Dr presecibed me hydrocodone325mg-5 for my back pain I was in a car accident a lot of pain never took these pills before I did just fine however I got surgery and was prescribed percocet 325mg-5and I got very sick..throwing up dizzy light headed etc Just wanted to know is there a huge difference??and /or side effects maybe was it due to just having surgery or do u think it was the pill itself being different could of caused it? ## Hello, Marie! How are you? They are different medications. Percocet contains Oxycodone with Acetaminophen, while what you've currently been prescribed contains Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen. However, dizziness, nausea and vomiting can be side effects of all narcotic opiates, so you may still experience such symptoms with this one, as well. There is also a...

I have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 for 8 or 9 years. And now my doctor wants to put me on oxycontin. I have never taken any before and he did not say what strength. What are the dosages??? Is it any better than the hydrocodone 10-325??? ## Hello, Tazman57! How are you? Oxycontin is a time released formulation of Oxycodone, the medication is slowly released over a 12 hour period. It is stronger than Hydrocodone, you only need 6.67mgs of Oxycodone to equal each 10mgs of Hydrocodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It's available in varying doses starting at 10mgs and going all the way up to 160mgs. Is there anything e...

What are the differences between those two? Which one is stronger? M367 or v3601? I know they have the same 10/325 dosage but surely there must be a difference of some sort? If anyone knows, please share your knowledge with me. Thanks. ## Hi Ego, Although both of the pills in question are one in the same drug, the first difference I noticed is that they are manufactured by different companies. Because of this, there may be a slight variation of inactive ingredients; which does have an affect on the bio-availability (absorption) of the medication itself. Both of these are also generic medications. Generic medications are permitted by the FDA to contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredients. This factor, along with different inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) could e...

my Dr has changed my medication fron norco to percocet, and now my feet and ankles are swelling severely. What is the difference between hydrocodone and oxycodone? ## They are both narcotic analgesics, however, the Oxycodone is stronger than they Hydrocodone. Oxycodone, by itself, doesn't usually cause peripheral edema, however, it could be the Acetaminophen, since it can sometimes cause people to retain fluids and, if that is what is causing it, it would have also happened with the Norco. Have you consulted your doctor? Whenever edema occurs, it is very important to discover what is causing it, since it can be a sign of other serious medical conditions. Even swelling of the feet and legs can be a sign of congestive heart failure. ## This isn't listed as a common side effect in ...

hydrocodone 10/500 and hydrocodone 10/325, what is the difference? ## The 10/325 contains 10mgs of the narcotic Hydrocodone, coupled with 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The 10/500 contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone coupled with 500mgs of Acetaminophen. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Do you have any other questions? ## Would hydrodo/apap10-325 be stronger than hydroco/apap10-500 since there is less tylenol. So you would be getting the hydroco with less buffer ## Yes - that is exactly right. I have read that some meds in combination - like Tylenol & hydrocodone work better than just the stronger pain med. -hydrocodone alone. If your hydro. has 325 Tylenol now? Buy a bottle of low strength Tylenol & take one to see if it make a diffe...

I read that the yellow norcos have dye and the white norcos don't. One is fat soluble and the other is water soluble. What's the difference? ## What pharm in chandler az still carries the white 7.5 hydrocodene ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Are you asking about the ones that were yellow, but are now white? If so, then the only difference is the removal of the dye, nothing else. Nik, I saw your other post and I'm sorry, but the ones with the higher amounts of Acetaminophen in them are no longer being manufactured, so you can't obtain them, anywhere. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## YOU ARE WRONG V...

When I take the yellow Norco 10-325, I usually wait about 30 minutes till they take affect and most often feel somewhat energized and a bit more relaxed. When I take the P110 10-325 hydrocodone, I feel lethargic and often drowsy and sad. Why is there such a difference? ## Well, there can be some fluctuation in the amount of the active ingredients when go from a name brand, such as Norco, to a generic, like the one with the IP 110 marking. Hydrocodone is a narcotic and you may actually be getting a little more of it in the generic one, so that may be why you feel more lethargic and drowsy when you take it. Learn more Norco details here. If it's that problematic, you could try asking your doctor to prescribe it as brand medically necessary, to avoid the problem. Are there any other qu...

I can now only get hydrocodone IP119 10/500 in the state where i live and i would like to know the difference between that and the blue lortab, which is what i am used to ## The tablet marked IP 119 contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a generic for Lortab, which is a narcotic pain reliever. However, there is no blue name brand Lortab, so I can't tell you anything about the other tablet from just the color. Do you know who the manufacturer is, or the markings that were on them? ## Actually, the IP 119 is a hydrocodone and ibuprofen combination. The lortab will contain acetaminophen INSTEAD OF ibuprofen. Both are narcotic analgesics known as hydrocodone. ## No, even if you do a Google search, you will see that my post was correct and the tablet marked IP 1...

please tell me the differenc between these 2 drugs. ## Though the difference is rather irrelevant now in most countries, I'll still cover the basics, since someone else may be curious. The Propoxyphene with Acetaminophen was a generic for Darvocet, it was a very mild narcotic pain reliever. Learn more Darvocet details here. The Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a much more potent narcotic pain reliever that's often better known by the brand names Vicodin, Norco and Lortab. Both risk being habit forming and have similar side effect profiles that may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Lortab details here. What is the difference between hydrocodone 7.5-500 tabs qual and hydrocodone 7.5-500 tabs wats? Dr. gave me the 2nd one today, and wondering what the difference is. ## Hi Danielle, Both of the pills in question are one in the same drug. The only difference I noticed is that they are manufactured by different companies. Because of this, there may be a slight variation of inactive ingredients; but other than that you can be assured that they are the same drug and same dosage. Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may respond favorably with one medication and not the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effect...

Been taking Mallinckrodt 7.5 mg/325 mg ACETA Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetamininophen color white, for quite awhile due to back pain untreatable by surgery. Just switched pharmacies due to retirement. The new pills are by a company called Qualitest 7.5 mg/325 mg APAP color peach. To be tested to see if they are what they are suppose to be, where would I go for that? ## They both contain the same active ingredients, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, APAP is just medical speak for the Acetaminophen. The pharmacy dispenses the drug from at least three different manufacturers in differing forms of tablets. Are there studies or reports comparing the pharmacokinetics or quality control results for the tablets? ## No, there are no reports to be found to give you those precise details, but yes there can be differences from one generic manufacturer to the next. They can actually differ in the amount of the amount of the active ingredients by as much as plus or minus 20% measured against the original name brand. Learn more Vicodin details here. What is the difference between Hydocodone 7.5 325 and Norco? I understand Norco has a lesser strength. Both are generic for Vicodin so why would a doctor change it from Hydrocodone to Norco if its exactly the same thing? I get a different result from Norco but not Hydrocodone. Why is that? I can't take Norco. I have chronic pain. Why would a doctor change it to Norco if it's the exact the same thing. Can you explain this to me please? Thank you kindly ## Hi Rosee, Just to confirm, Hydrocodone 7.5/325 ALSO CONTAINS "ACETAMINOPHEN". That's where the 325mg comes into play on the label. So to be clear, it contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone + 325mgs of Acetaminophen. A few other pointers I want to touch on in response to some statements made in your post: - Norco is simply a ...

What is the difference between Hydrocodone/apap 10mg/500 and Hydrocodone/apap 350/500, and Hydrocodone/apap 7.5/500? Could you explain the difference in these 3? ## There is no dosage available containing 350/500, that would be a very dangerous dosage of the Hydrocodone. The maximum dosage that is currently available in the U.S. contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Past that the doses are lower, 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone/ 325 Acetaminophen, and 5mgs of Hydrocodone with 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Which one has your doctor prescribed for you?

Just started using hydrocodone apap tab5mg-325. This first dose I took is 2 pills at 12 noon. The bottle instructions say you can take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. It is now 3:15 pm and it feels like the hydro pills, made by Amneal are just about finished. The pills I have been taking prior to this are oxycodone, Mallinckrodt, acetaminophen 5-325 and I take 1 pill every 6 hours. This is OXY condone, NOT HYDRO codone made by Amneal. Are they different strengths? The HYDRO seems weaker. Whats the difference between the two? And should they be interchangeable? ## It does require 7.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to be equal to the 5mg Oxycodone you were taking, because the Oxycodone is stronger. However, it may simply be that the Hydrocodone just doesn't work for you. Learn more Vicodin ...
