What Is Half Of 25mg

I have been having palpitations every day suddenly for the past 3 weeks. My doctor put me on .5mg of xanax assuming it was anxiety. I decided to stop takimg the xanax after reading about how addictive it can be and my doctor started me on a beta blocker(metoprolol 25mg) to stop my palpitations amd trips to the ER until he figures out what the cause is since all of my blood work has come back perfectly fine. He told me to take half of the 25mg pill once a day as i need it. Its working for me so far but its only been a couple days. Is it ok to stop taking this medicine if i dont need it anymore since i am only taking half of the 25mg pill once a day? Ive read plenty about having to wing yourself off of this medicine but im guessing i dont have to do any winging since i am already at the l...

I am weening off this betablocker....can I cut the 25 Milligram tablet in half? ## Generally, if there is a score line on the pill, it is meant to be cut in half for these circumstances. Each tablet for oral administration contains either 25 mg, 50 mg or 100 mg of Metoprolol. I haven't seen anything less than 25mg, but I don't see any reason personally why it wouldn't be ok to cut it in half and still take it as recommended by your doctor. ## Thx David...yes it does have a score line.

Hello, Got a new refill on my Losartan 25mg. which was a small green pill versus the normal oval white. I started the new ones yesterday and within a half hour of taking them I develope a headache. Stayed with me all day. Not a pounding debilitating one but just a constant nagging headache. Today I woke up fine but within a half hour of taking my pill I have a headache again. Same as yesterday. Not sure if this is being caused by something in the new pill "fillers" as they call them. Just know I never had this issue until I started the green losartan yesterday.
