoin and it has been shown to be a severe Teratogen, so it can cause severe birth defects to any future children you may have. I want to know if I can give my 11 year-old daughter who is 76-78 lbs. a Hydrocodone APAP 5mg 500 mg because she broke her thumb (doctor put a splint on) and it is throbbing. Doc just told us give her Ibuprofin but that's not helping so much tonight. Thank you ## Have you tried asking her doctor? The Hydrocodone is a narcotic, so I wouldn't suggest giving it to any child, unless a doctor has specifically instructed you to do so. ## I would not suggest giving your daughter hydrocodone 5/500 the Tylenol dose for her weight is to much . I would agree with your doctor according to her weight she should take 3.5 tsp of children's Motrin. The reason for having pain at nighties she is most likely not elevating her hand on a pillow.
