Is Cipro an antibiotic given for an Upper Resp. Infection? I ## Hi Cheri, The answer to your question is "yes", Ciprofloxacin can be used to treat a number of infections including: Upper and Lower respiratory tract infections (although it is not recommended as a first-line antibiotic choice for either of them). I would actually consider discussing with your doctor and/or pharmacy whether or not they think you should be using some other antibiotic (depending on how severe the infection is). The reason being, is that if you don't use the most effective antibiotic for your infection, then the bacteria can build a resistance to what you may be using; possibly rendering the treatment useless in the end. So yeah, I think it really depends on how severe your infection really is. If...

Hi - Have really been down and out since Memorial day weekend. Though it was the flu - chills, fever, headache and body aches!! I was in bed 4 days before I started feeling a little better. Tried to return to somewhat normal activites as a middle school teacher. Never felt even 50 % back to normal and fever returned, some chills, low energy, sore throat, hoarse voice and worst cough I have ever had. Went to Dr.(Kasier) said probably upper respiratoy infect. Can flagyl be used for an upper respiratory infection? ## Hello, Jannette! How are you? Was it prescribed by your doctor to treat it? This generally isn't the preferred medication for such infections, because most of them are viral and self-limiting. However, in some cases, they may be bacterial and could require an antibiotic and/or a steroid, which may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness and diarrhea, as reported by the FDA.

I would like to know if Zoxan 500 is used to treat blood infection. If so, for what level of infgection it is used. Mild, average or serious? ## Ciprofloxacin is reported to be the active ingredient in Zoxan. Ciprofloxacin is used to treat a number of infections including: infections of bones and joints, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, malignant otitis externa, respiratory tract infections, cellulitis, urinary tract infections, prostatitis, anthrax, chancroid, among others. The term "among others" is very vague, so I think it best to contact your doctor to confirm its use for blood infection. I personally couldn't find any info relating it to that treatment, but your local doctor or pharmacy should be able to clarify that for you.

I feel like I might have an upper respiratory infection will these pills help with my two week congested chest? ## Hello, AuntBebe! How are you? Amoxicillin is a broad spectrum antibiotic, so it can treat many types of bacterial infections. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, it will only treat an infection, so you shouldn't take it, unless your doctor has confirmed that you have one and an antibiotic is necessary. Taking it inappropriately creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, which is also true if you don't have enough to complete a full course of treatment. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can I use any type of antibiotics to cure a chest infection

I've taken Elmiron since 2012. Honestly, I found that I had bacterial infections that were not found by a normal lab. I used PathOGenius, in Lubbock TX. Molecular testing is the only way to identify these Biofilms. If you have a toe fungus, a sore, a upper respiratory infection that just wont go away, get in touch with PathOGenius or Granger Labs. My urine was sent to them and it took around 3 weeks to get all results back. Believe me, I am so much better! I was house bound before. ## I'm interested in your case.
