I get 300 2 mg dilaudid per month for non-healing lower leg wounds. They are extremely painful during bandage changes. Does that seem like an awful lot of pills? I've been taking them for about 7 years a d it seems that's the only thing that helps. My dose was upped this month. Can I get this new prescription filled now or do I have to wait? I live in Maryland. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? As to getting it filled, you'll need to check with your pharmacy. In some cases, since this is a controlled substance, they'll have you just up your dosage with the existing pills you have and then pick up the new prescription, once they are finished. To some it would seem like an awful lot of pills, yes, but the necessary amount for pain relief can vary from person to person, so what ...

No major drug stores carry it so I ordered it from a "mom and pop" store. Anyone have any idea how long it takes for the store to get it in ? ## How long does it take for a pharmacy to order dilaudid ## That can vary from pharmacy to pharmacy, so there's no answer I can give you, I'm sorry. Didn't they give you an approximate time frame? Some pharmacies have medications delivered weekly, but others may only receive shipments biweekly or monthly. The FDA classifies this medication as a This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## They said it should be filled tomorrow. Thanks for your response ## Your pharmacy should order it that day and it s...

equivilency of roxicodone 30 mg ## An equivalent dose of Dilaudid/Hydromorphone would be 11.25mgs. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Wow som1 who actually knows there conversion rates... 30mg oxicodone = to 29mg hydrocodone = to 60 mg of morphine = to 20mg meathadone = to 20mg oximorphone = to 12mg hydromorphone = to 600mcg fyntynal = to 30mg diamorphine, remember all these drugs have different boiavalabilties like oxicodone is 90% and hydromorphone oraly has a bio availability of 30-35% thats why it sucks. oraly bio is same. Through rectal and through nasle passage the bio is 55% and iv is 100%, tho bioavalibility varies wildly oraly from 10% to 60%, also hydromorphone is 60 times stronger than morphine when administered via iv. Morphine's bioavailability is 20 to 40% oral...

I AM TAKING HYDROCO/APAP 5-325MG TAB 1 PILL EVERY 6 HRS FOR PAIN I AM IN TEARS. ISN'T THERE A STRONGER PILL FROM DR. ## Yes, there are many stronger pills. You should call your doctor and tell them that your medication is not helping the pain. I hope you get some relief soon. ## Hi Gary, Post #1 is right about there being a lot of other options for pain relief; many of which are stronger than a 5mg dose of hydrocodone + 325mg of acetaminophen. If it were me, I would talk with my doctor about upping the dose of hydrocodone to 7.5mg or 10mg, since that is considered to be the "next step up" in terms of potency. From there it seems like oxycodone, opana, dilaudid, fentanyl, extended release meds, etc, are reserved for more serious or long term cases of chronic pain management.....

R they yellow with a line on one side and nothing on the other side ## Hi, Matt! How are you? No, all Dilaudid tablets available on the U.S. market would have an imprint on them, this is required by law to enable their identification in case of emergency. If you have a tablet with no imprint on it, then it is most likely something that's available over the counter. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I got them throw the mail is it possible if they came from another County

What is the highest mg. of dilaudid? ## Hello, Sassie! How are you? 32mgs in the extended release formulation. What is stronger, a Dilaudid 8mg or Opana 10mg? I was taking Dilaudid 8mg every 6 hrs for six months and then the pain would come back in three hours. My doctor has switched me to Opana 10mg er and this is the second day... I am in so much pain. How long will it take for Opana to be effective? I'm suffering, help. ## Hello, Dana! How are you doing? I am so sorry that you're in pain. You need 10.67 mgs of the Opana to equal each 8mgs you were taking of the Dilaudid, so the 10mg ER is not an equivalent dose, which likely explains your problem. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you contacted your doctor? You need to let them know that this dose...

What class of narcotic is dilaudid? ## Hello, Sassie! How are you? There are actually just drug classes, not narcotic classes, because not all medications in the various classes are narcotics. As to which one Dilaudid/Hydromorphone is in, its high potential for abuse causes it to be considered a Schedule 2 substance. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks, Verwon. I have Hep C. I go to pain management Dr. once a month to get scripts for dilaudid. Been taking meds for 4 yrs. Cronic pain in back and both knees. Need knee replacement surgerys. I'm 50 yrs. old. Was told to hold off on surgerys as long as possi...

is dalotta stronger then vicodan ## Yes, for each 5mgs of Hydrocodone, you'd only need 1.25mgs of the Hydromorphone in the Dilaudid. You can learn more Dilaudid details here and you can learn more Vicodin details here. However, they are both opiate narcotics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Dilaudid, generic-Hydromorphone 10-20x stronger then morphine. Dependind on administration route

There doesn't seem to be much information regarding Dilaudid and it's effectiveness (which I've found to be less useful than morphine and it is said to be 5 times more potent than morphine...). Is there anywhere else to look or do most people take Opana, there seems to be a ton of information and conversation, granted not so great, on Opana. Any guidance would be appreciated. I am trying to find a balance between my meds. Thanks! ## Well, first what you find to be useful and effective, could be very different from what someone else finds useful and effective, because everyone is different and their own body plays a very important role. For instance, for general pain relief, I had very good luck with Dilaudid, when they gave it to me in the hospital, but it did nothing for th...

I need to know what class of narcotic dilaudid is in? ## I found out 1st of all, that dilaudid is a SCHEDULE 2 narcotic and not a CLASS 2. Shows how much I know about Rx drugs. Thanks for keeping me informed. I will definitely be back to this site when I have anymore questions or concerns. ## Hello, Sassie! I'm glad you saw my other post. To give you a bit more clarification for future reference all controlled substances fit somewhere in the 5 Schedules. Schedule 5 are those that aren't considered to have much addictive or abusive potential, such as narcotic cough medications or some anticonvulsants, while Schedule 1 are those that are considered severely dangerous and which have no valid medical use. But a drug class is actually the category they fall into, such as antibiotics, ...

I was prescribed Dilaudid 2mg for the repair of an incisional hernia. Pain maiintenance has been a problem in as much as I cannont in the least tollerate even 2mgs of dilaudid. In the hospital was one matter. At home I was scared, felt on and off as if I were dying and very week to the point that I could barely make it to the kitchen to eat even oatmeal It would take me 10 to clean up a small kitchen spill because I was so weak. I switched to 600 mg IB and was chastised by the Advice Nurse for even considering IB and to switch immediately to Tylenol. My Question is this: Has anyone every been successful with pain maintenance with Tylenol Extra Strength or with 1/2 a 2 mg Dilaudid pill. Though sill soo afraid of Dilaudid.
