What Is Folitrax Tablet Used For

My dad 67 yrs is suffering from Ankylosing Arthritis and severe Dactylitis. He is being given Remicade (Anti TNF) from last 3 months and is effective. However, his fingers are painting a little and the pain is moving from one finger to another. Doctor stopped his Folitrax and Folvit and started Saaz with increasing dose for next 2 months. Does this have any major side effects? ## Is Saaz good for people of over 65yrs? I mean older people with an ailment?

I am taking Folitrax 10 mg - 2 tabs twice a week for about three years.I do not have pain in the body , but my ESR level is hovering between 40 to 60 . My doctor tells me that some person' s ESR level generally remains high and is a normal position. My age is 73 . My question is - Can I discontinue Folitrax now. I have thoroughly studied its side effects which far outweigh its curative effects.Please give your independent opinion based on your experience as my doctor has not discontinued it yet.

I am using folitrax 20mg for soriatic artherities. My blood report on 22.05.12 shows the following results. SGOT / A S T 83 IU/L ; SGPT/ A L T 92 IU/L . Is the results indicated above ar due to use of above medicine. ## Of course definitely yes sir. its due to the over functioning of liver to detoxify and remove the folitrax content from your blood. please drink more and more water and completely stop or reduce the intake of coffee/tea and alcohol? just stop it. start green tea and protects your liver. sgot & SGPT are the characteristic enzymes in liver whose measure reflects the state of liver.

I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. Doctor prescribed Folitrax 15 mg, every monday. Since 15 mg tablets are not available in the available, can I take 3 tablets of Folitrax 5 mg, together? Will it create any problem? ## Hi Granny, The only potential problem I see with taking three 5mg tablets as opposed to one 15mg tablet, is that you are getting 3x the amount of binders/fillers, otherwise known as inactive ingredients. Certain "inactive" ingredients which may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. In other words they could effect the overall absorption and efficacy of the drug itself; so more is not always better in that regard.
