is this a good medication to take for shoulder pain ## Hello, Larry! How are you? Yes, as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you. The FDA classifies this medication as narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, if it has not been prescribed by your doctor, you shouldn't take it, because it is contraindicated with some medical conditions and some other medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello I am taking Hydroco\aceta 10 325 for knee pains. I had total rt knee replacement 2 yrs ago. Currently I have fever for 3 days. Went to my doc and he gave me levoquin and Motrin 500. Is it safe for me to take this while on Verapamil for high bp ? I only take the Hydro once a day if I need it. ## Hello, Maria! How are you feeling? Is your doctor aware of everything that you take? It is only safe to combine these medications, if they have approved that you do so. How high is your blood pressure? The Motrin may cause some elevation and fluid retention. Levaquin is an antibiotic that may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Motrin may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation...

Can hydroxide/acetaminophen 10-325 mg tab be substituted for Norfolk 10-325 mg tab? ## Hello, Kris! How are you? Looks like autocorrect was having some fun with you! :-) However, I happen to be fluent in Typonese! Yes, Norco is just one of the brand names for Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, so they are equivalent. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more Norco details here. Are there any other questions or concerns? Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can this cause ulcer-like stomach pain?

Did the fda really take away the loratabs or was this just the doctors decsion, because i did better with then, ## Hello, Ellie! How are you? All combination prescription medications with amounts of Acetaminophen in excess of 325mgs per dose have been removed from the market. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## They still make Lortab with the same doses of Hydrocodone. It just has 325 mg of Acetaminphen instead of 500 mg.

Yes I take hydrocodone 325 10mg. Is it stronger than 750 dont know what mg is. My uncle keeps aguring that hisn750 isnthe strong3st ## Hello, Linda! How are you? The higher the number, the stronger the dose. So a 10/750 would be stronger than a 10/325. However, that dose is no longer manufactured. They've all been lowered to contain no more than 325mgs of the Acetaminophen per dose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I had knee surgery a week ago I take that medicine to but after a few days I had bad head ake real bad I can not even go to sleep I haven't sleep in two days str...

I've been approximately 10 years on hydrocodone acetaminophen 10-500. It now has been changed to Hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10-325 without any consultation. What would be the reason for the change and will it attack the pain the same? Thank you. Todd ## All prescription tylenol combinations medications had to reduce the amount of tylenol to no more than 325 mg in Jan 2014. The FDA has even taken action to withdraw the approval for prescription meds that have more than 325 mg tylenol. The decrease in tylenol may or may not make any difference to you. Some drs are telling their patients to add 1 regular strength tylenol to the prescription meds, if they need it. Just be sure to keep track of how much tylenol you take in a 24 hrs period and don't let it exceed 4,000 mg in a 24 hr pe...

I AM VERY ALLERGIC TO NORCO AND THE BOTTLE READS MFG WATSON AND THE PILL IS WHITE OVAL WITH SCORE ACROSS CENTER ON ONE SIDE AND WATSON 3203 ON THE OTHER. IS THIS THE TRUE LORTAB? I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH PLAIN OLD LORTAB SO HOPE THIS IS NOT A GENERIC. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. ## WATSON 3203 contains Hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg. Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen are both in Lortab. Lortab is the Brand Name. ## Yes, the ones with the WATSON 3203 marking on them are a generic, just as BL has stated. The name brand Lortab uses the ucb logo on them, with numbers on the opposite sides. Learn more Lortab details here. But these are the same ingredients that are in Norco, so if you're allergic to one, you should also be allergic to Lortab, Vicodin and the generics. What typ...

If I'm not getting relief on 1 tab, can I take 1-12? ## Hi Essie, Hydrocodone Apap 5/325mg contains (5 mg) of Hydrocodone + (325 mg) of Acetaminophen. Acetaminophen/Hydrocodone is a combination of two types of pain medicine used to treat moderate to severe pain. The Hydrocodone (related to codeine) is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics (which act in the central nervous system [CNS] to relieve pain), while the Acetaminophen (a less potent pain reliever) is used to boost the effects of the Hydrocodone. If you're having problems with the dosage, I would speak with a doctor about increasing it instead of experimenting on your own. I am super scared... I have taken a total of 17 hydrocodone 10/300 today. I read (afterward) that 90mg of hydrocone is lethal. I have tried to make myself vomit to get the last pills out, but I cant tell if what is coming up is a dissolved pill or just mucus. I dont want to die!! I dont know what to do. Going to a hospital is not an option, I have children sleeping & no one tp watch them..... ## Hey I'm here :/ ## You need to get checked out for side effects of taking too much Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Anything over 4,000 in a 24 hr period can be toxic. You won't immediately feel the side effects of this, but you do need to get checked out. ## To the user who started this thread, I strongly agree with post #2 in that you should get your levels checked to make sure you don't...

I'm recovering from my third back surgery. I can take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-325 mg tab with no stomach problems. However, when I take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 7.5-325mg tab Mallinc generic, I have severe stomach pains. The pharmacist says there is no difference except the 10 vs the 7.5. It is NOT in my mind, it's in my stomach & it really hurts. Can you clear this up for me? I will be very grateful for your attention. Thank you. ## Who manufactures the 10/325 tablet that you've taken? There can be differences in the inactive ingredients from one manufacturer to another and that can cause problems for some people that are sensitive. So, say for example that the 10/325 was manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals, the inactive ingredients could be completely differen...

My daughter has been taking hydrocodone 5/325 every 4 hrs since Thurs afternoon. 24 hrs ago, her dr moved it to every 6 hrs, and she took her last one at 615pm last night (it's now 1250a). Can you switch to extra strength, OTC acetaminophen now (500mg tabs)? Or should we wait longer after her last hydrocodone dose? Please advise. Thank you! ## You can take up to 3000mg of acetaminophen in a 24hr period. Anymore than that should be under a doctor's care/advice. ## According to the FDA, their 'liver warning' goes by a maximum daily dosage of 4,000 mg within a 24-hour period. This is not to say that you shouldn't consult with your doctor first, but it should allow for substantial flexibility in your dosing. If you're currently taking 1300mgs a day (325mgs four times...

Saw a new ortho surgeon. Was taking Hydrocodone/Acetamenaphine 10-325. For lower back pain. He said "oh no, Don't take that!" and presribed Tramadol 50 mg. Why? ## Because it can be highly addictive. Also it is going to go from a Schedule III to a Schedule II, Oct 6, 2014. That means no refills, it can't be called in and you must see your dr at least every 90 days. Even though Tramadol can also be addicting, the risk isn't as great. Tramadol became a Schedule IV Aug 18, 2014. ## Hello, Pete! How are you? Your doctor may also be concerned about the Acetaminophen, taking it for a long time creates the risk of liver damage or failure. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation...

Am on 10-325 mg I go to pain management I can't find my bottle of meds am in pain. 8 days before appt will they see I haven't had my meds ## Hi Vicky, Sorry to hear about your situation. Personally, I think you should be upfront with your doctor about what happened, having misplaced the bottle. The main reason I say this is because I think they do have the ability to tell what levels of medication should be in your system vs how much isn't there. Given the circumstances and type of narcotic, it's easy for them draw false conclusions that you're selling them, but I feel that sincere honesty goes a long way when you are earnest and straight forward with your words. I have my fingers crossed for you and pray that everything works out to your benefit! Be well! ## They ca...

why is this being a discontinued medicine ## The only thing that is changing is the amount of Acetaminophen. It is being reduced to 325 mg. The FDA has asked all of the manufacturers of Acetaminophen combination medications to reduce it. The changes will go into effect in Jan 2014.

How much hydrocodone 325 mg would equal ms contin 60 mg ## Hello, Mark! How are you? Can you please double check the dosage and post back? Thanks! There is no medication that contains 325mgs of Hydrocodone, that would be the dosage for the Acetaminophen in it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

What is the difference between the 325mg and the 7.5/325mg tablets? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? There should be 2 numbers listed for anything that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, for instance, in the second one you've listed, that designates 7.5mgs of the narcotic Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, you've not listed the complete information for the first one, since that only lists 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Can you please double check your information and post back? Thanks! ## All that is listed on my bottle is 7.5-325MG TAB MALLINO ## What is the difference between 5/325 mg of hydrocodone/aceta...

I have a right below the knee amputation due to a land mine that happened in 1968, have never needed pain meds up until 2 to 3 years ago at which time my doc prescribed hydroc/apap 10-650 mg--formerly lortab. Now it has been changed to the same thing only in a 10-325 mg which from what I have been told was due to a change in the law Jan 2014-the 10-650 did a fair job if I oook one every 4 hrs of course the 10-325 do not seem to help very much, have about a 8 out of ten on the pain chart. My wife was given Oxycod/ap 5-325 when she had Cancer surgery, I have taken some of the leftovers and can go 8 to 10 hrs without much pain at all. Can you tell me if they still made this or something equal to it or even the 10-650 lortab that is easily avaviable? Thanks!!1 ## The tylenol in all prescript...

well i resently cutt off a few fingers so i got the hydrocodon for pain when i take 2 of them and 1 hydroxyzine pam 50 mg cap too sooth my stomach.i get feeling really sick to my stomach. but when i take 1 oxycodone 10-325 and 1 hydroxyzine pam50 mg cap i feel fine why is that? ## They are two different opiates, one contains Hydrocodone and the other Oxycodone and each may effect you differently. Not everyone experiences the same results or side effects from every medication they take. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
