I HAVE BEEN TAKING METAXALONE, SUBSTITUTE FOR SKELAKIN, WHICH HELPS ME A LOT, HOWEVER IT IS QUITE EXPENSIVE. IS THERE ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE MEDICATIONS EQUIVALENT TO METAXALONE? ## Hello, Victoria! Want to know what this drug is equal to in a more familiar name. ## Cyclobenzaprine is Flexeril. ## @Thomas, No two drugs are "equal" in my opinion, because they also contain different binders and fillers, different half-lives (i.e. some lasting longer than others), different release rates (i.e. how quickly it affects you), etc.. So when you ask about an equal substitute, the best I can do is point you in the direction of different brand names of Cyclobenzaprine... what can I substitute for skelaxin. Medicare will not cover skelaxin and it is expensive ## I would like to continue taking skelaxin 800MG but now I am on medicare and they will not cover it. I found a white pill in my daughters possession it is white oval with 86/67 on one side and the letter S on the other side the numbers may be 85/57 I really can't make them out through the plastic rap they are in.
