On and off antidepressants for 20 some odd years. Some work better than others. The last one I was prescribed was Cymbalta a new one for depression and it just didn't seem show any improvement on my fatigue or my get up. Today I started on Oxazepam, does anyone know anything about that? New and needing help ## Oxazepam is a benzodiazepine that is most commonly used to treat anxiety, and for its sedative like effects. I am perscribed 50mgs of trmadol 3xdaily and 15mg of oxazepam what kind of feeling will I get? ## Hello, Sassyfrassy! How are you? Both of these medications tend to cause sedation, so combining them may intensify that effect and you may end up feeling very tired, dizzy and drowsy. It would be best not to drive or operate machinery, until you know how they actually affect you. They both also carry the risk of being habit forming and you may experience side effects, such as nausea, dry mouth, irritability and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My Rheumatologist says that it is unnecessary to withdraw from Oxazepam 15mg. (see above Topic for dosage) and merely substitute with a lesser dosage of Difucan (10mg. @ 4-6 hours daily) as they are "the same drug"! I have been taking this Oxazepam dosage for 25 years+. Now I am following his instructions and having major withdrawal miserable symptoms. Any suggestions? ## There is no medication called Difucan, the closest is Diflucan and, if that's what you have, then I don't think you're taking the right medication, because it is an antifungal medication. Learn more Diflucan details here. I think you may want to double check everything, because the medication she intended to prescribe for you may have been Diazepam, which would be an equivalent medication. Learn mor...

Is it safe to take 100 mg trazodone with 40 mg oxazepam for sleep? ## Has your doctor instructed you to do so? Taking them together can increase the risk of depression of the central nervous system, which may cause shallow breathing, lowered heart rate and lowered blood pressure. It doesn't mean they can't be used together, but it should only be done under a doctor's approval and supervision. Learn more: ## NO. I take the trazodone to help me sleep. What are the drugs diazepam breaks down into? What is the dosage the doctors fear will be addicting? ## Hi Sarah, From what I could gather, the main active metabolite of diazepam is known as "Desmethyldiazepam" (which is also commonly referred to as Nordazepam or Nordiazepam). The other remaining active metabolites are "Temazepam" and "Oxazepam". Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18618924 As far as "what dosage a doctor might be fearing for addiction", that is something that could vary from doctor to doctor based on their own individual discretion towards these types of drugs. However, some patient reviews I've come across suggest that just the act of taking diazepam daily can bring about its addictive habits, whereas increasing the duration of time in-bet...

what relationship is this medication to the valumn family? ## Same family - benzodiazepines. Available in 10, 15, 30 & 50mg tablets, its onset of action is very slow, so no good for acute panic attack. Best for those would be diazepam and alprazolam, bromazepam, lorazepam and nordazepam, which are all very fast-acting, I find 2/3mg alprazolam fastest. However, if you're not using bromazepam, then my advice is to do what I do, which is take 3mg alprazolam to deal with the immediate symptoms, and at the same time or 10 mins later, take TWO Seresta Forte or other 50mg strength oxazepam. It gives you several hours of calm, not brutally sedating like diazepam, more like the smooth feeling of a couple of 12mg Lexotanil or Lexilium tablets, to help, when it begins to be felt about 45 m...

Mallinckrodt hydrocodone/apap pills several years ago changed. This sounds like a similar thing to what used to be the caplet (large) shaped pills; M 0367 is now the M367 10/325mg tablet. I believe that they all changed to the same size and shape, dropping initial '0'. Some codes went out of use, most changed inbthe way described, but this tablet, if one og those, is unlikely to be of use, those things having changed well over 15 years ago. Advice; email Covidien. When in doubt... I did the same with Aspen re: Pax diazepam and Purata oxazepam, recently changed, and received courteous reply reassuring me within 48 hours.
