I have been taking lentogesic caps for about 8 years now. 2 three times a day. Part of my rheumatoid arthritis treatment. With them been taken off the market what can i take and must I wean myself off them. ## Have you contacted your doctor to discuss an alternative? Lentogesic contained Dextropropoxyphene and Paracetamol, it is a mild narcotic analgesic and it was removed from the market due to the fact that Dextropoxyphene and its derivatives have been shown to be cardiotoxic. And, as with any medication, even if you aren't abusing it, your body does get used to having it and a sudden cessation may cause withdrawal symptoms and rebound pain. There are, however, other medications on the market that you can try, but only your doctor can help you decide which ones are safe for you. #...

However I was rushed to hospital with severe abdominal pains and was diagnosed with either liver or kidney problems. Scan showed no evidence of this. Hi, I have Gr 5 scoliosis in my back, I was born without arms and my left leg is shorter than the left. After many years of the use of medication due to 17 operations om my leg, to lenghten it and my back, no painkiller worked I used morphine, pethidine and Valeron, all very highly addictive. We had to find an alternative. They gave me lentogesic and I never looked back.I have been using it for 10 years, with no side effect. I use a maximum of four a day and on a bad day 6. This is the only painkiller that works. I dont know how they can take it off the market, do they not think that taking away a persons only hope when you are in so much pain that death would be better. I also disagree that its addictive because sometimes I go weeks without using it and there are no side effects. I thin...

I have been taking Lentogesic Capsules - 60 a month for a long time. I have encountered problems in the last few months of Paralysis in my legs especially the one leg. I have traced all of my tablets side effects on the internet and have found that it is not any of those tablets. I have had scans, xrays and all sorts of tests in hospital by specialists and they cannot find any physical problem as to why I have paralysis in my legs. I then decided if they cannot help me I will research on the Internet myself. After lengthy researches I can only put this paralysis in my legs down to the Lentogesic as I started this problem when I started the tablets and did not realise it until I started researching after seeing that even the Specialists cannot help me. I would appreciate some feedback or...

Can you take expired lentogesic capsules? My daughter has a broken femur and pin has been out in. She is taking tramaset but is still in incredible pain. I have a container of lentogesic from before so was just wondering. ## Hello, Celeste! How is your daughter doing? Expired medication tends to lose efficacy, so it would be best to dispose of them and speak to her doctor to see what else she can take for the pain. Tramacet is an opiate analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
