I was taking opium for the last 2 years at a heavy dose and now I stopped opium by taking cizdol n 2.0mg, four tablets a day. How can I stop taking this tablet easily and how long should I take this tablet for? Also, what are the side effects of this tablet? ## This medication also carries the risk of being habit forming, according to the NIH, so it is best to taper it slowly, under your doctor's supervision, and you should only do so, when they deem it safe. Other side effects, as listed by the U.S. FDA may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. How long have you been taking it? ## I have been taking 2 tablets a day for the last 2 months. Will this have adverse effects on my body if I continue? ## I want to know what Cizdol-N tablets are used for...

Laudanum is a tincture of opium containing approximately 10% powdered opium by weight (the equivalent of 1% morphine).[1] Laudanum is prepared by dissolving extracts from the opium poppy (Papaver somniferum Linnaeus) in alcohol (ethanol). Reddish-brown and extremely bitter, laudanum contains several opium alkaloids, including morphine and codeine. Laudanum was historically used to treat a variety of conditions, but its principal use was as a pain medication and cough suppressa...

I had my colon removed and now have a J-pouch. My stool is almost always runny and I take bulk laxative along with bentyl and imodium. During the day there is no problem but nights I set my alarm clock every 2 hours so I don' mess myself or the bed. Would the Tenture of opium help at night and is it addictive? I am a diabetic on an insulin pump. ## What has your doctor advised? Opium tinctures can be addictive and cause serious side effects, so they should never be used without your doctor's approval. ## I was in the same situation as you, and have a J-pouch as well. I took Tincture of Opium for about 7 years. It does help at night time, slightly. There will still be issues, but it's main benefit I experienced was the fact that I would actually sleep, rather than constantly ...

Don't laugh! Wild lettuce is being touted as an actual pain reliever. Anyone hear of this? Anyone tried this? Some are putting it on par with Kratom. I actually bought some from a good company (swanson) but no pain relief. Both liquid and capsule were ineffective, but I'd be willing to try another brand if someone can verify it is even a little efficacious. Though I suspect it has contributed to relaxation allowing me to at least get a more restful sleep. Not sure if it is any more helpful than melatonin, or chamomile tea, lol. On the other hand, I suspect it may have contributed to extending the pain relief I get from the oxycodone I use. I will freely admit that this could be just wishful thinking. It may be a substance that the benefit is not realized until there is an establ...

Where can I find Paregoric or another name fir it is Tincture of Opium please let me know due to chrohns and colitics disease. Thanks ## Hello, Katie! How are you? I'm sorry, but this is no longer available. Opium as a medication was actually never approved by the FDA and has been removed from the market. Have you consulted your doctor to see what other alternatives you can try? ## I realize its been awhile since this thread was written, but I've seen this "fact" in other forums as well, and feel compelled to respond. Tincture of Opium is still prescribed and is still available. I just filled a new prescription yesterday at the Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN, prescribed by a gastroenterologist there.

As a child my mother used to give me 10 drops to control stomach upsets. Now as an adult I take it for uncontrolled diarrhea due to surviving colorrhectal cancer and stool incontinence. I cannot find it anywhere. I used to buy it in Florida and a pharmacy in Canada does not supply it. Please help. ## I am prescribed Tincture of Opium and you definitely can't walk in with a script and leave with your Meds. But any legit Drugstore can order it, I had a little trouble at first because it took 5-6 days to come in but once I notified the pharmacist I was going to need it filled monthly, he ordered it every month so it was there when I needed it. Good Luck P.S Some drugstores don't want all the work for 1 customer and will lie and say they never even heard of it and cannot order it ( ...

I am a colon cancer survivor. Due to losing 9" of large intestines and all but 1" of rectum, I experience severe diarrhea and resulting horrendous rectal pain. My oncologist prescribed Tincture of Opium. As the name implies, this is serious medicine. I nursed my first prescription so it lasted four years (Feb. 2006 to Feb. 2010), second prescription three years (Feb. 2010 to June 2013). When I picked up third prescription and got home with it, it did not look the same and the name was different, "C-Morphine 10 MG/1ML SUSP AKA-Opium Tincture #118". So silly me, I thought it was a generic. The first time I had an episode of diarrhea and the accompanying rectal pain, I was bedridden for hours before the pain eased off to an endurable ache. My Tincture usually worked within ...

antidepressant containing opium or opiates. Opiates used for depression. ## That is not a common use for opiates, in modern times, due to their addictive nature and the risk of abuse, which the FDA warns about. They may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. What other medications have you tried? Have you tried any SSRIs, or SSNRIs? Some examples would be Prozac, Wellbutrin, Zoloft, or Cymbalta?

Paregoric, Camphorated Opium Tincture Drug Index

Paregoric, or camphorated tincture of opium, also known as tinctura opii camphorata, is a traditional patent medicine known for its antidiarrheal, antitussive, and analgesic properties. According to Goodman and Gilman's 1965 edition, "Paregoric is a 4% opium tincture in which there is also benzoic acid, camphor, and anise oil. ... Paregoric by tradition is used especially for children."[1] The term "paregoric" has also been used for boiled sweets which contained the substance,...

I have been swollowing 3 drops 3 times per day of Tincture of Opium for the past 8 months. 1 week ago I put the 3 drops into a geletin capsule and swollowed it, eliminating the contact with the tongue etc.I have been taking the opium that way ever since. I drink a half glass of water with the capsule and then while it desolves in the stomach (about 20 minutes) I sip a little water during that time. My reasoning for the extra water is because when it desolves it is in a more concentrated form and might harm something. Each day since I started this I have noticed an improvement in the taste of food, not that tinny overpowering taste.WOW!! No more horrible taste when taking the medicine. Does anyone see anything wrong with this idea? The dropper puts the drops into the capsule so easy. ## T...

trying to get a comprehensive list of Ins. companies that cover Opium tincture (so far Cigna does). ## i live in los angeles, i was prescribed opium tincture for loose bowels, by me having medi-cal, they won't cover it i need helpon information what insurace covers it..... ## Where did you get this medication? My husband's dr has prescribed, however, I can't find it. ## There is no given list of which company will cover any given medication, even if it has been prescribed. The only thing you can really do is research various health insurance companies, and look over their formularies. It is most commonly used to alleviate pain. The FDA warns that this medication carries a high risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, sedation, drowsi...

does vicodin come in plant form? im not sure and im doing a report on it. ## No, it is a chemical refined from other substances to create an opiate analgesic. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Many opiates are derived from opium, but once chemically processed they are not the same substance, many are even synthetic, so you'd not be able to find anything in nature that works and affects someone the same. Vicodin contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen (IE: Tylenol) and the Hydrocodone, which is the active narcotic is actually classified as being semi-synthetic. It is synthesized from Codeine, which is derived from the alkaloids in the ...

I have hep-c. I'm on methadone, but am switching to suboxone or subutex. I hear that naloxone is bad for your liver. Is this true and should I tell the Dr this? ## My liver is fatty and I have been an opium addict since 2010. Can you please tell me if Naloxone tablets are harmful for my liver or not? ## Naloxone is processed through the liver, so it would be best to make sure you doctor is aware of all of your medical conditions to be safe, as a dosage adjustment might be necessary to it, or other medications that you might be taking. Shiku has your opium problem cause any liver damage that you are aware of? Some medications can worsen existing damage.

I have been reading some information, and I am wondering if Tylenol 3 is the same as Hydrocodone? ## Based on my research, Tylenol 3 is composed of two analgesic or pain-relieving drugs: Acetaminophen + Codeine. But "NOT" Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is alot like codeine, except that codeine is said to be a natural derivative of opium plants whilst hydrocodone is synthetic. Hydrocodone is also proven to be much stronger. I hope this helps to answer your question!

Found a pill in my daughter's room - it's a yellowish round pill with M in a box and numbers 595 on other side. Anyone know what it is? ## The round yellow pill with M on one side and 595 on other side is the generic oxycontin pain killer 40mg. It is extremely addictive so you should talk to your daughter about it asap. ## I am holding one in my hand at the moment, and it is 100% a 40mg Controlled Release Oxycodone. This is a highly potent drug, and if it is not prescribed for your daughter, than it is also very illegal. Hope that this helps. ## Well, there is no doubt it is an oxy, and that's an opium, which is highly addictive and starts to hurt you Cuz Once you r addicted, I'd you don't have it, you become what is called "DOPE SICK" this it's very very...

My client is unable to find a pharmacy which will supply tincture of opium. ## From what I could gather on the topic, "recent enforcement action by the FDA against manufacturers of paregoric and opium tincture suggests that opium tincture's availability in the U.S. may be in jeopardy." It is still actually available, today, by prescription, but in a more purified form and is only prescribed under certain strict medical criteria. You can learn more about it here: Listed below is a pharmacy-locator site that uses your zip code to find nearby pharmacies within a given mile range: Phone numbers and addresses are included in the list after you verify your zip code; so I would suggest calling a number of them to see if anyone can fill your client's prescription.
