What Is Neuropathic

Has anyone used this drug for neuropatic pain or trigeminal neuralgia? I've been taking neurontin. It helps a little with the pain, but seems to also be causing weight gain. Thanks. ## I have been using neurotin for a few years and have been very pleased with it. it relieves my neuropathy, that is very mild. I tried topamax for a while and had HORRIBLE side effects. Run from it. ## I have a lot of nerve damage in my feet and legs. The doc put me on Neurotin for awhile, but didn't help much. Then he gave me Tramadol and this really helps with the pain. ## Mine was described/diagnosed as nonspecific neuropathic pain. Neurontin,Cymbalta and a few lesser known drugs were tried. Visited my Orthopedist and he prescribed Gabapentin as a multiple solution for differing pain. First have no cartaledge in left knee and only 50% in right knee with significant degradation of the joints bilaterally. Also having neuropathic pain in legs after sitting for 20-40 minutes in one place along with feeling of feet and legs being asleep(attributed to my diabetes) Also have shoulder pain from pinched nerve in my arms/elbows. (were you prescribed this by your doctor?) If you're dealing with muscle pain, have you considered safer over-the-counter products such as Advil, Aleve, Tylenol, etc?
