Dosage Conversion chart for Roxicodone immediate release from extended release ## Hello, Cappy! How are you? There is no conversion chart, since you're talking about the same medication, Oxycodone. One is just a slow release and one isn't, so the regular release is taken more frequently, with the dose split up throughout the day. The dose for the extended release is just split in half and taken twice a day. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I was recently prescribed oxycodone IMM REL for my severe back pain and I wanted to know what is the difference between the regular oxycodone and the one I have now....please esplain if its addicted...reply thanks ## All Oxycodone has addictive potential, it doesn't matter what release type it is. What is the difference between tramadol hcl 50 mg and oxycodone 30 mg tablets ## Tramadol is a centrally acting analgesic of the opioid class, but it is not classified as a narcotic. It really doesn't work as well as the actual narcotics do, for some people. Oxycodone is an actual narcotic and is much stronger and more effective for a lot of people. Since they do share similar characteristics, the side effects that they both can cause are very similar and can include: nausea, dizziness, constipation and drowsiness. Are there any other questions?

I have a question for a family member who is taking a white r p 20 pill it says oxycodone 20mg but they weren't sure what release form it was. And it being the weekend the Drs office is closed does anyone know exactly so I can inform my family member. ## Yes, that is a regular release formulation, so after taking it, it should start working in about 15 to 20 minutes. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is there codein in Oxycodone?? ## No! The active ingredient in Oxycodone is Oxycodone. It is a narcotic, however, it can cause reactions in people who are allergic to Codeine. ## oxycodone is a opiod pain reliever made of thesbian and codien which come or made out of the root of the poppy plant and man made compounds similiar to herion variety. PS I'm not the worlds greatest speller , but I took this out of the PDR,R.M. , NJ ## Oxycodone has nothing to do with codeine. It is actually derived from morphine. Codeine is an anti-tussive and has very little analgesic effects. ## ray. i have ben taking oxycodone for 10yrs i have bad back pine i dont like tham but want can do i do. ## Has anybody heard of oxycodein, is it the same as oxycodone? What strenth are they? ## 10mg ## I believe they are 10 mgs. I've been taking them for 5 years now but when I got my perscription filled this time I got round tablets other than the oblong ones. I am searching for a comparible drug to the Oxycodone? Due to national shortage I cannot get the Oxycodone. But I need something to replace it without Tylenol. ## I'm not sure how comparable these two drugs are to Oxycodone, as I have never taken them. But to help answer your question, Dilaudid (hydromorphone) as well as Demerol (meperidine) are also narcotic pain relievers used to treat moderate to severe pain. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Dilaudid Details and Demerol (meperidine) Details Maybe you could ask your doctor about either of these options as potential candidates for replacing Oxycodone. Hope this helps! ## There are other options, but it may be difficult to locate any of them in stock in a pharmacy. However, a couple you can discuss with your doctor...

Is there purple oxycodone? Op on one side 15 on the other? I found one in my sons room but did not know if it is in fact oxy because of the color ## Hello, Gina! How are you? Purdue Pharma lists this tablet as being gray, which could be perceived as purple by some people. But it is a light color, so if it's dark purple, then it doesn't match. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Why do they recommend you see a dentist while taking Oxy? What is the negative side effect on your teeth or gums? Is there something you can do on your own without involving a dentist? Thanks ## Oxycodone, being a narcotic opiate, can cause severe dry mouth, which allows bacteria that your saliva would normally wash away to remain on the teeth and promote much faster plaque and decay than normal. Additionally, narcotics tend to leech minerals out of your body, one of which is calcium, so your teeth can become weaker. Thus, when you are taking them for a long period of time, you should see your dentist regularly, so they can head off any problems early. Are there any other questions or comments?

My mom recently passed for what the coroner said was mixed drug toxcitity. Her Oxycodone level was 3.4mg/L they said it should have been between 0.02 and 0.1. It is possible that my mom could have deliberately OD as she was in a lot of pain and depressed. However, I have heard about build up of oxycodone in the system over a period of time. With older bodies they aren’t able to metabolize the morphine? I’m trying to find some answers and would appreciate any insight.
