It is a white round pill with no markings except for a score line in the middle on one side ## Hi lois, Here in the U.S. the lowest I've seen online are only 5 and 10mg generic doses. I can argue though that there is an article on a study done here in the states, where cancer patients were randomly assigned to receive methadone 7.5 mg orally every 12 hours for 4 weeks. So I do believe it is available, but maybe only prescribed under specific circumstances. I could be wrong, but as of yet I have not come across anything stating otherwise. I was just started on 5 milligram Methadone, and I'm already on 30 mg oxycodone three times a day, after losing my leg. But I just received my refill and there's a deep score in the pills. I was told this is a 12-hour pill. So my question is whether this is the wrong pill because I thought that any 12-hour extended bill would not be scored and able to be broken or I would overdose or get too much at once? So can you tell me is that appropriate? What happens if it breaks? Can I take the two halves separately all at once or will it release all at one time? I don't know why it's scored. I successfully weaned myself off of a 8 year opioid addiction. The last drug I was on was Methadone 30mg a day for about a year but I took every medication for pain at one point or another. Overdosing 3 in the process. I had major spine surgery in October 2016 to straighten my spine and fused 6 discs. I went from 30 mg a day to 10mg very fast, stayed there a month or so then I went to 5mg/day. Stayed there for a few weeks and went to 2.5mg (My PM Dr. gave me a prescription for 5mg tabs that are scored). A few weeks later I was down to 1.25mg. I did that for 2 weeks then I quit one night. No withdrawals! I can feel every screw in my back but I don't care because I am free of addiction.

On 60mg. of methadone. Want to due a taper of 5mg. per day til at 30mg. Stop for two days, Then start Suboxone 8mg per day for two weeks then discontinue. That could be too rapid of a taper for the Methadone, according to the FDA, it is highly addictive and tends to cause severe cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Additionally, waiting 2 days to take the Suboxone could be too long or too short of a time period to start it. You need to be in full withdrawal, which for some people could be 12 hours, or it may take several days. Taking it too soon could cause you to go into precipitated withdrawals, which can be very dangerous and, if you go into severe withdrawals sooner, there'd be no point in waiting longer to take it. 2 weeks...

So I've been taking methadone for 8 months now. My peak dose was 70mg, but I've been weaning off of it for several weeks with the goal of getting off of it entirely. This past week, I dropped down to 5mg and my body went into full withdrawal. I honestly think that the dose is so low that it's pretty much just waste that my body doesn't absorb. I called my clinic and asked if I could come in and switch to subutex. They told me that even though I'm only on 5mg, they won't take the risk of putting me on it until I've stopped taking it for three days even though I'm only on 5mg. I just started taking 2 (0.5MG each) in the morning and 2 at night yesterday, I'm NOT A BUSER!!!! I just needed to get off my pain meds after back surgery and cant get threw the methadone withdrawals so my doc gave me the clonazepam for withdrawals and being able to sleep. The anxiety and RLS was so bad I couldn't stand it. There are better, less reactive antibiotics to take if one is on methadone of ANY dose. The guy also ended up with aspiration pneumonia and was placed in ICU.
