Oxycodones are the best and worst things. They bring love and they bring hate. They saw me through the best times and gave the very worst. The ups and downs follow. But no matter how much i hate them I love them ten times more. And that's the problem. I think I might be dependent. Anyone else? ## If you think that is addiction you best never take methadone. The oxy is min. compared to some others. Never ever take any pain meds for a duration, or addict or not, your body will respond by dependence. Yesterday I picked up a 20 day supply of oxycontin 30 mg. It was a 20 day script. At 2 a day my px was for 60. I was HORRIFIED when the pharmacist billed me for 325.00, including my insurance discount. They claimed there is not a generic oxycontin. Oxycodone 30 mg was $15 for 60...so needless to say I was shocked!!! Is there an equivalent slow release to replace 30 mg of oxycontin? There has got to be something. I have a blue round pill that has an R on the top and 215 on the bottom. I cannot remember if it is my Oxycontin or the generic for it. This tablet does contain 30mgs of Oxycodone, but it is not time released, it is a regular release formulation, which would be a generic for Roxicodone. How Long Does It Take To Kick in? ## Hi Crps sucks, it shouldn't take any longer than 15-30 minutes. Unless u have a tolerance 2 them. Then it could take a little longer. Have u taken them b 4? Or on a regular basis? ## From what I've read online, 15 to 30 minutes is a good rough estimate... Although timing can also vary some depending on your own body, as well as if you've recently eaten something. I'd also like to add that the maximum/peak concentration of oxycontin is generally found in the bloodstream at about one hour after ingestion. Keeping in mind that this is a time-released formula, it probably won't have much of an immediate effect like the standard oxycodone would, if you're used to having those. I hope this helps! this is in reply to all who are complaining to the new oxycontin 80 OP. I have been takeing them for 2 years now. My last scrip is still the OC. I pray they are pulled before we get them here. There are other meds we all can go to such as the fent. Patch which comes in a lolly pop too. I bet they will be pulled & back to the old ones before the year is out ## Pharmacies are allowed to continue to dispense the original product, until their stocks runs out, then all will only be able to get the new Oxycontin OP.
