I have been taking metoprolol tartrate 50 mg 2x a day for a while now, my doctor just told me to now start taking 2 tablets in the morning and 1 in the evening. My pharmacy refilled my Teva Metoprolol Tartrate 50 mg with Metoprolol manufactured by Aurobindo. I've taken Teva Met Tart for 4 years with great results and no side effects. After taking 50mg Aurobindo Metoprolol Tart, the side effects were immediate. The Aurobindo Metoprolol 50 mg tab did not bring down my BP and it kept climbing. I have been taking metoprolol tartrate 50mg for 10 plus years. Recently I have been experiencing cold feet, especially when I lay down. My heart doctor checked my blood flow to my feet and said it was normal. He then suggested the culprit could be the metoprolol tartrate 50 mg that I was taking once daily. What should I do? I took 2 metoprolol 50mg but my dose is 1. My other meds are white and looked alike. ## It is always best to check with your doctor to be sure. is there any difference between Metoprolol Tarta 50mg and Metoprolol Succ ER 50 mg? ## The succinate and tartrate just refer to the specific chemical salt that the manufactured used in their process to create the drug, however, if they are both ER, then they are the same and will work in the same manner. The ER stands for extended release, so is not a time released formulation, then there could be a difference, because a regular release formulation won't allow for the same blood pressure or cardiac control, throughout the day.
