How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're experiencing. The tiredness, appetite loss, weight loss and blurred vision can be normal side effects of this medication, as reported by the U.S. FDA. As to the energy drinks and supplements, those can also be normal effects of using them and, if they bother you, you should stop indulging in them, unless your doctor says otherwise. Most side effects of medications are transient and should taper off soon, and eventually go...

Is it possible that a person who isn't epileptic can deveope seizures once on nuzak? ## I have been taking nuzak for 3 years and I had a seizure in the first year I have had 3 in the last 3 years the doctors say its not the nuzak but I am sceptical as I am 32 the seizures make me feel paralysed and I loose all bodily control I have recenty weand myself off the nuzak ## It is not a very common side effect, but yes, the NIH reports do list seizures as possibly being cause by Nuzak, which contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine. Other side effects may include nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, weight loss, and headache. However, there is also a chance that they are not due to the medication. Have your respective doctors done any testing to be sure? My husband developed epilepsy suddenly ...

wat real causes to wake up to early and stay awake till morning sometimes ?I dnt real have eating problem or any side effects ## Hello, Tomas! How are you? Most medications in this class are known to cause REM Onset Latency, which means that it takes longer for you to enter the REM stage of deep sleep and you spend less time in it, according to the FDA. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headaches, dry mouth and weight loss. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am very sorry about the problems that you're having. The dosage of the Nuzak could be raised to enable it to start helping you, again. I'm on nuzak 20 for about 4 years now I found that it was not effective anymore so now I take one in he morning and one at bed time, I'm getting scared that this will end up very harmfull but I cannot control my temper without the nuzak since I started to take at bed time as well it's going better ## Hello, Leon! How are you? What dosage are you taking? It isn't harmful to take 2 doses a day, I am on the same medication and split mine up that way, as well, with my doctor's approval, because it gives me better control of the anxiety and OCD symptoms that I was experiencing from perimenopause. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache. The only usual concern would be if your doctor has told you not to do that...

Hi I was taking Nuzak for a long time possibly 8 years on and off, PRN but I recently weaned myself off completely very slowly over a few months. I am suffering from severe IBS and picked up weight with cravings , can stopping the Nuzak a couple of months back have these side affects . ## Hello, Mandy! How are you? Yes, the weight and cravings can sometimes occur when you withdraw from such a medication, as reported by the FDA. It may or may not have caused the IBS, it's hard to say on that, because it has been known to cause various gastrointestinal issues, but typically, they would crop up, while you were taking it and not after. Are you taking any other medications?

Between nuzak and venlor, which is better? I have been suffering from panic attacks from a young age, and 6 years ago my sister died (suffocated) in front of me, also 2 children later and I feel extremely unwell from anxiety and ptsd. Which would be better? I google too much and it makes me scared. ## There is really no way to say, since we are all different. What works well for you might not work for me, and so on. The NIH does warn that they cause similar side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. Are you on any other medications? I am so very sorry about your sister, that would be horrible, and a memory you can't let go of. ## Just for reference in case anyone else has an opinion Nuzak is the same active ingredient as Prozac (F...

Hi I am on Nuzak and feel I have no energy I stay tired. I am on Nuzak about 8months. I also have gained weight and eat less but still pick up weight. I was on wellbutrin before but went off and my Dr recommended me to go back on Nuzak. I struggle to get through the day and feel sleepy mostly. I also have no libido. Weekends I just want to rest to be able to cope for the week that lies ahead. I feel very exhausted and hate feeling this way. What would you suggest? ## Hi Chantel, This reply may be very outdated but may still help someone else. I have been on Nuzak for almost 3 weeks now and for the first 2 and half weeks felt the same, very very tired all the time no matter how much I slept. I spoke to my doctor and pharmacist at first thinking it was a side effect, but after some invest...

I was on 10mg of Nuzak a day for about two years. I was also on Yaz. I stopped using both similtaneously. I did read up on symptoms that occur so I was prepared for it but I'm beginning to wonder how long they last for? The most annoying is the "brain-shocks". I've been off both medications now for about 3 weeks, but this week the "brainshocks" have actually become more frequent?! I don't feel myself at all. I have this general feeling of being unwell and tired. When is it going to stop? ## The 'brainshocks' are most likely from stopping the Nuzak, since it contains Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant. Learn more Nuzak details here. And though the withdrawal effects tend to gradually taper off, it may take over a month for you to really start ...

Is it save to use 150gm Venlor in the morning and 20mg Nuzak at lunch time? ## can venlor cuase any mood problems in future and how long it take to kick in. ## Has your doctor instructed you to take both? They are both antidepressants, so you really should only need one, unless you have severe treatment resistant depression. They both have an effect on Serotonin, so taking both also risks your developing serotonin syndrome. And Sorro, it should not cause any permanent issues and it may take about 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have used nuzak for a few years. My doctor( I have switched doctors) has put me on venlor 150mg. I feel nauseous, sk...

I have been taking Nuzak for years and years ago I weaned myself to 1 a day. How do I stop completely? I am 67 years old ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? Why are you stopping it? Is your doctor aware that you are doing so? This is an SSRI antidepressant, so it is best to stop it as gradually as possible, to avoid severe rebound effects. What dose are you currently taking? ## 20mg a day

I've been on Nuzak for 4 months now and stopped using it about 5 days ago. Last night I had this pain between my breasts and my gums, can it be a side effect? Otherwise I feel fine. ## Hello, Mandy! How are you? Where was the pain located? Your breast and gums are quite far apart. Did you mean chest pain or mouth pain? If you stopped taking it suddenly, then yes you may experience withdrawal effects, but if you're having chest pain, you need to have that checked out as soon as possible.

Hello I wonder if you can help, I have been on Nuzak for a year and a half now if not more. I recently decided to gradually stop using it and this month I haven't had my menstruation could this be a side effect of me stopping the medication? ## Yes, it can affect your menstrual cycles, when you stop it, start it, change your dosage or miss doses. However, if you continue to not have your period in additional months, you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi there - i am a 26 year old female i and have been on 20mg Nuzak for almost 2 months now to treat anxiety and depression - my doc has said i could up my dose and start taking 40mg a day, however i am scared that i will suffer the side effects again as i am 100% fine on them now with no side effects. Will i suffer the side effects all over again if i up my dose or will they be more or less stable as Nuzak is already in my system? Also how do i know if i need to increase my dose or not? i know 20mg is a very low dose - will it still be effective over time or do i need to increase my dose..thank you ## Hello, Caz! How are you? Good Day I am on day 4 of using Nuzak and I am feeling so irritable is this normal. ## Hello, Tamz! How are you? Yes, that can be a normal side effect of this medication, I found that it usually goes away after about 3 weeks of taking it. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and weight loss, according to the U.S. FDA. Has there been any change, yet? ## Hi Verwon! Im good thanks Its day 11 and I am still irritable but Thank God all the other side effects have stopped. Do you perhaps know how long it takes before the meds start to make you feel better. Thanks

I have been taking Nuzak for 4 years, but I feel very tired no matter how much I sleep. I have also gained about 15kg. Can this be the nuzak? ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Sorry about the problems that you're having. Nuzak contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant and they can cause REM sleep latency, so you don't enter the REM state as fast, or stay in it as long as normal, that's usually what causes the tired feeling. Learn more Nuzak details here. However, this one usually causes weight loss in most people, not much of a gain, at all. Have you discussed it with your doctor?

Hi, I'm Jeremy from South Africa, I was diagnosed with Clinical Depressive Disorder, and my doctor put me on Nuzak 20mg for the past month. I think 2 weeks into the month, seeing that my sleeping patterns, paranoia and anxiety levels weren't norming he put me on Dopaquel 25mg (to increase dosage every 7 days till 200mg, I'm currently on 100mg ). I've been on both now for quite some time now but my only concern is I've gotten to a level where I think I've built a tollerence for both these drugs and no longer feel the effects them (cause my sleeping patterns have decreased once more). I'm too concerned about this, what advice can I kindly get? ## What time period do you consider as being on them for quite some time? It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks for both ...

Been on Nuzak and Dopaquel (25mg) for a month now. The medication is helping me tremendously. However, I'm losing a lot of weight. An unhealthy amount. I haven't lost my appetite, I eat a lot and I'm far from active. Is this healthy? Normal? Will the weight-loss stop without having to stop the meds? Yes, it's better than having weight gain but it's an unhealthy weight-loss which can't be good either.
