I have MS and my doctor gave me this, is this the best medicine? It doesn't seem to be working, It just helps me rest. ## Hello, Keekee! How are you? There is no one best medicine, what works can vary from person to person. The tablet in question is manufactured by Par Pharmaceutical and they list it as containing 4mgs of Tizanidine, which is a muscle relaxant that can help with the pain associated with strains, sprains and spasms. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. If it isn't working, you should discuss it with them to see what else you can try. Is there anything else I can help with?

Spasmo proxyvon is a medically proved drug. Is there a substitute available? ## Spasmo-Proxyvon contains the active ingredient dicycloverine hydrochloride (also known as dicyclomine). Dicyclomine is used to treat the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, and is in a class of medications called anticholinergics. It is supposed to relieve muscle spasms in the gastrointestinal tract by blocking the activity of a certain natural substance in the body. As far as finding a substitute goes, it would probably be best to look for something within the same drug class of anticholinergics. This way you can at least be sure that the medication is working in a similar fashion. However not all anticholinergics are created equally, so I would always recommend talking with your doctor first about the mo...

I have old pills Exp date 2013 are they still good can't afford to go back to te doc ## Hello, BB! How are you? These tablets contain 10mgs of Cyclobenzaprine, which is a muscle relaxant that's used to alleviate the pain associated with strains, sprains and spasms. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. They don't get dangerous, when expired, but they do begin to lose effectiveness with time, so they will no longer work as well as they did, when they were new. It would be best to just dispose of these and see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have severe muscle spasms in my upper back, by, and below my shoulder blade. It hurts to the touch. Which one of these medications (neurobion / methylcobalamin) is best to have? ## Neither one of these are actual medications, they are both just dietary supplements of vitamin B formulations, so there is no guarantee that either one will help. The FDA warns that they may cause nausea, and diarrhea, due to their potency. Have you checked with a doctor? Do you know what's causing the pain, and spasms? Are you on any other medications?

Is Bella Phenobarb Tab Good For Nausea and vomiting ## Belladonna Alkaloid + Phenobarbital is usually used to treat grastro-intestinal disorders (such as cramping and spasms of the stomach and intestines). It may also be used as an anticonvulsant and to decrease the amount of acid formed in the stomach, but I haven't found any specific details regarding its use for nausea and vomiting. Have you considered looking into any natural alternatives to treat these symptoms? ## Yes! Donnatal is excellent for nausea! Best thing!

Hi I just been given linzess 290 for everyday. I suffer with tons of gas and constipation and bloating all the time.and it worked great the first few days of taking it however I noticed when I took it I had uncomtorble spasms in my lower belly so my doctor recommended to take it every other day. Do you think I should switch to the lower dose? I'm scared I won't have a BM and I'll have gas the days I don't take the 290 dose. ## It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions and the only way to know how it will work for you is by trying it. Some people have been doing quite well taking it every other day. The stomach cramping and spasms can be normal side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports. I've been experiencing severe pain on the entire left side of my mouth, specifically intensifying around the bottom back tooth on the left side. I'm curious if anyone has tried using Tizanidine for managing tooth pain and would appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice on this approach? ## Hello, Tissua! Tizanidine is in a class of medications called skeletal muscle relaxants and is used to treat the types of pain associated with strains, sprains and spasms. It works by slowing action in the brain and nervous system to allow the muscles to relax. That said, Tizanidine is not indicated for use in managing pain related to toothaches. Ref: MedlinePlus It would probably be best to see your dentist for an appropriate medication and treatment to help alleviate the root c...

First off, I took the prescribed dose and it literally did nothing. I do suffer from muscle spasms and it didn't even help that. But the crazy thing is I'm on Valium and was asking my doctor to switch back to xanax since I was previously on that and the Valium just isn't working anymore. He then writes me for Zanaflex instead! I need a new doctor in the Phoenix area... I can't deal with this constant trial and error of meds paying out of pocket for crap medications when I know what works best for me. I've been dealing with this for over 10 years. I'm also on suboxone for pain management so it's hard to even find a dr who will write a benzo with that... but I suffer debilitating panic attacks and I have a 6 month old baby. I told him the Valium isn't worki...

Is valuim used as a muscle relaxer? I have tryed many muscle relaxers I also have panic disorder but was taken off Klonopin abruptly could valium be used to relax muscles and relieve the anxiety as well? ## Valium is used as a muscle relaxer, to prevent seizures, the treatment of anxiety and other issues. Talk to your psychistrist about takiing the valium for anxiety and your regular dr about taking it for the muscle spasms. I seriously doubt that both drs will give you a prescription for valium. If they can consult with each other about your case, they may agree that valium is best for the treatment of both of your issues and hopefully they can decide which one of them will prescribe it. ## Thank you for agreeing that valuim is used for treatment for muscle spasms. ## Cindy, the Physic...

I'm having bad back spasms! I am currently on Humira and have taken my 15 mg meloxicam with no relief. Ice helps somewhat. Can I take a Tylenol-3 (with codeine)? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check. Have they all been prescribed for you? The FDA warns that Codeine carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications? ## I have severe hip and leg pain and I am on regular meds for other things too. I took Tylenol #3 and Meloxicam and the regular meds. I have been taking Flexeril for about 10 years and my doctor gave me Baclofen. Which is better? ## There isn't really any muscle relaxant that is better than another, it depends on which one works best for you, Have you tried taking the Baclofen, yet? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. ## What exactly does Baclofen do? Does Baclofen help to decrease the number of muscle spasms you experience? And does it also decrease the intensity of muscle spasms?

I am using asthalin 4 mg for the past 10 years when there is need for that (i.e. whenever i am suffering from wheezing problem). For the past 2 weeks i am taking the asthalin. I am facing continuous knee/joint pain in my legs. Is it due to overdosage or could be any other reason. Pls. clarify. ## Have you consulted your doctor? They'd be best able to advise you on what's causing the problem. Asthalin contains the active ingredient Salbutamol, it is most commonly used to treat asthma. It can cause some muscle pain and spasms as a side effect, however, there is no way anyone can say that it is definitely causing the problem, from just a short post in the internet. I have an old pms-cyclobenzaprine prescription that I kept in the event I had back spasms again. So today I do and want to know how effective my 7 year old prescription will be. ## While most medications do not become dangerous past their expiration date, they do lose effectiveness over time. Thus, one that's 7 years old is not likely to have much effectiveness left, if any. Your best bet would be to see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?
