I have been on Nuzak for a month now, am always tired, lost appetite, losing weight, my vission is blure and when I take energy drinks and suppliments my heart beats fast and i lose focus, plz help on how to deal with these side effects as this has a negative impact on my studies and my work. ## Hello, Andy! Is it possible that a person who isn't epileptic can deveope seizures once on nuzak? ## I have been taking nuzak for 3 years and I had a seizure in the first year I have had 3 in the last 3 years the doctors say its not the nuzak but I am sceptical as I am 32 the seizures make me feel paralysed and I loose all bodily control I have recenty weand myself off the nuzak ## It is not a very common side effect, but yes, the NIH reports do list seizures as possibly being cause by Nuzak, which contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine. Hey ive been put on nuzak 20mg a day after the birth of my daughter. Reason y I got that and not something stronger, was because I was still breastfeeding. Hi there Does nuzak help for anxiety cause the Doc subscribed it for anxiety and phobia's will it work??I have read that it helps for Alcohol dependence cause i am an alcoholic.I do not use anti- depressants with drink but sometimes my nerves cant take it no more With my social phobia by social event and then i drink to much and then it takes months to stop drinking and i used to use 10mg lexapro and got severe side effects. Will it be the same with nuzak?? Can u drink like 6 beers each night if i cant stop drinking or should i stop nuzak?

It isn't harmful to take 2 doses a day, I am on the same medication and split mine up that way, as well, with my doctor's approval, because it gives me better control of the anxiety and OCD symptoms that I was experiencing from perimenopause. Hi I was taking Nuzak for a long time possibly 8 years on and off, PRN but I recently weaned myself off completely very slowly over a few months. I am suffering from severe IBS and picked up weight with cravings , can stopping the Nuzak a couple of months back have these side affects . ## Hello, Mandy! How are you? Hi I am on Nuzak and feel I have no energy I stay tired. I am on Nuzak about 8months. I also have gained weight and eat less but still pick up weight. I was on wellbutrin before but went off and my Dr recommended me to go back on Nuzak. I struggle to get through the day and feel sleepy mostly. I also have no libido. Is it save to use 150gm Venlor in the morning and 20mg Nuzak at lunch time? ## can venlor cuase any mood problems in future and how long it take to kick in. ## Has your doctor instructed you to take both? They are both antidepressants, so you really should only need one, unless you have severe treatment resistant depression. They both have an effect on Serotonin, so taking both also risks your developing serotonin syndrome. And Sorro, it should not cause any permanent issues and it may take about 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy. I was on 10mg of Nuzak a day for about two years. I was also on Yaz. I stopped using both similtaneously. I did read up on symptoms that occur so I was prepared for it but I'm beginning to wonder how long they last for? The most annoying is the "brain-shocks". I've been off both medications now for about 3 weeks, but this week the "brainshocks" have actually become more frequent?! I don't feel myself at all. I have this general feeling of being unwell and tired. I've been on Nuzak for 4 months now and stopped using it about 5 days ago. Last night I had this pain between my breasts and my gums, can it be a side effect? Otherwise I feel fine. ## Hello, Mandy! How are you? Where was the pain located? Your breast and gums are quite far apart. Did you mean chest pain or mouth pain? Hi there - i am a 26 year old female i and have been on 20mg Nuzak for almost 2 months now to treat anxiety and depression - my doc has said i could up my dose and start taking 40mg a day, however i am scared that i will suffer the side effects again as i am 100% fine on them now with no side effects. Nuzak contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant and they can cause REM sleep latency, so you don't enter the REM state as fast, or stay in it as long as normal, that's usually what causes the tired feeling. Hi, I'm Jeremy from South Africa, I was diagnosed with Clinical Depressive Disorder, and my doctor put me on Nuzak 20mg for the past month. I think 2 weeks into the month, seeing that my sleeping patterns, paranoia and anxiety levels weren't norming he put me on Dopaquel 25mg (to increase dosage every 7 days till 200mg, I'm currently on 100mg ). I've been on both now for quite some time now but my only concern is I've gotten to a level where I think I've built a tollerence for both these drugs and no longer feel the effects them (cause my sleeping patterns have decreased once more). Been on Nuzak and Dopaquel (25mg) for a month now. The medication is helping me tremendously. However, I'm losing a lot of weight. An unhealthy amount. I haven't lost my appetite, I eat a lot and I'm far from active. Is this healthy? Normal? Will the weight-loss stop without having to stop the meds? Yes, it's better than having weight gain but it's an unhealthy weight-loss which can't be good either.
