I was just prescribed 15mg tablets for intermitten inflamation in my ankle. I am not very confortable with taking a 15mg tablet every day or even on an "as needed" basis. I wonder if I can split (cut) these tablets in half and still take it on an "as needed" basis? ## Hello, Dominick! How are you? I was prescribed Meloxican 15mg for knee pain. RX bottle indicated 1 tab/4 times daily. Took 30 pills in short amount of time. Also was told to take acetaminophen between RX if needed. Went to refill RX and pharmacist said that original RX was written to be taken 1 pill/1 daily. (She wondered why I was refilling so quickly) So now I am concerned if I have taken a toxic amount of meds. I called poison control and was told there was no actual data to indicate toxic amounts of this RX. No side effects other than a little nausea and diarrhea. I have stopped taking RX and acetaminophen now. Any thoughts if I may have any permanent kidney or liver damage? (took 30 pills in 12 days and 58 years old) ## Hello, Yvonne! How are you?
